A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON

Looking ahead, we are extremely excited about this year’s middle school DISCIPLESHIP DAY. For those who are new to TCS, our Discipleship Day is a day-long event devoted to our student’s spiritual development. Listed below are several unique features about the day:

  • Breakout sessions led by guest teachers 

            and pastors at NCG Theatre

  • Multiple chapel sessions 

  • Tons of games and activities

This year is going to be built around our “boldness” theme as we take a deep dive into what I John has to say about living out our faith boldly!

QUARTER 1 SURVEY REMINDER

Here at TCS, we value the feedback of our parents as your thoughts and insight help us improve on the experience we are striving to provide to each student here at Trinity. We would be grateful if you would take the time to complete our Q1 survey to provide feedback on the first 9 weeks of school. Each year I read through every submission with a goal of growing and learning in my role here. I appreciate any feedback you would like to provide. 

JR. BETA CLUB INDUCTIONS

For the first time ever we have initiated a Jr Beta Club for our middle schoolers. Congratulations to our inaugural group this year of 7th and 8th graders. Student eligibility included the following criteria: 

  • 90 or above in Honors classes along with all 90’s in other courses

  • 94 or above in at-level Math and English with all 90’s in other courses

  • 90 or above in 1 honors class with a 94 or above in at-level Math or English with all 90’s in other courses

FAMILY NIGHT ON NOVEMBER 18

Our next family night is coming up soon! Remember, there will be NO HOMEWORK to complete and NO ASSESSMENTS to study for on this night. Enjoy the slower evening together as a family!

THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE

As you may notice, our 4th-8th graders memorize the same verses each year. These memory verses are selected intentionally based on the promises and truths they contain that are so relevant for our students as they learn to follow Goodness. Our hope is that these 20 verses will be remembered for years to come after being memorized for multiple years in Upper Elementary and Middle School. 

I Peter 5:8-9

v. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. v. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.


For Middle School Only: 

Distinction Requirements: 

I Peter 5:6-7 – Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

  • 6th Grade - Memorize v. 6-7

  • 7th Grade - Memorize v. 6-7 and quiz with no blanks

  • 8th Grade - Memorize v. 6-7, quiz with no blanks and write application paragraph

LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL

Mr. Vinson taught from I Peter 5:8-9 and shared the warnings and dangers of what it means to have Satan roaming like a roaring lion. Students were reminded that Jesus is greater than Satan (I John 4:4) and that ultimately we must fight back with our faith in Jesus.

LIONS OF THE MONTH: OCTOBER

For October, we are looking to highlight students who are striving to perform above and beyond in the classroom. Throughout Q2, challenge your child to do their very best and to even exceed expectations in all they strive to do over these upcoming weeks!

ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCES

The following steps should be taken for reporting absences for 4th - 8th grade:

  • Send excuses for absences, including doctor’s notes to attendance@tcslions.org.

  • Send PRE-ABSENCE REQUESTS (family trips, etc.) to Melissa Lanier (melissa.lanier@tcslions.org) via your child’s 1st period teacher. 

  • WHAT IF MY CHILD IS SICK AND ABSENT 1-5 DAYS? - Have your child connect with their teachers upon their return to the classroom. We will not send makeup work home for sick absences of this length through our Return to Academics program. 

  • WHAT IF MY CHILD IS SICK AND ABSENT 5+ DAYS? - Reach out to Melissa Lanier (Return to Academics Coordinator) so we can best determine a makeup plan for your child. Mrs. Lanier will help collect makeup work for you to simplify the process.

  • LESSON PLANS: Need to know what your child is learning in the classroom? Check the “Topics” section for each of your child’s classes. 

  • HOMEWORK: Need to know what assignments your child should be completing at home? Check the “Topics” section for each of your child’s classes. 

  • GRADES/PROGRESS: Need to know how your child did on their last assessment? Check the “Grade Detail” section for each of your child’s classes.

25-26 SCHOOL CALENDAR - Stay in the know about upcoming breaks and holidays. 

PRE-ABSENCE FORM - Submit pre-planned absences 5 days in advance for approval.

DRESS CODE POLICY - Note the minor changes/adjustments for this year. 

COMMUNITY SERVICE FORM - Reminder that all middle schoolers are required to complete 10 hours of service by May 2026.
