Chris Hanson - Director of Operations

We hope this finds each of you well and that you all had a great break with your families!  We wanted to give you all a few important pieces of information as we head into the new year at Trinity.  This is going to deal with our new trafficflow throughout campus during both arrival and dismissal.  Trinity is growing and that means that more and more people are driving on and off campus each day. We are initiating several changes that will improve the efficiencies of our drop-off and pick-up processes and eliminate vehicles backing up on the highways, overflowing the turn lanes.  Our goals are to improve safety and reduce your time in the car line.  We recently contracted with a traffic engineering company to conduct a study of the surrounding area as well as the flow on our campus. We are still waiting for the final study results, but a few things really stood out as they were doing the study that we MUST implement beginning this Tuesday, January 4th.  We understand there will be a learning curve for everyone, but we also understand this needs to be done to improve safety and your experience on campus.

We also have met as an administrative team, and one of the items that will be started beginning January 4th is the release of our High School students at the end of the day.  They will now be released from class at 3:30pm in order to allow the carline to move efficiently by keeping our High School students from walking through the carline during our peak hour of dismissal.  Early release High School students are encouraged to park in the lower parking lot when arriving on campus in the morning and after lunch.  In the event that there isn't a spot in the lower lot we ask that all early release High School students please park on the football field side of the roadway (Lions Way) so that they can exit campus in a timely manner.

Please see below for a few important bullet points to read over, and there is also a video that we please ask you to watch.

1.) Naming of roads throughout campus: Download campus map below.

  • Trinity Way - This road is the main road that comes off of 54 onto campus. This road will go up the hill and around the PreK/Church Building and through the West Parking Lot.

  • Homerun Drive - This road will be from the lower parking lot around the entire baseball field.

  • Lions Way - this is the back roadway that is off of Hwy 34 and goes up behind the multi use field (football, soccer, lacrosse, track) and will dead end at Homerun Drive.

Afternoon Arrival Schedule for Student Pickup

2.)  Things TO DO in Car Line:

  • Be alert and attentive

  • For arrival, have your students ready to get out with all their necessary items in a timely efficient manner

  • For dismissal, be in your cars ready to move at 2:45pm

  • Show up at 2:30pm for dismissal line (i.e. applicable to Elementary, Middle School and High School student pickups) See afternoon arrival schedule for pickups above.

  • Keep your cell phones out of your hands

  • Keep your eyes on our staff for directions

  • Follow all directions from Security or other Staff assisting with Traffic Flow

3.) Things NOT TO DO in carline:

  • Be on your phones or reading something

  • Not have your students ready to exit the car in the morning

  • Show up before 2:30pm to get in line (i.e. applicable to Elementary, Middle School and High School student pickups) SSee afternoon arrival schedule for pickups above.

  • Park at Heirloom or the Convenience Store/Gas Station and walk up to get your students from school

  • Have a full conversation with staff (not the time for chit chat)

  • Being rude to staff when you don't have your car tag and you have to go park and wait to go inside. This is policy even if you know the staff person.

  • Drive with reckless speed because you are frustrated with having to wait longer than you think you should. (This is becoming a huge problem and it puts the safety of our staff and students at jeopardy.)

4.) The Front (Main Office) will CLOSE at 2:30pm and reopen at 3:30pm

  • We ask that no one come to the front office between the hours of 2:30pm and 3:30pm. This is very important for our dismissal time as our front desk secretary has to ensure your students are getting to where they are supposed to be safely.

  • If you must check your students out for any type of appointment please do so before 2:30pm.

  • If you have to park due to not having your car tag please wait in your car until 3:30pm and then proceed to the Main Office to have your child called up to the office. One thing to remember, your students are hanging out with their friends in their dismissal rooms and are not worrying about if you are going to pick them up or not.

5.)  No parking in the Heirloom Parking Lot, the Lot behind the Auto Store, or the Convenience Store/Gas Station and walking through the carline to check your students out because you are trying to avoid the carline.  This is becoming a huge problem and really is a point of emphasis we received in the initial traffic study.  On another note this is really affecting the businesses and they have asked that we please manage this better.

Thank you for allowing Trinity to invest into your students and for your support as we look to continue to make this a school of excellence!

Happy New Year and GO LIONS!!!
