Events & Announcements
As you can see from this scripture we are called to be in the world but not to be 'of the world'. As Christ followers, we strive to live our lives like the example that Christ has shown us according to His word and to point others to His truth. In doing so, it means that we are not conducting ourselves by the principles of the world.
How is this possible, to not conform to this world?
It takes a mindshift, a change in your thoughts, and a transformation of your mind. This is accomplished through the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives, changing our hearts and minds from within.

Challenges from Chapel
It’s hard to believe we only have five chapels left in 2023. We kicked off the month of November with a meaningful time of worship and a powerful message from God’s word. Assistant Director of Student Development and Spanish Teacher Reed Shackelford challenged our students and staff with a message from Romans 6, teaching us that for those who are in Christ, we are no longer slaves to sin but to righteousness. We don’t seek to glorify God because we have to, but because we get to. Our identity is free sons and daughters of the King of Kings, so we must know our identity and walk in it daily. As the Westminster Catechism reminds us, the chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. May it be our joyful privilege each day to know God and pursue becoming more and more like Jesus, and to demonstrate His love and goodness to those around us. Thank you Mr. Shackelford, and thank you worship team for leading us as well.
Aviation Program to Launch at TCS
We are excited to launch an Aviation Program as a part of our high school offerings. The aviation program will be provided in partnership with The Thompson Family in honor of their son, Nolan Thompson, Middle Georgia State University (MGSU), certified pilots and others.
Students in the 11th-12th grade who have a 3.0 GPA or higher and have 6 or fewer demerits on the TCS behavior record are eligible to apply. Up to 24 students will be selected each semester to participate in this initiative. They will be re-evaluated for ongoing enrollment in the course each year. Transcripts will be reviewed by the high school leadership team. Additionally, students will need to apply and be accepted into the dual enrollment program at MGSU.
If you are a junior or senior and are interested in being considered for the dual enrollment program, please connect with Mr. Fourman directly. brian.fourman@tcslions.org.

SAT Spring Test Dates Released
Starting in 2024, the SAT will be a digital administration. Registration is now open for the March, May, and June test dates. Most colleges, including those that are test optional, consider SAT scores when making admission and placement decisions, and for certain scholarships. Your SAT score is a proven way to show what you’ve learned and stand out on applications.
Below are the upcoming test dates and registration deadlines for the spring administration of the SAT. You can find a test center near youto register. These seats will fill up, so don’t delay in registering in order to get the date that you would like. This mostly applies to juniors and seniors in preparation for college admissions.

November - Apply to College Month
Georgia Apply to College (GAC) is part of the American College Application Campaign, a national initiative of ACT's Center for Equity in Learning to increase the number of students accessing postsecondary education. In support of GAC, each year the Governor has proclaimed November to be Georgia Apply to College Month.
Many schools within the state waive their application fees during the month of November. The list of schools can be found HERE. In support of this initiative, the counseling department will be encouraging our seniors to apply to at least one college in the month of November.

Student Activities
For fun, the Student Council will be selling bags of candy corn for $1 during lunch on Monday.
If your house is overflowing with candy this time of the year and you want it out of the house, consider donating it to our Student Council organization. They will need lots of candy for their upcoming candygram sales during the month of December. There are bins for donations in both HS lobbies.
