A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON

We cannot wait to see your kids back on campus this week as we start the 21/22 school year! May the LORD bless us tremendously during this 30th anniversary year of ministry.

*ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL ASSISTANCE*

Be sure to review the arrival/dismissal videos sent out by the school to help you in navigating the carpool lines.

Tips to Help During Arrival:

  1. Be sure to arrive early due to expected traffic related to the 1st day of school.

  2. If your child arrives before 7:40am they will need to go to the gym until they are dismissed to homeroom at 7:40am.

  3. If your child arrives after 7:40am they will need to go directly to homeroom.

Tips to Help During Dismissal:

  1. School releases at 2:50 for upper elementary and the dismissal process is expected to last at least until 3:40pm, but most likely longer due to it being the first day. We recommend not showing up right at 2:50pm.

  2. Have your dismissal card ready and visible to help expedite the process.

  3. If your child does not hear their number called, you will be directed to the Missing Lot (parking lot), and we will work quickly to retrieve your child for you.

*SUMMER READING FORM - DUE ON FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL*

USE THIS FORM TO CONFIRM THE COMPLETION OF YOUR SUMMER READING

Please plan to print the form and submit it to your child’s Reading/English teacher.

***REMINDER: Students who have completed their summer reading requirements by the 1st day of school will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card.***

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

Check out the current after school clubs we are planning to offer for upper elementary students this year. If you have any questions, please email Lisa Railey (lisa.railey@tcslions.org) who oversees all of our elementary clubs.

*NEW MISSING WORK/MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENT PROCEDURES*

We are excited to have Kasey Hanson, who serves as one of our 6th grade English teachers, serving in the role of RTA Coordinator (Return to Academics). Whenever your child is absent for an extended period of time (3+ days), Mrs. Hanson will be reaching out to you regarding makeup work that your child needs to complete. In addition, Mrs. Hanson will be scheduling times for your child to make up tests and quizzes to help reduce them missing classroom time upon their return. Generally, we like to schedule these makeup opportunities right after school. Please keep this in mind if your child ends up being absent. We will reach out to you about scheduling a time that works for your family schedule so we can get your child caught up. As a reminder, all Pre-Absence Forms may be emailed to Mrs. Hanson as well. Her email address is kasey.hanson@tcslions.org.
