A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON
February is a special month as we celebrate Black History in our history classes (and other classes too). One of our great desires here at Trinity is that our students would come to understand and value each and every individual as an image-bearer of God. One of the ways we strive to accomplish this is by celebrating the diverse ways that God has created us. We are looking forward to celebrating many of the African-American men and women who have been used by God in mighty ways to impact this world. Be on the lookout for ways we will be celebrating throughout the month.
LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL
Mr. Higgins kicked off our new chapel series looking at the topic of wisdom from the book of Proverbs. He took time to emphasize to the students the difference between man’s wisdom and God’s wisdom. Throughout Quarter 3 we will continue to teach our students to value the wisdom found in God through His Word.
JANUARY MEMORY VERSE: II Corinthians 5:20-21 (ESV)
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

HABITUDES MOMENT
Ask your child about the new leadership images being introduced in Habitudes this month.
6th Grade:
Personal Laptop - What gets put in is what will come out.
Lesson Summary - Our minds work like a computer. They only spit out the data they have been fed. Garbage in, garbage out. Leaders are disciplined about what they store in their mind and heart.
7th & 8th Grades:
Pyrrhic Victory - Never allow situations to eclipse relationships.
Lesson Summary - Sometimes the cost of winning is so great that we lose more than we gain. Good leaders don’t fight every battle. They carefully consider what’s at stake in each encounter with others and then act accordingly. They never allow the situation to become more important than the relationship.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
To celebrate, our teachers will be emphasizing important African-American figures throughout history, specifically using the words Foundation, Innovation, and Transformation to highlight roles and impacts each had on culture today.
Week of February 1 - FOUNDATION = Our teachers will be emphasizing African-Americans who were the first black individuals to do or accomplish certain feats that helped lay the foundation for others.
Week of February 8 - INNOVATION = Our teachers will be emphasizing African-Americans who were instrumental in creating new ideas, products and systems that have contributed to our culture over all.
Week of February 22 - TRANSFORMATION = History teachers will be emphasizing African-Americans who were "culture-changers" by their attitudes, actions and responses to "stand against culture in its wrongness.” (see Robinson House tagline)
G.R.A.C.E. DAY REMINDER
Similar to our Discipleship Day back in December, G.R.A.C.E. Day is a break from our normal academic schedule and is instead an intentional day of focus on the teaching of God's Word regarding the diversity seen in the creation of mankind. Students will have the chance to rotate through various teaching sessions related to the importance of showing GRACE to others in spite of our differences. In fact, we want to help our students learn to celebrate the ways that God has made us unique and different from each other while also learning to see the great unity we share together as image-bearers of Him! My hope is that our students will come to see the value of not only each of their classmates but also each individual human being they encounter throughout the remainder of their lives, regardless of that person's Gender, Resources, Ability, Color, or Ethnicity.

FEBRUARY FRENZY DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT
We are taking the fun of February up a notch with our first ever Dodgeball Tournament! Students will be competing on Wednesdays during the month of February for the chance to become champion of our tournament! 16 teams, crazy team names and colors...who will be crowned the victor? Stay tuned!
FAVORITE NFL TEAM SHIRT DAY
To celebrate Super Bowl Sunday, students are encouraged to wear their favorite NFL team jersey or shirt on Friday, February 5. Students may wear jeans or normal dress code pants/shorts.
LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL SCHEDULE

HONORS PLACEMENT FOR 21/22 SCHOOL YEAR
Please utilize this link to access requirements used for determining honors class placement for next year’s schedule. The placement requirements will apply to our current 6th and 7th grade students as 8th grade students will be placed according to the high school requirements.
UPDATE: 8TH GRADE RETREAT
Unfortunately, due to rising COVID numbers we are going to err on the side of caution and look towards the spring months for our 8th grade retreat to Snowbird.
