A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON

Welcome back for 2nd semester! We are thrilled to be back on campus and anxiously await all that the LORD has in store for us over this new calendar year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if there is anything I can specifically do to serve you better this semester. We consider it a great privilege to have your family here at TCS.

LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL

Mr. Vinson spoke on the Golden Rule from Matthew 7:12, emphasizing that we are freed to treat others like we wish to be treated, even if we never receive that treatment from others, because God is ultimately the source of all our good treatment.

JANUARY MEMORY VERSE: II Corinthians 5:20-21 (ESV)

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

LIONS OF THE WEEK

Returning next week

HABITUDES MOMENT

Ask your child about the new leadership images being introduced in Habitudes this month.

6th Grade:

Personal Laptop - What gets put in is what will come out.

Lesson Summary - Our minds work like a computer. They only spit out the data they have been fed. Garbage in, garbage out. Leaders are disciplined about what they store in their mind and heart.

7th & 8th Grades:

Pyrrhic Victory - Never allow situations to eclipse relationships.

Lesson Summary - Sometimes the cost of winning is so great that we lose more than we gain. Good leaders don’t fight every battle. They carefully consider what’s at stake in each encounter with others and then act accordingly. They never allow the situation to become more important than the relationship.

REMINDER: BRING YOUR MASK

Please make sure your child has a mask each day when dropping them off at school. Middle school students without masks will be charged $3 if a mask needs to be supplied.

QUARTER 2 GRADES AND REPORT CARDS

Final grades from the end of the semester will be made available online through RenWeb on Monday, January 11

MLK HOLIDAY

Don’t forget we will not have school on Monday, January 18 in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

MISSIONS EMPHASIS WEEK

The week of January 19 will be our annual Missions Emphasis Week at the middle school level. Each day we will have special chapel services that will focus specifically on the gospel and our call to share the good news with others. Please be in prayer now for this special week!
