Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. . . .~ 1 Peter 1:3

These words of Peter remind us of the need for training and practice in all kinds of sports, music programs, drama, dance, and m alarm for 10 minutesore. Athletes, musicians, actors, dancers, and others all practice and train so that when the time comes to play or perform, they are ready. These words of Peter are, in a way, like a pep talk to believers. He is saying that we have been given Christ as our living hope! Let us hear the pep talk and dive into God’s word daily so that we can be in training and practice for whatever life brings our way. Practice praising God now so that when tougher times come, you will be prepared to do what you need to do!

Challenges from Chapel

We are so blessed to be in such a powerful, rich season of seeing God working and moving in the lives of our students and staff. This past Thursday at chapel God continued challenging, molding, and shaping all of us into the people He desires for us to be. At underclassmen chapel, we were blessed to be led in worship by high school drama teacher Lizzie Perez and her husband AB, who serves on the TCS security team. They were joined on stage by the TCS High School Chorale and our chapel worship band, and they all led incredibly well. We were very fortunate to be joined by guest speaker Skeeter Thompson, the youth pastor at Sonrise Baptist Church in Newnan. Skeeter has served in student ministry in Coweta County for over 30 years, and his passion for our students was evident. He challenged them with the reminder that God still saves. He is still in the business of saving and transforming lives. He challenged our students to be mindful of God seeking after them, desiring to give them faith, save them, transform them, and ultimately to help them grow as disciples of Jesus. He encouraged any student feeling led to take a step of faith to talk with their teachers to discuss next steps. Please be praying for students as they take bold steps forward in their faith. In senior chapel, our seniors were blessed to hear from our 11th grade Bible teacher KC Lorow for one final time at chapel. KC recapped memorable themes from each year of Bible classes for our seniors, capped off by our current study of the Fruits of the Spirit in 12th grade Bible. KC challenged the students to finish their high school careers strong by intentionally living fruitful lives that will serve as a challenge and encouragement to their peers. May the legacy left by our seniors not be who they were academically, athletically, or even socially, but by how they loved and led others spiritually, prioritizing God’s will above everything else. Please join us in praying for our seniors as they seek to stay focused, finish strong, and celebrate this special season in their lives!
