Hebrews 11 tells us what it means to have faith and obtain life. This scripture is the very definition of faith. Those with true faith accept God’s word, focusing on assurance about what we do not see, looking beyond the situation as it can be perceived by natural vision. Faith and obedience go together as we place our confidence and trust in what is unseen and not what is unknown. Keep in mind that your faith is a testimony to the world. How strong is your faith?

BLACK HISTORY MONTH AND G.R.A.C.E. Week

We’re excited to celebrate our diversity during the month of February with a special focus on black history. We will also be incorporating our G.R.A.C.E. acronym into all Bible classes during the first week of February as well. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing information related to our classroom focus, but in the meantime, check out what G.R.A.C.E. stands for at Trinity high school.

What does G.R.A.C.E. mean?

G.R.A.C.E. is about better understanding how each of us is made in the image of God and how we should treat each other in light of that truth. While we are different in our G-ender, in our R-ace, in our A-bility/Disability, in our Culture, and in Economics, we all deserve the respect and appreciation of others as image bearers of God. Ultimately, it is in our differences that we are able to bring God great glory and celebrate His workmanship!

Welcome Vernon Strickland - Guest Speaker

Special Assembly - February 8

Vernon M. Strickland is a native of Newnan, Georgia, and an alumnus of Georgia Tech and The Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Having faced and overcome major challenges beginning early in his life, Vernon knows about perseverance, diligence, and faith. At the age of 14, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and given a prognosis of less than 15% chance of survival. At age 16, he lost his 9- year-old sister in a tragic car accident where he was the lone driver. With help from the community, he beat the odds of the disease, overcame debilitating grief from the loss of his sister, enrolled in college to become an engineer and walked on to play college football at Georgia Tech, where he joined the team as the sixth-string weak side linebacker. Persevering to play under three different head coaches, he eventually became a team captain at Georgia Tech, and although he never started a game on defense or offense, he went on to play professional football as a linebacker for the New York Giants and San Francisco Forty- Niners of the NFL, and the Berlin Thunder of NFL-Europe. Today, Vernon is managing partner with the law firm of Strickland Debrow LLP, which launched in July of 2022, where his practice concentrates in the areas of civil litigation, intellectual property, and employment law, handling high-stakes matters in Georgia and nationally. Vernon is also an adjunct professor for the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech. He is the proud husband of Mak Strickland, and a proud father of two, Drake (age 14), a professional child-actor, and Emmerson Rose (age 12), a 400-meter and 800-meter runner and three-time USATF Junior Olympic All- American.

We are eagerly awaiting to hear the word that is placed on Mr. Strickland’s heart to share with the TCS HS population in an upcoming special assembly that will be held on February 8th. We will follow the modified schedule below:

Flat Creek Country Club is known for its stunning decor and exquisite cuisine and since it is a wedding venue as well it makes a great place for before prom photos. The country club has a large patio that overlooks the beautiful golf course for those who may need a spot to cool off from breaking a sweat from dancing. Lunch Time Fun

With February being the love month, we want to see how much students really love Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. Therefore, based off the commercial What would you do for a Klondike Bar?, we want to see what silly and embarrassing dares our students will do in front of the school for a Chick Fil A sandwich. The Student Council has set aside Wednesday, February 8th for this lunch time entertainment.

Selling Carnations

Starting February 6th, Student Council will begin selling carnations for $1 so students can make another person's day by surprising them with a flower and handwritten note.

Sale Times will be:

7:50 - 9:00 in building 1 lobby and building 5 cafeteria

4th period in building 1

Upcoming Dress Down Day

The HS will be participating in the school wide dress down day on Friday, February 10th. All students may wear a shirt or sweatshirt featuring their favorite sports team to celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl Sunday.
