It’s Good to Be Home: TCS Homecoming 2026

By Samantha DePriest

Trinity Christian School celebrated Homecoming with a parade and pep rally this past Friday, October 2, 2026. The parade procession featured the TCS Drum Corps and Color Guard, all fall sports teams, Student Council floats, and Homecoming Court representatives as they made their way from the west side of campus to the stadium. The entire student body and faculty lined the parade route to cheer on the participants before gathering for an all-school pep rally in the stadium.

TCS alumna and reigning Miss Georgia Sophia Wootten was an honored guest in the parade as well. She graduated from TCS in 2023 and during her time at Trinity, she served as Student Council president, spoke at graduation, and performed in productions that included “The Little Mermaid,” “The Wizard of Oz,” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” Born with a cleft lip and palate, Sophia has undergone 20 surgeries in her first 19 years, including major reconstructive and jaw procedures. She has turned those experiences into a mission, advocating for accessibility and pursuing a career in pediatric audiology. She now studies Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Georgia, where she plans to continue toward a Doctor of Audiology degree. Wootten also founded a 501(c)(3) focused on disability advocacy and inclusion, and she recently joined Smile Train as a Youth Advocate. She was selected as the 2026 Miss Georgia earlier this summer.

Mrs. Candi Roberts, Director of Institutional Excellence at Trinity Christian School, will serve as the 2026 Grand Marshal of the TCS Homecoming Parade. Mrs. Roberts has graciously served Trinity Christian School in a variety of roles over the past 25 years, making a lasting impact on students, families, faculty, and the school community. She began her career at TCS as a first and second grade teacher before serving as assistant principal and later as principal of the entire school, which at the time included grades K–10. She then served as elementary principal for 12 years. During her tenure as principal, Mrs. Roberts helped lead the school through its initial accreditation process, an important milestone that she describes as a valuable learning experience that ultimately made the school stronger.

Now in her eighth year as TCS Director of Institutional Excellence, Mrs. Roberts continues to serve the school with dedication and a commitment to excellence. Her 25 years of faithful service and leadership make her a fitting choice to serve as the 2026 TCS Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal.
