GO WEEK
The question many students and parents have been asking over the past couple of weeks is, “is GO WEEK going to happen this year?”. The answer: YES! We plan to have GO WEEK but it is going to look a little different this year. International and stateside trips will take a backseat this year and we will NOT shut down academically for the high school during the first week back from Christmas break. We will be taking the month of January and the first week of February to impact our community! Students will be traveling on their designated day with their bible class. Students will experience community service at several partner locations, including bridging the gap, backpack buddies, hope global, and several more. We are committed to helping our students build their hearts for service. This year might look a bit different, but our impact will still be grand!
Chemistry Creations
These past few months the Chemistry students began and completed group projects. They worked in groups and imagined, created, calculated, and packaged our own creations. One of the requirements was for each product to be vegan and organic. The final group projects have demonstrated insanely creative ideas. The groups presented their projects “shark tank” style which added an extra fun element which was less nerve-racking for the students to present in front of the class.
“Altogether it was one of the best projects I've done and made me and also my classmates feel more like we've learned chemistry firsthand instead of just studying and taking a test. It was exciting to mix it up and create something with our classmates that we were very proud of.” ~ Carden S
“My lab partners are Mackenzie P, Grace M, and Sam T. We made an organic and vegan lip scrub. Using coconut oil, cane sugar, cocoa butter, peppermint essential oil, and mica powder we were able to formulate a product that exfoliates and nourishes your lips without doing any harm. This was such a fun project! And of course, making Sam do our demonstration for the class was a hilarious experience, too. “~ Sophia W
“My group and I made body butter. In my group was me, Dylan D, Gracie M, Tucker S, and Ethan T. We first tried to make lotion but it did not come out to the consistency we wanted. We took it home and worked on it and it eventually came to what we needed.” ~ Gracie W
Some of the projects include but are not limited to:
Deodorant that smells amazing
Charcoal toothpaste with peppermint flavoring
Lavender and eucalyptus bath bombs
Mint scented gelatin
Deer feed and special scent
Body Butter
Slime lotion hand sanitizer
SNS dip powder - micah free and with biodegradable glitter
The 1st ever Great American British Trinity Cookie Bake Off Challenge (GBATCBOC)
This was so much fun and added some extra Christmas cheer along with the competition. All contestants submitted a 3-5 minute (min) video of the bake in their home kitchen. The video presentation was to share with the viewers what truly makes their cookies exceptional. Then they individually saran-wrapped 4 cookies of each flavor to be delivered to the judges. (COVID Safety First!) There were 2 rounds & 2 cookies. The 1st cookie was the signature cookie. This is the cookie that has made you famous and would like to present to the world. The 2nd cookie was to test the culinary abilities with a secret ingredient. The "secret" ingredient - COFFEE - must be incorporated somehow int the cookie. The contestants were judged on 3 criteria: Taste, Presentation, & Texture.
Here are the results:
Top Signature Cookie : Kelsi Adams - Caramel Snicker-Doodle
Top Special Ingredient Cookie : April Oglesbee - Tiramisu Creme
Combined Overall Score: Grace Mudge : Frosted Sugar & Choco/Coffee Dipped
Honorable mention to Maggie Robbins for her use of unique ingredients & quality video. Tommy Stell for his quality in simplicity and his use of crowd support.
Great Job Everyone!

3 days until christmas break
We are changing things up and having some fun as we countdown to Christmas break! Here is what we have been up to for the “12 Days until Christmas break” and a look at what is ahead:
This Week:

12/15 - Tues. - Ugly Sweater Day
12/16 - Wed. - Athletic Attire Day
Here are the guidelines (you have seen these before):
Athletic shorts can be worn but must meet the fingertip rule - There should be no spaghetti straps or tank tops. Any tops that are low cut or have a low v-neck must have a modest camisole underneath so that the neckline is raised and there is not visible cleavage. Leggings may only be worn with a top that meets the length requirement for shorts (Fingertip rule applies)
Holes/rips/tears in jeans should not be above the knee
Mesh/see-thru tops should not be worn unless there is a full coverage top underneath it.
The fingertip rule for shirts, shorts, and skirts applies to every angle - front, back, and side view
Shirts should touch the top of the pants, shorts, skirt, etc - if you lift your arms and I can see your skin it is too short
Form-fitted/wetsuit style attire is not permitted
Bralettes do not qualify as a modest camisole underneath *wear with extreme caution
Hats may be worn
General Rule:
If you have concerns about your outfit...just pick out something else to wear!

HIgh School Chapel
Praise God for storming the shores of Bethlehem to fight for peace. Ron Edwards, our Bible Chair and Campus Minister, closed out the chapel semester by reframing the peace God offered at the first Christmas as “God invading His usurped planet to fight all oppositional forces and to establish the peace of God on earth.” He challenged the High School to join the fight for peace with one another. He firmly stated that “if Bethlehem’s Newborn came to fight for peace, then so should the born again!” Thanks Mr. Edwards. We are looking forward to next semester’s chapel themes.
The High School student body would like to give a shout out to Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters and the powerful message delivered by its capable leader Brody Holloway. We are thankful for men who pursue both the heart of God and the hearts of our students. Thanks Brody.
