A Message to High School Parents
Dear Parents,
Congratulations to our High School Theatre Department for their FIRST PLACE win at Region One Act Competition in Thomaston this past week. After sharing three close to sold out performances of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe with our community, the cast and crew worked hard to prepare for competition, where they would have 55 minutes to set up their set, share the show, and then clear the performance space.
Our students traveled to Upson Lee High School to compete against eight other schools in our region, earning multiple awards including Region Champion. Our school was awarded Best Costume Design, led by our parent volunteers Taylor Wise, Patty Brezina, and student designers MJ Poling, Grace Scruton, Ethan Bowen, and more. Our All Star Cast members were Charlotte Osterhage (playing Fenris Ulf) and Brett Rogers (playing Aslan). The Best Actress (or actresses) for the entire Region was our White Witch Trio: Riley Cook, Isabelle Johnson, and MJ Poling.
We are so proud of our entire team for their excellence on stage, as well as keeping Christ at the center of their performance and their witness to other schools. Many of our students reported having opportunities to encourage the other casts and hear how impacted the other schools were by this story of the gospel. They will now work to present this show at the State Competition at Denmark High School on November 16th. Join us in celebrating these students for their hard work and accomplishment!
"Break a leg" Roaring Dramatics! We are so proud of you!
Best regards,
Blake Bass
Assistant Head of School
Interim High School Principal

WHAT COLLEGE IS A GOOD MATCH FOR ME?
Trying to figure out what college makes sense? Not sure you can go to college at all based on your GPA? If that is the case, GEORGIA MATCH IS FOR YOU!
Georgia Match is a simple way for students to know where they are eligible for admission, based on their recent high school calculated HOPE grade point average (GPA). The Georgia Student Finance Commision is helping students see where they could attend college in Georgia based on their current academic record and then to apply to institutions that they are most interested in attending.

NOVEMBER - APPLY TO COLLEGE MONTH
Georgia Apply to College (GAC) is part of the American College Application Campaign, a national initiative of ACT's Center for Equity in Learning to increase the number of students accessing postsecondary education. In support of GAC each year, the Governor has proclaimed November to be Georgia Apply to College Month.
Many schools within Georgia waive their application fees during the month of November. In support of this initiative, the counseling department will be encouraging our seniors to apply to at least one college in the month of November.
