Take a look at the expanded wording of this verse from the amplified version of the Bible:

Let everything you do be done in love [motivated and inspired by God’s love for us]” ~1 Corinthians 16:14 AMP

HS Chapel

A big thanks to Oscar Camejo, who challenged our High School to “Find Your F.I.T.” With masterful precision, Mr. Camejo articulated a few key areas for students to pursue spiritual health and optimal growth: Focus on God’s streamlined goal for your life; find your Identity in God and what God says about you and your heavenly-created value; and, then Trust God with your whole being and entire future. When these pursuits prevail then we can enjoy the perfect path paved for not so perfect people. A huge thanks to Mr. Camejo!

Be in prayer next week for the hearts of our students and for our Head of School, Dr. Mark Anthony, who will deliver next week’s message.

On February 1st, 2022 a group of 9th graders cleaned up a massive amount of tornado debris for a local Newnan homeowner under the direction of a valuable ministry in Coweta County, RiverLife. Simply put, the tornado tore up Newnan but TCS students are helping clean up Newnan. When troubles invade our communities, TCS students serve the troubled (see below).

On February 2nd, 9th graders assisted Bridging the Gap, one of Newnan’s outreach food ministries (among other things). These 23 young men and women tirelessly and efficiently packed enough groceries for about 350 families. Each grocery box is about 75 pounds of food and will supplement a struggling family for about a week. Many families simply need a temporary bridge to get from now to then and from here to there. Our TCS students were happy to be bridgebuilders for a day (see below).

On February 3rd, a class of fifteen 9th graders went to BackPack Buddies of Coweta and helped them stage all the foods about to be distributed to Coweta’s young school children. We are so honored to be friends with BackPack Buddies of Coweta (see below).

G.R.A.C.E Week

“GRACE Week”, usually observed early in February, is designed to engage students in several critical cultural and spiritual areas. Each year in our Bible classes we address all or some of the issues embedded in the acronym G.R.A.C.E. With open Bibles and full surrender to God’s word, our Bible Department leads our students to think about Gender, Race, Ability/Disability, Culture, and Economics. Here is a document link you can use to engage your own family at home. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ypLghO2ZAqa-kldvG5Z3DwMR2QjxYBiMId2rja8f060/edit?usp=sharing

CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH AT TCS

A note from our Director of Diversity, Will De La Cruz:

Black History Month was created by Carter G. Woodson in 1926 as a week-long celebration to share history about all of the great accomplishments and discoveries that people of color have contributed to the United States. The celebration became a month long in 1976. The Month of February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.

We at TCS want to continue to educate and grow our students in the fascinating history and contributions of our brothers and sisters to the fabric of this great country. We celebrate black history throughout the school year in our History, Literature and Bible classes by taking an extensive look and focus on historical events beyond slavery, by reading inspiring literature written by our black brothers and sisters, and by focusing on our identity in Christ and knowing that we are all created in God’s image and likeness.

For the month of February we are thankful for our differences and want to highlight the things that make us different, and how those are the same things that unite us in Christ. We are sharing important facts about the contributions of blacks to our society. We are sharing “Did you know” in our morning announcements. These facts help highlight great black historical figures along with their accomplishments. Our chapels for this month will consist of diverse speakers from different walks of life.

THANKFUL FOR OUR DIFFERENCES ASSEMBLY

FEBRUARY 8TH

This assembly will focus on praising and honoring our differences through having a candid conversation with our student population on how God views us. He has uniquely made each of us and we want to highlight our differences and celebrate his good and perfect work.

Assembly will include: Student Led Worship by

Miss Addison Bell

Miss Brianna Hernandez

Worship Song: You are Good by Israel Houghton and New Breed

Presentation by Will De La Cruz and panel interviews with different students

February Celebrations

Student Council will be selling carnations for $1 during the week of Feb. 7th - 11th as a way for students to demonstrate an act of kindness. Carnations will be distributed to students in their classes.

On Friday, February 11th, students may wear a sweatshirt, jersey or t-shirt that supports a team they are cheering for in Super Bowl Sunday or they can choose to wear pink or red colors to celebrate Valentine's Day. Students are still expected to wear pants and jeans that are approved for everyday wear.

Also on Friday, February 11th, we will have some lunchtime entertainment as we play “What would you do for a klondike bar.” Students can volunteer to do silly acts up on stage in order to get a FREE creamy and delicious Klondike bar.

At the students' requests, we will be celebrating 2-22-22 with a fun dress up day.

“Two-sday”

Use this day to dress in twos. For example, you could wear two pairs of clothes, people could dress as twins, you could wear a tutu, you could dress up as a toucan, you could make yourself 2-faced with face paint, or seniors can wear their class of 2022 shirt.
