Events & Announcements

Oh what a glorious scripture to remind of the Lord's purpose,to fill us with all joy, peace, love, and hope, when we simply trust completely in Him. It is God, Himself, that has promised to fill us to the brim with a great abundance of spiritual blessings – for the joy of the Lord is our strength, the peace of God is our shield and protector, and the fellowship with Him is our precious portion, as our hope overflows in and through Him.

All His promises, whether past, present, or future, are secured in His unchanging character and unchangeable Word, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

This is one of my favorite songs that goes along with this simple message of truth!

Progress LearninG

During the final two weeks of school, several classes will be taking Progress Learning assessments. The purpose of these benchmark assessments is to assess students' ability to apply information and concepts taught in specific subject areas. The test covers all of the Georgia standards being taught for the year, but at this midpoint, students will be demonstrating mastery of the standards covered up until this point. The tests allow teachers to monitor academic progress and growth per Georgia standards. Please note that these tests do NOT require any preparation from the student; the tests are application oriented, therefore, there is no study guide needed. Each teacher will be providing details about the testing date to students. As with any standardized test, we encourage students to do their best and show what they know. Unanswered questions will be recorded as incorrect, so all students need to answer every question.  If you have any other questions about Progress learning, please contact val.adams@tcslions.org.

FLIGHT SIMULATOR

Exciting News! The RedBird flight simulator has been delivered to TCS and will be installed next week. After months of planning and preparation, we are now a major step closer to seeing the Aviation Academy take off in January for our High School population.

Christmas Fun at the HS

Going on Now…..

12 Days of Christmas

This week we started 12 days till Christmas Break Giveaways. During the morning announcements, we are asking a question centered around our Savior Jesus Christ. The class that emails in the number order for that day with the correct answer receives Christmas Cookies and the teacher receives the Christmas Tin.

Also for the next 12 days, students are on a hunt for a picture of Waldo. Those that find the picture get to turn it in for a surprise.

…..Still to  Come

Candygrams for Sale

For the week of Nov 29th - Dec. 3rd, Student Council will be selling candygrams for $1 before school and during lunch, so students can send a note and candy to their friends or special someone. Candygrams will be delivered in Bible classes.

Celebrating Seniors

On Monday, Dec 4th, we will be celebrating our Seniors last Christmas at TCS in their Senior Bible class. The class period will entail Christmas refreshments and games along with students having the opportunity to make a keepsake ornament to display on a Senior tree in the lobby of building one.

DELIVERIES AND FOOD FROM OUTSIDE VENDORS

As a reminder lunch orders and deliveries from outside vendors are not permitted. Senior students are the only ones permitted to have off campus privileges. Students that are returning from “appointments” and being signed in to school, should not bring in food from outside vendors for themselves or their peers. Meals from outside vendors should be eaten before returning to school as food is also not permitted in the classrooms.

Mid-Course Assessment DETAILS

Mid-course assessments will be given during the final week. (see schedule below) Teachers will provide the details on what type of assessment is being given and how students should prepare. Since each course is unique in content and practice, assessments will differ. Some courses will give a traditional test while others may have a project presentation or essay assignment.

Please note that the week of Monday-Thursday, December 11-December 14, is the designated week of finals and the end of the 1st semester. All students are expected to be in attendance each day that week to finish their coursework.* All grades will be finalized by the end of the week. If you have a pre-approved absence your student MUST make arrangements with their teachers to have all their class work turned in PRIOR to their absence. Any work submitted after their return will not be accepted since grades will have already been submitted.

* If a student is unable to complete their assessments due to an unexpected circumstance beyond his or her control, arrangements can be made to make up the work.

Please note that the class times end at 1:45pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesday is different and the end time is 3:15pm.  We will begin the dismissal process at 1:45pm and students will need to be picked up by 2:30pm. In the event that your student is not able to dismiss by 2:30pm they will be required to stay in the multipurpose room until 3:15pm on MWTH.

END OF SEMESTER GRADES

The first semester is rapidly coming to an end, as we only have three weeks left in the grading period. Any course that is not passed will have to be made up in order to receive the necessary credit for graduation. Students who fail a semester course will be notified by the counseling department of their options for credit recovery.

Challenges from Chapel

We were very fortunate to be joined by TCS Head of School Dr. Mark Anthony this past week at chapel. Dr. Anthony passionately delivered the word of God, teaching on Imago Dei - that all are made in the image of God. This truth is a core value of our culture at TCS, and Dr. Anthony challenged us to imagine a society where everyone is loved and valued in this way. What if we choose to see the image of God in each person and love them as Christ has loved us? What if we live out what we say we believe? Dr. Anthony’s message was filled with truth and practical implications for our lives on campus, in the community, and across the world. To quote from what he shared with us, “God’s plan is to graciously share His power by creating a community of loving people who will exercise dominion through His strength, marked by His goodness.” May this be true in every environment of our school and our lives. Thanks to our worship team for bringing the Christmas spirit and leading us in worship to our King who came to sit on a manger throne. We are excited for our final chapel of 2023 next Wednesday. Join us in praying as we conclude this semester!

Local GO Week will take place on January 2- 5, 2024 from 8am to 1pm

Lunch will be served each day. Students should plan to wear the Friday Spirit Day attire each day of this week. This means Trinity T Shirts or polos and TCS branded outerwear along with jeans with no rips, holes, or tears. Trinity branded hats may be worn.
