Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. ~Matthew 7:24-25
This verse is all about building a firm foundation in the Lord. From infancy to adulthood and every season in between, we are learning. As we gain knowledge, we should put what we learn into practice in our daily lives. The knowledge we gain helps establish a groundwork for living according to God's intentions for us. As we build this foundation, we'll face various challenges and distractions in life, but our steadfast connection to the Lord keeps us grounded and secure despite the storms that come our way. It is in Christ that we can have our firm foundation. If you have your faith in Jesus, He is the Rock on which we stand!
CHALLENGES FROM Chapel
Wednesday was our last chapel for the school year. We were led so well by our worship team. Our senior Bible teacher Ryan Tipton prayed a prayer of dedication over our Senior Class of 2024 as they move on to the next chapter of their lives. 10th grade Bible teacher Chris Paschal faithfully delivered a message from John 10, challenging us to be intimately familiar with Jesus’ voice as our Good Shepherd. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” [John 10:27] We must listen carefully for the voice of Jesus in the midst of the many voices and noises demanding our attention on a daily basis. We must be wary and mindful of false teachers and leaders who demand our attention but who aren’t worthy of it and should not be followed. Please join us in praying that our students will seek to know the voice of Jesus well by being in a growing relationship with Him. Pray that as He leads them, they will follow. Many thanks to all who made chapel such an impactful weekly environment for our students and staff this year. Special thank yous go to Principal Kimmy Jones for her vision and leadership, Jason and Stacie Moore (Worship Team), Chris Litton (Tech Team), Tim Hurt (Worship Team), Frankie Johnson (Facilities), Lady Grooms (Black History Month), the many TCS teachers and staff who preached God’s word, the pastors and leaders from our community who gave of their time to join us and impact our students with God’s truth, and the many students on our worship and tech teams who used their gifts, talents, and abilities to glorify God and lead us so well. It was a wonderful year, and we look forward to all that God has in store in 2024-2025!
