Events & Announcements

There is no doubt that we have expanded our territory of influence for the next generation to impact today’s student for tomorrow’s world. We are eager to start the 21/22 school year and excited to have all of our returning and new students together on campus! 

As mentioned previously, one of the challenges that we will face this year is the number of parking spaces that are available on campus. We have been creative with the space that is available for us to open up for additional parking, but unfortunately, we will still come up short on our total need.  The good news is that we will have parking spaces open for all Junior and Senior students and will continue with offering open campus privileges for these students. Unfortunately, because of the shortage of spaces, students enrolled as 9th and 10th grade students will not be able to obtain a parking permit and therefore will not be permitted to drive on campus at this time.  

We will continue to work on this issue, under the direction of our Director of Operations, Chris Hanson, as we understand the impact that will have for some of our population.  

Be sure that you review the arrival and dismissal videos.  It will be very important to follow this process to avoid any confusion and additional delays for you and/or others in the line.  Having staggered arrival and dismissal times helps the process and flow for the entire campus, that is roughly 1500 people including staff and students.  Please keep in mind that we have staggered dismissal times at the high school.  Students with early release should go ahead and be dismissed from campus. Any student that absolutely is unable to be dismissed at that time will need to remain in the student lounge and will not be permitted to wander the campus. The final high school dismissal time for students will be at 3:15pm, which means that they are not exactly ready to pick up at that time.  We would suggest that you plan to arrive on campus no earlier than 3:30pm to pick up your high school students.

Save the Date

First Day of Classes August 10th - if you were unable to attend the all school orientation, plan to arrive before your first scheduled class so that you can pick up your Chromebook (9th grade and new students only).

FOR SENIORS ONLY

The Student Council has planned for the Class of 2022 to kick off their first day of their senior year with a dress up day rather than dressing down! Girls in pearls and guys in ties is the theme for Tuesday, August 10th!  Keep in mind that this is for SENIORS ONLY. An email from the Student Council will contain all of the specific details and guidelines.  IF you chose to not participate, just plan on following the regular school dress code. 

The Class of 2022 will participate in an exciting time of fun, fellowship, and games on Wednesday, August 11th.  This is an off campus event as breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Senior students and parents should expect to receive a detailed email with details regarding this event for our seniors from our Director of Student Development, JP Weaver.

Chapel

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. What a blessing to be a worshiping community. TCS parents, students, and teachers have God stories that converge on our campus each week. One way we celebrate the goodness of God as He shapes those stories is in our high school chapel times on Thursdays. We ask that you be in prayer for the hearts of the students as they return. Pray for those who already have a stellar relationship with Jesus that they become leaders, pray for those who have a tepid relationship to catch fire, and pray for those who have no relationship to encounter the crucified and risen Lord. Pray that God and His word are exalted, that the hearts of students are ready to receive powerful music and biblical teaching. And finally, pray for our speakers each week.

• Dr. Mark Anthony will be our first speaker on 8/12

• Kimmy Jones will be our second speaker on 8/19.

These two have a pervasive spiritual influence on our campus. Please pray for them as they prepare.

GO Week is back!

We are constantly reviewing the state of our world and travel guidelines/restrictions as we planning for GO Week trips during the first full week of January 2022. This is a week-long opportunity to serve with other students internationally, domestically, or locally. Some of our trip opportunities will include Jamaica, Costa Rica, Europe, and Panama City Beach to name a few.

Counseling Department Dates

Dual Enrollment Informational Meeting: Thursday, August 19th,  Lunch in the Spanish Suite. For ALL Dual Enrollment students.

Financial Aid Workshop: Tuesday, August 31st 6:30 - 7:30pm in the High School Multipurpose Room. A representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will share important information and details regarding college financial aid.

Personal Appearance Reminders

Please take time to review the posted bullet points that are listed in the handbook. 

• BOYS – no pierced jewelry is allowed on campus or at school-related functions.

• GIRLS – pierced jewelry is limited to earrings with a maximum of two per ear (no nose piercings).

• Tattoos of any nature cannot be exposed on campus or at school-related functions.

• Hats are not permitted to be worn on campus.

• Hair should always be clean, neat and well groomed.  No extreme haircuts or colors.  

• BOYS – hair length can be no longer than to the collar or halfway down the ear and must be off the eyebrow.   No ponytails.

Dress Code

Shirts

*Any collared, buttoned-down dress or polo shirt (solid, striped, plaid, checkered but not camouflage, or sheer). Shirts must be appropriately sized and neat in appearance. Students may be asked to tuck in their shirts if their appearance is sloppy. Oversized shirts are not permitted. NO graphics.

* White, neutral or matching undershirts, or turtleneck shirts may be worn under a polo shirt or button-down shirt.

* Button-down shirts must be buttoned up when worn.

Pants, Shorts, Capris, Skirts

• Khaki, black, gray, or navy blue Docker-style pants, shorts, and capris (girls only) – non-stretch cotton or cotton-twill only – with fly front. They must be tailored (not too large or too small) with proper hem. No sagging pants (a belt should be used to prevent sagging). No fraying or torn look; no carpenters, cargos, rivets, joggers or ankle bunching. Shorts must be no more than 5 inches above the knee (about the length of an index card). No swim style shorts or athletic shorts are allowed. 

• Khaki, black, gray, purple plaid or navy blue pleated, straight, or A-line skirts – non-stretch cotton or cotton-twill only. Skirts may be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee. 

• We require a chino style pant which is a 95-97% cotton twill type trouser that contains 3% or less spandex or other stretch fabric.

Approved Outerwear

*All outerwear (sweatshirts, hoodies, fleece jackets, and pullovers) must be TCS spirit wear purchased through the school store. Previously purchased outerwear through Coweta Sports is permitted. Note: Personal items that are monogrammed with a “T” are not permitted.

* Long-sleeved TCS t-shirts are not allowed as outerwear.

* Collared shirts should be worn under all outerwear to ensure a student remains in dress code if the outerwear is removed during the day.

* Outerwear not approved may be confiscated and returned at the end of the school day.

Footwear

* Shoes must be closed toe and closed back. No flip-flops or Crocs.

* Socks should be a neutral solid color that coordinates with the outfit. NO knee high socks for boys wearing shorts.

* Boys cannot wear boots with shorts, and pants cannot be tucked into the boot.

* Footwear should be in good condition without any writing or drawing.

Friday Spirit Days

Each Friday, students are permitted to wear blue jeans or usual dress code pants/shorts/skirts with TCS spirit wear purchased from the school store. Blue jeans must be blue and free from rips, holes, tears, etc.

Back by popular demand!

Students may wear a polo/collared shirt with the TCS logo on it (purchased from the school store) every day of the week with dress code approved blue jeans (no rips, tears, holes, etc). The school store sells regular cotton polos for $20 and the dri-fit Under Armour type for $30. Jeans may only be worn with a TCS logo polo M-TH. Otherwise, the regular dress code applies and Friday will remain as spirit day with TCS spirit wear and bluejeans
