From football to Faith, Trinity Alumni David Dallas Is off to a great start!
By Samantha DePriest
David Dallas is well known as Trinity's star quarterback who was selected Region 4-A Player of the Year in 2020 and 2021 and helped lead the Lions to win their 1st State Championship in 2021. However, his love of Christ and for his family and friends stands out most when talking with him. David graduated with the class of 2022 and just completed his 1st semester at Georgia Southern University (with 4 A's and 1 B).
His family was at ELCA where his Dad, Kenny Dallas, coached football but after shadowing in our Middle School when his Dad was interviewing to become our Varsity Football coach, he went home and told his parents, "These are the guys I want to grow up with." He was so excited and begged his parents to come back the next week instead of waiting for the start of his 8th grade school year and has been a TCS Lion ever since.
David shared that he was inspired by the vision that Dr. Anthony and then Athletic Director, Chris Hanson, had for the direction of our school. He said he was encouraged by our High School principal Kimmy Jones and the way she served the students as the hands and feet of Jesus. Our current Athletic Director and Offensive Coordinator, Lance Duncan, was a constant source of support and David said was a pillar of Faith both on and off the field for him. And obviously his Dad, Coach Dallas, played a major role in shaping him into the young man he has become.
When asked what he would share with new students coming into Trinity this Fall, David shared that TCS is a place where everyone is made to feel welcome and included. Staff focus on excellence and help students become the best version of themselves. Teamwork is encouraged which helps teach students how to work well with others. He felt he was set up for success from day one. David also shared that TCS is a strong and supportive community and can be described as one big family.
The mission of Trinity Christian School is to help prepare today's students to impact tomorrow's world. David said our football program prepared him well to play next-level ball but most importantly, TCS prepared him spiritually. Bible teachers encourage students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus and to "Own Your Faith". David is grateful for the strong foundation from his years at TCS and is ready for what God has next in store for him and his twin brother, Josh Dallas, at Georgia Southern this Fall. We wish them both all the best!! Once a Lion, always a Lion!
