Events & Announcements

This entire psalm is a great song of praise and worship that declares the goodness and mercy of God to all people. He is faithful and true, and His grace extends to each nation of the world and every tribe of Israel, forever and ever.

Let us all shout joyfully to the Lord and serve Him with gladness. Let us come before Him with joyful singing and know that the Lord Himself is God Almighty. Let us enter into His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Let us give thanks to Him and bless His name, for the Lord is good, His lovingkindness is everlasting, and His faithfulness endures throughout all generations. Let us be in a season of thanksgiving not only on the 4th Thursday of November but each and every day!

Prayers and blessings for a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

Mid-Course Assessment Schedule

It is that time of year that we plan and prepare to finalize the first semester! The schedule included below has been modified to allow the block periods to accommodate the alternate forms of assessment that are being implemented in each class. Please note that the class times end at 1:45pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesday is different and the end time is 3:15pm.  We will begin the dismissal process at 1:45pm and students will need to be picked up by 2:30pm. In the event that your student is not able to dismiss by 2:30pm they will be required to stay in the multipurpose room until 3:15pm on MWTH.

END OF SEMESTER GRADES

The first semester is rapidly coming to an end, as we only have three weeks left in the grading period. Students should be aware of their current grade in each one of their classes and connect with their teacher for ways to improve their grade. This would include getting assignments completed on time, turning in late work that can still be accepted and using their Do-Over assignment opportunities by November 27th if they have not already done so. Do-Over instructions are found on the main course page in Blackbaud for each class.

Any course that is not passed will have to be made up in order to receive the necessary credit for graduation. Students who fail a semester course will be notified by the counseling department of their options for credit recovery.

Challenges from Chapel

English Pastor Charles Spurgeon once said, “God will never do anything with us till he has first of all undone us.” Isaiah 6 tells us that at the revelation of God in all His majesty, Isaiah declared “Woe is me, for I am undone…” Thank you to U.S. history teacher Dr. Nicholas Yeakley for challenging us with a message about Isaiah’s confession, cleansing, and call to serve the Lord. Like Isaiah, we must see God in the fullness of who He is, see ourselves for who we truly are, and rightly respond to God by surrendering our hearts and lives to His will. Thank you Dr. Yeakley for clearly communicating this powerful truth. Please join us in praying that all of our students will have eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts ready to obey God each week as He challenges us through His word!

DELIVERIES AND FOOD FROM OUTSIDE VENDORS

As a reminder lunch orders and deliveries from outside vendors are not permitted. Senior students are the only ones permitted to have off campus privileges. Students that are returning from “appointments” and being signed in to school, should not bring in food from outside vendors for themselves or their peers. Meals from outside vendors should be eaten before returning to school as food is also not permitted in the classrooms.

SAT Spring Test Dates Released

Starting in 2024, the SAT will be a digital administration. Registration is now open for the March, May, and June test dates. Most colleges, including those that are test optional, consider SAT scores when making admission and placement decisions, and for certain scholarships. Your SAT score is a proven way to show what you’ve learned and stand out on applications.

Below are the upcoming test dates and registration deadlines for the spring administration of the SAT. You can find a test center near you to register. These seats will fill up, so don’t delay in registering in order to get the date that you would like. This mostly applies to juniors and seniors in preparation for college admissions.

November  - Apply to College Month

Georgia Apply to College (GAC) is part of the American College Application Campaign, a national initiative of ACT's Center for Equity in Learning to increase the number of students accessing postsecondary education. In support of GAC, each year the Governor has proclaimed November to be Georgia Apply to College Month.

Many schools within the state waive their application fees during the month of November. The list of schools can be found HERE. In support of this initiative, the counseling department will be encouraging our seniors to apply to at least one college in the month of November.
