35 Years, 35 Truths:
Planting Seeds of Faith for Generations to Come
By Samantha DePriest
Trinity Christian School is celebrating thirty-five years of God’s faithfulness in providing a Christ-centered education and preparing the next generation of world changers. Through prayer and preparation, the leadership team led by Upper Elementary and Middle School Principal Mr. Adam Vinson, developed a weekly focus of thirty-five truths to help develop and grow our students faith in grades fourth through eighth this school year.
Mr. Adam Vinson shares “Our theme for the 26-27 school year is “Trust the Lord”, taken from Proverbs 3:5. As we celebrate our 35th school year at TCS, we are using Proverbs 3:5 to remind ourselves and our students of the many reasons we have for trusting the Lord always. We look forward to teaching our students what it means to have the heart of a lion that trusts in Him through chapel lessons, D-group discussions, and more!”
Each Wednesday morning of the school year, time is intentionally set aside for students and teachers to dig deeper into scripture during Discipleship Groups (small group) and Chapel (large group). The school year has started off strong with a combination of TCS Bible teachers as well as pastors from local churches sharing truths and encouraging students to search for God’s character each week while learning from different books of the Bible. Throughout this school year so far, students have been learning foundational truths about the character and nature of God. Each truth serves as a reminder of who God is, why He is worthy of ones trust, and how knowing Him can strengthen ones faith.
#1 - He is Holy.
#2 - He is Eternal.
#3 - He Does Not Have Needs.
#4 - He Makes Himself Known.
#5 - He is Sovereign.
#6 - He Can Do Anything.
#7 - He is Always Present.
#8 - He Knows What We Cannot.
#9 - He Cannot Change.
#10 - He is Good.
#11 - He is Wise.
These 11 truths are helping students build a strong foundation of faith. The prayer is that these lessons move beyond chapel and into their everyday lives, shaping how they think, make decisions, face challenges, and love others. Mrs. Kacey Hanson, middle school teacher, shares “The more we know about who God is, the more we learn to trust Him.”
This reinforces the school verse for the year, Proverbs 3:5–6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." The hope is that these truths will take root in the hearts of students, reminding them that the God they are learning about in school, in church, and at home is the same faithful God they can trust every day.
