Events & Announcements

We are continuously making adjustments across the campus to creatively and effectively meet the needs of the Trinity community.  We have already been at work to think outside of the box, pray for opportunities, and remain faithful to expanding our territory of influence for the next generation to impact today’s student for tomorrow’s world. 

One of the challenges that we will face this year is the number of parking spaces that are available on campus.  It is important to keep in mind that with student growth comes faculty and staff increase so that we are careful to not compromise what we refer to as “The Trinity Way!”  

We have been creative with the space that is available for us to open up for additional parking, but unfortunately, we will still come up short on our total need.  The good news is that we will have parking spaces open for all Junior and Senior students and will continue with offering open campus privileges for these students. Unfortunately, because of the shortage of spaces,  students enrolled as 9th and 10th grade students will not be able to obtain a parking permit and therefore will not be permitted to drive on campus at this time.  

Our efforts have been extensive throughout the course of the summer to address this matter at hand.  We have now reached the point that all options in order to provide resolution to this matter have been exhausted. Please know that we will continue to work on this issue, under the direction of our Director of Operations, Chris Hanson, as we understand the impact that will have for some of our population.

Welcome to the ROAR New Family Orientation August 5th - this will be a time of fellowship with all of our new families that are joining TCS.  New students will be able to walk their schedules, meet their teachers, and pick up their course syllabi.

First Day of Classes August 10th - if you are unable to attend the all school orientation, plan to arrive before your first scheduled class.

FOR SENIORS ONLY

The Student Council has planned for the Class of 2022 to kick off their first day of their senior year with a dress up day rather than dressing down! Girls in pearls and guys in ties is the theme for Tuesday,August 10th!  Keep in mind that this is for SENIORS ONLY. An email from the Student Council will contain all of the specific details and guidelines.  IF you chose to not participate, just plan on following the regular school dress code. 

The Class of 2022 will participate in an exciting time of fun, fellowship, and games on Wednesday, August 11th.  This is an off campus event as breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Senior students and parents should expect to receive a detailed email with details regarding this event for our seniors from our Director of Student Development, JP Weaver.

GO Week is back!

We are full speed planning for GO Week trips for the first full week of January 2022. This is a week-long opportunity to serve with other students internationally, domestically, or locally. The heart of TCS High School is to see our students fulfill the Great Commission and share the love of Christ to others. GO WEEK will also offer opportunities for students to engage in educational excursions that will allow students to experience different cultures and world views. Some of our trip opportunities will include Jamaica, Costa Rica, Europe, Panama City Beach, and New York to name a few.

New School Wide Management Information System

This will be a one stop shop for our teachers, parents, students, and entire community. Details for how to access courses, schedules, and other specifics will be posted in a later edition of Inside the Pride.

Schedules will be available on August 2nd in Blackbaud.  If you would like to make a change to your schedule, please first fill out the following change request form:

School Supplies?

Students will need to be prepared with the basics for high school classes i.e. pens, paper, and school issued Chromebook. A supply list is not provided at this time as these are course specific at the high school level. This information will be contained on the course syllabus provided by each course teacher at Orientation.

Dress Code? 

Now is a good time to begin getting those dress code essentials for the new year.  

Shirts

*Any collared, buttoned-down dress or polo shirt (solid, striped, plaid, checkered but not camouflage, or sheer). Shirts must be appropriately sized and neat in appearance. Students may be asked to tuck in their shirts if their appearance is sloppy. Oversized shirts are not permitted. NO graphics.

* White, neutral or matching undershirts, or turtleneck shirts may be worn under a polo shirt or button-down shirt.

* Button-down shirts must be buttoned up when worn.

Pants, Shorts, Capris, Skirts

• Khaki, black, gray, or navy blue Docker-style pants, shorts, and capris (girls only) – non-stretch cotton or cotton-twill only – with fly front. They must be tailored (not too large or too small) with proper hem. No sagging pants (a belt should be used to prevent sagging). No fraying or torn look; no carpenters, cargos, rivets, joggers or ankle bunching. Shorts must be no more than 5 inches above the knee (about the length of an index card). No swim style shorts or athletic shorts are allowed. 

• Khaki, black, gray, purple plaid or navy blue pleated, straight, or A-line skirts – non-stretch cotton or cotton-twill only. Skirts may be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee. 

• We require a chino style pant which is a 95-97% cotton twill type trouser that contains 3% or less spandex or other stretch fabric.

Approved Outerwear

*All outerwear (sweatshirts, hoodies, fleece jackets, and pullovers) must be TCS spirit wear purchased through the school store. Previously purchased outerwear through Coweta Sports is permitted. Note: Personal items that are monogrammed with a “T” are not permitted.

* Long-sleeved TCS t-shirts are not allowed as outerwear.

* Collared shirts should be worn under all outerwear to ensure a student remains in dress code if the outerwear is removed during the day.

* Outerwear not approved may be confiscated and returned at the end of the school day.

Footwear

* Shoes must be closed toe and closed back. No flip-flops or Crocs.

* Socks should be a neutral solid color that coordinates with the outfit. NO knee high socks for boys wearing shorts.

* Boys cannot wear boots with shorts, and pants cannot be tucked into the boot.

* Footwear should be in good condition without any writing or drawing.

Friday Spirit Days

Each Friday, students are permitted to wear blue jeans or usual dress code pants/shorts/skirts with TCS spirit wear purchased from the school store. Blue jeans must be blue and free from rips, holes, tears, etc.

Back by popular demand!

Students may wear a polo/collared shirt with the TCS logo on it (purchased from the school store) every day of the week with dress code approved blue jeans (no rips, tears, holes, etc). The school store sells regular cotton polos for $20 and the dri-fit Under Armour type for $30. Jeans may only be worn with a TCS logo polo M-TH. Otherwise, the regular dress code applies and Friday will remain as spirit day with TCS spirit wear and bluejeans

DRIVER PERMIT AND DRIVER LICENSE INFORMATION

GA Department of Driver Services (https://dds.georgia.gov/) requires the following original documents. The forms are good for thirty days from the day entered by the high school office.

My name is Taylor Bouma and I am from Mount Airy, North Carolina. I attended college at The University of Alabama. I was a Young Life leader for 4 years and that really helped me discover my love and passion for sharing the gospel with students. I majored in Exercise Science which helped foster my love of science. I am super excited to join the Trinity family and see what the Lord has in store for the 2021-2022 school year! Roll Tide!

My name is Isabella Causey and I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from Clemson University. I previously served as a volunteer for the Saint Frances Animal Center and served as a member of the CURE Organization at Clemson University. I thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Clemson University as well as serving alongside students and peers that were growing in their personal relationship with Christ. Although I reside in Atlanta now, I grew up in Georgetown, South Carolina which is located on the beautiful coastline between Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Coming on board to TCS is an answer to my prayers and I am eager to impact the lives of the students in my classes and across the TCS community.

My name is Christy Faircloth. I was born and raised in California, where I earned my degree in Exercise Biology from the University of California, Davis. After working several years as a personal trainer, I realized I wanted to be a teacher. I went back to school and earned my teaching credential in High School Science. My husband, Richard, brought me to his home state of Georgia 5 years ago. Trinity has always had an amazing reputation, and I am truly blessed to be part of the family. I cannot imagine a better place to work and have my children in school. I look forward to getting to know all the staff, parents, and students.

My name is Kayla Freund, I’ve lived all over the US, but I’ve been in Newnan for 15 years. I went to Northgate High School, then graduated Cum Laude from Piedmont College with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sport Science with a minor in Biology.  

For the past two years, I’ve been the assistant Girls’ Lacrosse coach here, and I feel so honored to step into the head coaching position. I’m equally excited to be the head coach of our new Girls’ Flag Football team — there’s something so special about that first, inaugural season.

In personal and professional experiences, I’ve learned that health is all-encompassing: mind, body, soul, and spirit. My goal is to teach students that we should be proud not of what our bodies look like, but of what God has created our bodies to do.

My name is Kyle Hilliard, and I am currently a resident of Locust Grove, Georgia. I grew up in a very small town in southwest Georgia where I received my High School diploma from Schley County High School. I am a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University. Additionally, I am currently working on my Master’s degree at Westminster Theological Seminary. I am married to my beautiful wife, Olivia, and we share our place of living with our Labrador retriever, Milo. I am very excited to begin this new journey with Trinity Christian. Correspondingly, I look forward to meeting each and every one of you in the near future.

My name is Devin James, and I was born and raised in Griffin, GA. In undergraduate school I majored in Biology at Lagrange College, and swam all four years. After graduation, I went on to graduate level courses in Parasitology at Valdosta State University. I spent the next several years teaching, coaching and spreading my love of swimming and science. Most recently I've been working in a clinical lab. I have a beautiful wife named Noel and we are expecting our first baby boy in September.

Hi! My name is Natalie King, and I am so excited to join the Trinity Christian School community. Originally, I am from Sacramento, California—and I hold strongly to my title as a California Girl—but I have lived in the peachy state of Georgia since high school. 

I am so proud to have earned both a Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education and a minor in Creative Writing at University of West Georgia, and look forward to using my skills to help your students flourish.

At home, I spend my time reading Fantasy / Sci-Fi novels, cuddling with my twelve-year-old cat, Gracie Lou Freebush, and keeping my six-year-old pointer mix, Kingsley King, out of trouble.

I look forward to working with all of you this coming year and helping your students find their voices through the written word.

I am a native of Georgia and grew up in Peachtree City! I graduated from Columbia International University and the University of South Carolina, and have taught English (high school and middle school) for the past 15 years. Additionally, I have been a professional editor for the last 25 years. My husband, Tony, and I have seven children, two of whom will be seniors at TCS this year! I love to read and write and am so very excited to share that love with my students!

I am a native of Fayette County and graduated from Georgia State University with a B.F.A with an emphasis in Interior Design. I have worked for two small design firms on the Northside of Atlanta, started my own design business, and then taught art at a private Christian school. I am excited to join the Trinity family. My husband, Roby, joined the TCS team of staff last year in middle school PE and coaching football. We have 2 children, Jackson will be in the 9th grade and our daughter Avery will be in the 7th grade. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, DIY, and design projects.
