TCS Academic Policy & Weekly Grade Checks for Student-Athletes
This message serves as a reminder and clarification of our existing TCS academic policy for all student-athletes. Academics remain the top priority, and athletic participation is a privilege that depends on maintaining strong academic performance.
Weekly Grade Checks
Grade checks are completed every Monday morning. This will begin on Monday, September 29.
If a student appears on the report, it means they have a low grade or are failing a subject.
All head coaches will be notified if a player appears on the academic list.
Policy Details
Academic Warning: Failing one subject places the student on warning.
Academic Probation: Failing two subjects places the student on probation. While on probation, a student may not participate in any TCS games until grades reflect passing scores.
Length of Probation: Probation lasts until the next grade check which again takes place on Mondays each week.
Extended Probation: If a student is on probation for three consecutive weeks, they will be removed from all sports participation (both practices and games) until their grades improve.
Multi-Sport Athletes: If a student on probation participates in more than one sport, they will be removed from their second sport for the duration of probation and may not attend practices or games for that sport.
We encourage all student-athletes to stay proactive in their studies, seek help when needed, and communicate with teachers regularly. Coaches and staff are here to support our players’ success both in the classroom and in competition.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping academics first.

The Lions Club
The Lions Club would love for your family to be a Lions Club Member and support our athletic programs at TCS. The Lions Club is our one and only Booster Club that supports all of our sports programs at TCS. We raise money through concessions, business sponsorships, family memberships, spirit wear, and our champions dinner in the spring. With these funds, we are able to fulfill requests submitted to us by your student’s coaches. These requests can be small items to large items that will be used for many years. Our Lions Club has grown a lot over the past couple of years and we can’t wait to see it continue to grow and gain support from all of our athletic families.
If you are interested in a Business Sponsorship please email Avery at sponsorship.lionsclub@tcslions.org
If you are interested in a Family Membership please email Ashley at memberships.lionsclub@tcslions.org
Athletic Academic Policy and School Attendance
A student must attend at least half of their academic day in order to be eligible to participate in an after school game. If a student has an excused absence that is accompanied by a doctor’s excuse or a pre-arranged, approved absence then this policy may be waived but this can only be approved by the Athletic Director and / or the Principals of the student’s building.
