As a school, our mission is to prepare today’s students for tomorrow's world.

The Skills Development Program (SDP) works to support that mission by offering individualized academic support for those students that have a diagnosed learning need. The goal is to ensure that students within the program have the necessary tools needed to be successful, both in and out of the classroom. A key focus for this program is to assist students in developing their independence and self-advocacy skills which are crucial as they move into the next phase of their educational and career journeys.

Lunch Deliveries?

It has become quite popular for students to order lunches to be delivered to the school.  We do not encourage this as standard practice for many reasons, but the main issue is that there are often delays in deliveries which impacts the ability to eat lunch prior to the start of the class post the lunch period. Additionally, we would like to limit the number of “outsiders” on campus during the school day. Please consider saving lunch deliveries for a special occasion to help us maintain a productive and safe learning environment.

OUT SICK? NEED TO COMMUNICATE AN EXCUSED ABSENCE?

Be sure to include Morgin Ross on all emails or notes being submitted for excused absences. Her direct email is morgin.ross@tcslions.org Mrs. Ross will be sure to update the attendance record within 24 hours to reflect the excused absence. It highly recommended that students connect with their teachers directly to make arrangements for completing any work that has been missed during the period of absence.

In order to receive advisement regarding COVID, quarantine, and to discuss documented medical needs, please submit inquiries to the TCS Nursing Staff at nurses@tcslions.org.

*PRE-ABSENCE REQUESTS (family trips, etc.) should be submitted by using the Pre-Absence Form found on Blackbaud. Forms may be printed and given to Tracy Harrelson in the HS office or scanned and sent to her directly at tracy.harrelson@tcslions.org.

Accessing Transcripts

Trinity Christian School has partnered with Parchment, a leader in eTranscript exchange, to send high school transcripts electronically, securely and confidentially, to colleges and universities of your choice. The service is available online, 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Students and alumni simply request a transcript and designate the academic institution, organization, or individual for which they would like to receive. Users will be notified when their request is complete and can also track the status of their request or view a saved copy of their transcript.

Students will receive an email inviting them to create their account. This short video demonstrates the process. Register for your account using a registration code** The registration code will be sent in a separate email directly to the student’s tcslions.org account later this evening.

Once registered, you can begin immediately requesting transcripts be sent. This will replace the former link/google form. All requests will need to be made through Parchment beginning October 4.

Parents can go to parchment.com and click Create Account at the top. Under Learners or Parents, click the green Create Account button. Create your parent account.

D-Groups

We have had a tremendous response to the 2021/22 D-Groups initiative. There are currently 23 HS teachers who have volunteered time to meet with God-seeking and scripture-hunting students. Furthermore, there are 122 students who affirm that they are already part of a functioning D-Group and about 140 who have said that they are either interested or might be interested in a D-Group. Considering that this discipleship effort is a grass roots, completely voluntary initiative on all parts, these are remarkable numbers.

Please be in prayer for the work God will do through these small ministry communities, for the teachers leading them, for the Bible Department’s wisdom in overseeing these groups, and for the hearts of the students who are participating (or will participate) in this initiative. The devil wants the hearts of your children. Let’s fearlessly pray to the God who permitted a Roman spear to puncture His heart so He could better pursue their hearts.

Chapel

Someone once said that BUSY is another way to say Buried Under Satan’s Yoke. TCS HS believes that one of the greatest satanic offensives is to keep our students distracted from the things that matter most. If Satan can fix their eyes on earth he can prevent their hearts from fixating on heaven.

This week we wrapped up our series “Can I have your attention please?” KC Lorow, a skilled expositor with the doctrinal courage of a lion and a pastoral heart of a shepherd, articulated the difference between the dream we are sold and the dream we should buy. He ushered us through key moments in the life of Joseph (Gen.37-50) but particularly the events in Genesis 41. Joseph reached the pinnacle of an enviable earthly career. He was at the occupational summit surveying the whole world from a position of privilege and power. KC warns that this is the moment to pray for Joseph rather than praise Joseph. This son of Jacob can become a powerful man in a nation that is now a dusty archaeological destination or he can follow the King of kings and Lord of lords into an eternal future without rival and without end. What do we most want for our kids? What do our kids most want? They are sold an earthly dream but we want them to dream bigger. We want them to fixate on eternity. Thanks KC!!!

Please be in prayer for two upcoming messages, Angel Maldonado for Hispanic Heritage month and Natalie Bacho for National Driver Safety Awareness.
