Psalm 23 employs the simplest of images of a shepherd and his flock of sheep. A shepherd serves as the keeper and provider for the sheep. In doing so, when the sheep are tired, the shepherd will make them lie down in green pastures. When the sheep are thirsty, the shepherd will lead them beside still waters and when the sheep are lost, the shepherd will guide them to the path that they need to follow in. “The Lord is my shepherd…I shall not want.” This passage in Psalm provides assurance that God is omnipresent and therefore is with His people in all places at all times. The truth here is that the Lord is our shepherd and we are the sheep of His flock. In knowing this of the Lord, we can have confidence that we will never lack for any necessity, as the Lord will faithfully attend to and provide for our every need. We are able to rest in peace under the watchful eye of our Shepherd - The Lord. We can step forth in confidence knowing that He has Good Plans for us.

National Teen Driver Safety Week -
“One Life, One Choice”
We anticipate a powerful week as we move into our teen driver safety awareness focus! Take some time to read about our schedule of events.
Friday, Oct. 13 - We are proud to welcome our special guest speaker Mike Lutzenkirchen for a special assembly.
Mike Lutzenkirchen is “on a mission to end distracted driving”. His foundation partners with schools and community partners to champion safe driving practices among teens. Read more on his website - https://lutzie43.org/
Monday, Oct. 16 - ONE LIFE, ONE CHOICE EXPERIENCE - Students will participate in several interactive activities designed to enlighten them on the importance of safe driving habits.
Activities throughout the week of 16th-20th
Color challenge: For this week, we are requesting students wear the following colors while staying in our TCS dress code. (This is not a dress down week!)
Pledge card challenge: Students have an opportunity to sign a pledge committing to distracted-free driving.
Challenges from Chapel
If you could ask God one question, what would it be? The most common answer to that question across many surveys over the years has been “What is God’s will or purpose for my life?” This past Wednesday at chapel, Joey Rodgers, the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church in Peachtree City, challenged our students and staff to seek God’s will for our lives through the promises of His word. God provides clear instructions for knowing His will in Romans 12:1-2. We’re so grateful for the challenge to accept God’s plan for surrender, allow God’s word to guide, ask Godly people to advise, anticipate God’s spirit to prompt, and await God’s peace to affirm His plans and purposes for each one of us. Thank you Pastor Joey for this clear and meaningful challenge. Please join us in prayer as we have the opportunity to discuss and advise our students in obedience to what they heard. Thanks also to our worship team for leading us. The depth, talent, and versatility of the team along with their united heart to lead with excellence is a blessing to our high school family.
Student Baking Contest
Our HS students have the opportunity to show off their baking skills at our annual Fall Fest on Friday, Oct 13th. First place winner gets a $100 gift card and second place gets a $50 gift card.
Dessert entry details:
All items may be dropped off at the High School Auditorium on Friday, 10/13, between 2:00 - 4:30pm. If this time doesn’t work for you please feel free to put your items on the table located in High School front lobby between 7:30am and 2pm and we will make sure it gets to the proper location for entry. Judging will take place shortly after, so food items MUST be in the Auditorium by 4:30 pm.

From the Counseling Department
What’s Been Happening
It’s been a busy first few months for the counseling team as we’ve welcomed students back to school. Here is a snapshot of some things that have taken place:
All senior transcripts were reviewed for proper completion of credits
All junior transcripts were reviewed for proper completion of credits
Mr. Fourman led classroom guidance on two separate occasions where all students in attendance were able to hear about important upcoming events in the first semester and how to build a resume
Mr. Fourman led one classroom guidance lesson where all juniors in attendance were able to review their transcript
Preparations were made to conduct the upcoming PSAT administration for juniors (see below)
We began hosting college representatives on campus at lunchtime
Mrs. Hutcheson led a classroom guidance session for 9th graders to discuss the importance of using their agenda and tips for how to use the agenda effectively.
Mrs. Hutcheson led a classroom guidance lesson for 9th and 10th graders to cover graduation requirements and GPA. Students created their Individual Grad Plan.
Mrs. Hutcheson hosted Coffee Talks where parents of 9th and 10th Graders were invited to hear the Graduation Requirements presentation. Please find the presentation by clicking HERE.
PSAT Administration
The PSAT will occur on Monday, Oct. 16. Testing will occur in the morning. All students should arrive by 8:15. Students who are testing should report to the Student Center in Building 1. Students who are not testing should follow their normal Monday schedule.
After testing, students will attend afternoon classes or activities we have planned for that day. It is not a half-day of school.
College Financial Aid Workshop
The counseling department is hosting a college financial aid workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 10th at 7:00 pm in the Multipurpose room of the high school building. Ben Meadows from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will be here to discuss the Hope Scholarship, state aid programs and share details about the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aide). This will be an informative event for seniors and their parents looking at ways to pay for college.

If you are a parent who is interested in connecting with a representative during this time, you are welcome to come. However, we ask that you set an appointment beforehand by calling our front office. This helps us to have a record of your visit and so that the representatives can plan to meet with you and your child.
Probe College Fairs
The Georgia Probe College Tour is an annual program of college fairs to provide high school students access to college representatives from in and out of state. Hundreds of colleges and universities nationwide attend Probe events yearly. It is a great opportunity to connect and learn which college may be right for you.
There are two local events occurring in the month of October that we would encourage juniors and seniors to attend. A list of registered colleges for the event can be found at the registration link below.
