We are super excited to announce that the Trinity baseball program will now be lead by Coach Tommy Gregg!
Coach Gregg grew up in nearby Winston-Salem, NC were he attended Wake Forest University playing both football and baseball and was voted on the All ACC Conference Team all four years. Tommy also won the ACC batting title both his freshman and senior years. During his Senior year, he was drafted in the seventh round by the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. In 1988 he was traded to the Atlanta Braves where he eventually became the best pinch-hitter in all of Major League Baseball in 1990. In 1991 he played in the World Series on the “Worst to First” Atlanta Braves team. Tommy also played with both the Cincinnati Reds and Florida Marlins organizations and afterward finished his professional playing career back with the Atlanta Braves in 1998.
Tommy began his professional coaching career in 1999 and continued for the next 20 years as a hitting coach/outfielder coordinator in the minor leagues with the Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, and Miami Marlins organizations. In all, Tommy has played and coached for over 33 years in professional baseball.
In addition, over the last 20 years, Tommy has spent time in the Newnan and Sharpsburg vicinity giving baseball/softball hitting instruction to area high school athletes and those younger.
Tommy now resides in Senoia with his wife Tonya, and his daughters, Jordan (2019 Trinity Graduate) and Rachel (upcoming Senior at Trinity).
