I love Christmas music and one of my favorite Christmas carols is “O Holy Night.” The lyrics of this hymn tell the story of the birth of Christ. The song paints the picture of the world in sin and yearning, 'Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth!”
"A thrill of hope — the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn."
That thrill of hope is the love that heals us when we are hurting and it is the hope that the Lord is our shield and our strength. It is that thrill of hope that we are confident that we are not alone as HOPE has a name - Emmanuel! The world this song speaks of is the same world we see today. While darkness surrounds us and troubles exist, Jesus is here, a light shining in a dark place.
This still brings the thrill of hope today and it is the same thrill of hope that gives us meaning and purpose each and every day.
No matter what - may you experience the thrill of hope that God has for you! Merry Christmas!
END OF SEMESTER GRADES
Teachers are working diligently to grade the Mid Course Assessments for each student in each class. The final grades will be posted on the transcript and viewable to parents and students on January 8th at 4:00 PM. Any course that is not passed will have to be made up in order to receive the necessary credit for graduation. Students who fail a semester course will be notified by the counseling department of their options for credit recovery.
PE/Athletic Performance Class Uniform Update
Don’t forget that PE uniforms are available for purchase at the Roar Store.
LOCAL GO WEEK
Local GO Week will take place on January 2- 5, 2024 from 8am to 1pm. Students that signed up to participate in the Local GO Week opportunity have been assigned to a specific group that will determine the location of their service as well as the days and times. Be sure to review the Blackbaud Official Note that was sent out to share the specific details for your student as not every group will follow the same plan. Number of students and chaperones for each group will vary based on the location of service and the capacity/workload that can be managed by the local partnership.
Lunch will be served each day. Students should plan to wear the Friday Spirit Day attire each day of this week. This means Trinity T Shirts or polos and TCS branded outerwear along with jeans with no rips, holes, or tears. Trinity branded hats may be worn.

SCHOLARSHIP UPDATES
We continue to find new opportunities for scholarships for all types of colleges and universities across the country. Routinely make it a practice to review the scholarship document “Paying for College - Scholarship Information” in the Helpful Links and Documents section below.
aaOne new scholarship database we have added to the document is Student Scholarships.org. We have also added scholarships from Citizens Bank, Newnan Junior Service League, and Prestige Photography (Lifetouch).
Additionally, the League of Christian Schools is offering the Dr. Charles K. Smith Scholarship which can be applied to a select list of Assemblies of God colleges and universities.
