Rejoice!

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Covid 19 protocols

Trinity Christian High School will follow the CDC guidelines to monitor any and all COVID-19 cases.  You should expect to receive an email notification from the Nursing Team if your student shares a class(es) with the positive student/teacher.  If you would like to know the seating arrangement of your student’s classes in regards to their proximity to the positive student, please reach out to Kimberly.Jones@tcslions.org  To help expedite the response, please be sure to state your student’s name and grade level in the email inquiry.

Illness

During this time of heightened concerns over sickness, the current policy at TCS is to return to school when: symptoms improve and the student has been fever free without fever reducing medications for 72 hours. If you have any Covid related questions/testing/symptoms...please reach out the nurses at nurses@tcslions.org.

Absences

Healthy students are the ultimate goal, so please do not worry over a student’s need to miss class. The faculty is committed to working with students and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in their academics, so students should not attend school online or in person if they are ill.  If a student is going to be out for an extended period of time, the nurse will advise them on how they can enter the distance learning program. This program is designed to provide students who feel well enough to “attend’ classes online the opportunity to stay connected during their absence. IF a student is too sick to attend online classes, they should not attend and just focus on feeling better. During their stay at home students will be marked DL (distance learning) which means that they are present in the online class and AU (absent) when they are not in attendance. If a student has a technical difficulty which keeps them from attending, they should contact their teacher via email to explain that they were trying to come to class and inquire about the missed work.

Parents should continue to send notes to excuse absences to denise.ayers@tcslions.org.

Mrs. Ayers will update Renweb at least two times per week, so that the attendance will reflect correctly in Renweb. Please allow her time to enter the excused absence into the system, but if you have questions, feel free to reach out to her.

**Please note that It is the student’s responsibility to connect with their teachers about how to make up any missed work. If students feel overwhelmed about making up missed work, they should communicate with their teachers. Every teacher is more than ready to help students and give them the help they need to understand the material.

Spring Pictures

Are you wondering about spring pictures from last school year/Spring 2020? Please email Stacy at specialtyphoto@bellsouth.net and copy tracy.harrleson@tcslions.org on the email inquiry so that we can assist on our end with that information.

SAT Onsite Testing

We will be offering the SAT here on our campus on Wednesday, Sept 23rd! Students who register will come to our campus and test here in our classrooms! How great is that?! This will be early enough to fulfill most college admissions deadlines. Seniors have priority for registering, we have enough for every senior to test, but you MUST register by Sept 3rd or we will give your test to a junior who is interested. Complete the short google form below to register.

Computer Applications credit

Exciting news! Throughout this global pandemic, our students have been forced to master new technology skills, embrace new learning techniques, and figure out how to navigate remotely. Therefore, for all students that were enrolled in TCS High School from March 2020 - May 2020, we will be awarding a 0.5 Computer Applications credit! This will go toward fulfilling the CTAE elective requirement. We recognize that many things have been a challenge and our students have missed out on traditional learning opportunities, so we wanted to honor them by recognizing the hard work they have put into mastering this new technology content!

 Lights, Camera, Action, Credit!

We have a new flex offering that allows students to earn high school credit towards the elective requirements for graduation.  This credit can be earned by time spent working on theatre productions throughout the school year.  If you are interested in lighting, sound, design, marketing, set building, costumes, and more, please email Kelsi.adams@tcslions.org to sign up!

DROP/ADD DETAILS

Students have until Sept 3rd to request a drop/add for any high school course. Please note that we cannot guarantee any particular requests, but we will ensure each student has a schedule to promote success.
