Many of you may be able to recall the familiar bible school song This little light of mine…You may have the tune ringing in your ears now and are finishing out the next verse. I’m gonna let it shine, hide it under a bushel - no! I’m gonna let it shine. This little tune is something that should be on repeat in our lives as we live out the passage found in Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” The goal in this is so that we can point others to become familiar with the goodness, grace, and mercy of Christ. He is our living hope and as we continually shine bright for His glory, then we are acting as a beacon of His life changing hope.
Be the one that offers hope when there seems to be none
Be the one that offers kindness when being surrounded by hatred
Be the one that shines bright so that He is magnified
Aviation Program to Launch at TCS
We are so excited to launch an Aviation Program as a part of our High School offerings. The aviation program will be provided in partnership with The Thompson Family in honor of their son, Nolan Thompson, Middle Georgia State University (MGSU), Certified Pilots, and others. During the chapel time this past week, we were able to hear from MGSU Representatives regarding the courses that will be offered during the second semester.
Students in the 11th-12th grade who have a 3.0 GPA or higher and have 6 or fewer demerits on the TCS behavior record are eligible to apply. Up to 24 students will be selected each year to participate in this initiative and will be re-evaluated for ongoing enrollment in the course post year 1. Each application will be reviewed by the high school leadership team. Additionally, students will need to apply and be accepted into the DE program at MGSU. What College Is a Good Match for Me?
Trying to figure out what college makes sense? Not sure you can go to college at all based on your GPA? If that is the case, check out the brand new program from GAFutures called GEORGIA MATCH.
Georgia Match is a simple way for students to know where they are eligible for admission, based on their recent high school calculated HOPE grade point average (GPA). GAFutures is trying to make it easy for students to see where they could attend college in Georgia based on their current academic record and then to apply to institutions that they are most interested in attending. Scholarship Information
Looking for ways to fund college? The document at the link below provides helpful links to various scholarship programs throughout Georgia, as well as national scholarships that can be applied to any academic institution. Additionally, at the end of the document are links to various scholarship search engines and some additional resources. We will update this document as we become aware of more scholarship opportunities, so bookmark it and check back often.
SAT Spring Test Dates Released
Starting in 2024, the SAT will be a digital administration. Registration is now open for the March, May, and June test dates. Most colleges, including those that are test optional, consider SAT scores when making admission and placement decisions, and for certain scholarships. Your SAT score is a proven way to show what you’ve learned and stand out on applications.
Below are the upcoming test dates and registration deadlines for the spring administration of the SAT. You can find a test center near you to register. These seats will fill up, so don’t delay in registering in order to get the date that you would like.

If you are a parent who is interested in connecting with a representative during this time, you are welcome to come. However, we ask that you set an appointment beforehand by calling our front office. This helps us to have a record of your visit and allows the representative to know you are coming so they can plan to meet with you and your child during their lunch period.
Student Activities
For fun, the Student Council will be selling bags of candy corn for $1 during lunch on Monday.
If your house is overflowing with candy this time of the year and you want it out of the house, consider donating it to our Student Council organization. They will need lots of candy for their upcoming candygram sales during the month of December. There are bins for donations in both HS lobbies.
