TCS Hosts 1st Youth Soccer Night

On Tuesday, March 14th, Trinity hosted the 1st Youth Soccer Night in Lions Stadium. Little Lions from PreK through 5th grade were encouraged to come out wearing their favorite soccer jersey and be a part of the fun. Though it was very cold outside, almost 20 players with their parents braved the weather. The little lions were invited to walk out with the Varsity teams, sing the national anthem together, serve as ball boys and girls during the games, and even play in a mini scrimmage on the field during half time.

TCS Director of Soccer Mike Townson shared that he couldn’t be more excited about the future of the soccer program at Trinity. His goal is to continue building a strong foundation and a successful soccer program. Development of our youngest players will make for some great competition on our Middle School and High School teams in the future.

Soccer Youth Night was the first for our school but definitely won’t be the last. With Soccer being one of the most popular sports in the US and in the world, participation in this sport continues to be on the rise. Coach Townson shared an email from a parent whose daughter participated in the Youth Night, “Good morning! I wanted to thank you for providing the opportunity for the little girls to be on the soccer field last night with the big girls. My daughter is in second grade and loved it!! She was so nervous, but had a great time. She said Olivia talked to her about soccer and asked her lots of questions which made her feel at ease. She mentioned again, first thing this morning, about what a great time she had and she's ready to do it again. Thank you for all you do!” - TCS Mom
