Preparing today’s student to impact tomorrow’s world
The mission of the Trinity Christian School counseling department is to support the academic, personal, social, and spiritual health and well-being of every student. Our goal is to provide a safe and compassionate space where students can discover their God-given talents, make wise choices, develop their character, and be inspired to impact their world for Christ.
The counseling department’s yearly objectives include
Supporting students in the pursuit of their academic, career, personal, and spiritual goals.
Being an advocate and liaison for the student in interactions with teachers, administration, and parents.
Promoting positive relationships among students, teachers, parents, and the school community.
Leading classroom guidance lessons on a variety of topics, including course selection, graduation requirements, college planning, career exploration, and personal and emotional well-being.
Gathering and distributing pertinent information to students and parents on issues related to graduation requirements, college recruiter visits, college entrance testing and application timelines, SAT/ACT test prep options, dual enrollment, AP exams, scholarships and financing for college, and vocational pathways and opportunities.
We encourage and expect that our students will
Take charge of their own education by being an advocate for themselves in the classroom.
Seek to grow in their understanding of themselves as a unique person, created by God for a specific purpose.
Reach out to the counseling office for assistance as needed for academic, emotional, or college and career issues.
We encourage and expect that our parents will
Partner with the counseling team and other school leadership in the educational process.
Support academic progress by connecting with teachers and counselors regarding their child’s academic progress.
Engage with and lead their child in the post-high school planning process. This could include understanding and monitoring progress toward graduation requirements, helping their child explore college or vocational options, overseeing the college application process, completing necessary paperwork for college financial aid, and attending relevant programming provided by the school.
