Scripture tells us that the true definition of love is found in who God is. In fact, it’s one of the surest things we can know about God, a virtue greater than even faith and hope (1 Corinthians 13:13). Scripture tells us “God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him” (1John 4:16).

Fifties Day Celebration
On March 9th, we will celebrate our last 50 days left of school 1950’s Style. Students are encouraged to wear outfits you would see from the 1950’s. We will decorate our school and cafeteria like a Fifties Diner and sell coke floats and entertain the students with popular music and games from this fun time period.
YOUR ATTIRE SHOULD BE VERY CLEAR THAT YOU ARE REPRESENTING THE 1950’s THEME - IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE, THEN YOU NEED TO BE IN NORMAL DRESS CODE.
Dresscode Guidelines
Holes/rips/tears in jeans should not be above the knee
Mesh/see-thru tops should not be worn unless there is a full coverage top underneath it.
The fingertip rule for shirts, shorts, and skirts applies to every angle - front, back, and side
Leggings may only be worn with a top that meets fingertip length
Shirts should touch the top of the pants, shorts, skirt, etc - if you lift your arms and we can see your skin, it is too short

Form-fitted/wetsuit style attire is not permitted
Hats may be worn
General Rule:
If you have concerns about your outfit...just pick out something else to wear!
Recap Of Our Last Week
LOVE was in the air at the highschool last week. First, we saw this in the fundraiser Student Council did in which they sold over 300 carnations. The student body had so much fun either delivering the flowers or paying extra for them to be delivered to someone special in either class or the lunch room. Another way we witnessed LOVE was during the lunchtime entertainment last week. Students proved to us just how much they love Chick- Fil-A sandwiches by completing a challenge on stage in front of their peers. If you want to see more, watch below.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULE NEXT YEAR
Check out the new schedule!
This new schedule will take us from a traditional 7 period schedule to a modified block schedule with a “skinny” day where students will see all classes.. This schedule keeps us operating from 7:30am - 3:30pm each day with students receiving .5 credit each semester. This transition helps to reach a main goal of increasing the seat time for our students.
Along with giving us time for two lunch periods each day, .here are a few more benefits that we have gleaned from our research and collaboration with other educators at various schools:
Improved teaching and learning - With longer blocks, teachers have more time to complete lesson plans and to examine and re-evaluate practices. More class time is available to develop key concepts, incorporate creativity into instruction, and try a variety of classroom activities that address different learning styles.
Ability to Focus Attention - With block scheduling, students and teachers are able to focus on fewer subjects, and to explore them in greater depth. Both teachers and students assert that this exploration allows them to become engrossed in the subject matter rather than moving rapidly through material.
Stronger Interpersonal Relationships - Teachers get to know students more personally which enables them to adapt lessons to the interests of their students. This extensive personal interaction between teacher and student, frequently touted as the highest motivation for student learning, is strengthened through block scheduling
