Events & Announcements
All His promises, whether past, present, or future, are secured in His unchanging character and unchangeable Word. We have confidence that His word is the same yesterday, today, and for all of the days ahead. We have the overflowing and unfathomable peace of God within and the glorious hope that is ours in Christ, because of all He is to us, all He has done for us, all He is doing for us as we journey through life, and all that He has promised to us in the days to come.
During the month of February, we are excited to celebrate our diversity with a special focus on Black History. Diversity is woven into the fabric of who we are at TCS and this month provides us an opportunity to more intentionally study Black individuals that have been foundational, innovative, and transformational throughout history.

Vernon Strickland - Invitations Matter
Special Assembly - February 8
Vernon M. Strickland is a native of Newnan, Georgia, and an alumnus of Georgia Tech and The Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Having faced and overcome major challenges beginning early in his life, Vernon knows about perseverance, diligence, and faith. At the age of 14, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and given a prognosis of less than 15% chance of survival. At age 16, he lost his 9- year-old sister in a tragic car accident where he was the lone driver. With help from the community, he beat the odds of the disease, overcame debilitating grief from the loss of his sister, enrolled in college to become an engineer and walked on to play college football at Georgia Tech, where he joined the team as the sixth-string weak side linebacker. Persevering to play under three different head coaches, he eventually became a team captain at Georgia Tech, and although he never started a game on defense or offense, he went on to play professional football as a linebacker for the New York Giants and San Francisco Forty- Niners of the NFL, and the Berlin Thunder of NFL-Europe. Today, Vernon is managing partner with the law firm of Strickland Debrow LLP, which launched in July of 2022, where his practice concentrates in the areas of civil litigation, intellectual property, and employment law, handling high-stakes matters in Georgia and nationally. Vernon is also an adjunct professor for the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech. He is the proud husband of Mak Strickland, and a proud father of two, Drake (age 14), a professional child-actor, and Emmerson Rose (age 12), a 400-meter and 800-meter runner and three-time USATF Junior Olympic All- American.
Mr.Strickland will be sharing a message with the high school population entitled “Invitations Matter”. We will follow the modified schedule below:
Re-enrollment and Planning for Next Year
Thanks to you there has been a tremendous response for re-enrollment for the 23/24 school year! These numbers are indicative of your desire to continue to remain a part of the Trinity Way!
As you are aware from the Re-enrollment details there are some adjustments and additions that are being made that impact the high school population.
Here are some details that will help with clarity in understanding "what happens with lunch and driving privileges now that SAGE is required for 9-11th grades???"
Juniors and Seniors will still be permitted to drive on campus and obtain a parking permit
Next year we will move to Senior only off campus privileges to improve our safety and security protocols and to maximize academic time.
9-11th grade students will remain on campus for lunch as per the implementation of the new dining plan with SAGE and we will offer two lunch periods - this helps with ample time for enjoying the meal and no more waiting in line to pay.
Seniors may opt in to the dining plan but will have off campus privileges
A full service kitchen will be added at the main high school building (an example of the array of healthy and popular food options can be reviewed on our website under the elementary and middle school lunch offerings as they have been able to receive the full service offered by SAGE this school year)
High school students will be able to enjoy all of the meal options with multiple visits as desired at one daily rate rather than the a la carte option that is currently available
We are transitioning to a new high school schedule next year to reach a main goal of increasing the seat time for our students. There are many benefits to the new schedule, one of which is giving us time for two lunch periods each day.
This transition will take us from a traditional 7 period schedule to a modified block schedule with a skinny day. This schedule keeps us operating from 7:30am - 3:30pm each day with students receiving .5 credit each semester.
Check out the new schedule!
We will continue to share additional details throughout the coming weeks; however, If you would like to hear more about the benefits and details or our new schedule in person, feel free to use the link below to sign up for Cup of Joe with Kimmy J on Thursday, Feb. 9th at 8:30am.
Valentines Celebrations
Lunch Time Fun
With February being the love month, we want to see how much students really love Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. Therefore, based on the commercial What would you do for a Klondike Bar?, we want to see what silly and embarrassing dares our students will do in front of the school for a Chick Fil A sandwich. The Student Council has set aside Wednesday, February 8th for this lunch time entertainment.
Selling Carnations
Starting February 6th, Student Council will begin selling carnations for $1 so students can make another person's day by surprising them with a flower and handwritten note.
Sale Times will be:
7:50 - 9:00 in building 1 lobby and building 5 cafeteria
4th period in building 1
Lunch in building 5
Fifties Day Celebration
On March 9th, we will celebrate our last 50 days left of school 1950’s Style. Students are encouraged to wear outfits you would see from the 1950’s. On this day we plan to decorate our school and cafeteria like a Fifties Diner. In addition, we will sell coke floats and entertain the students with popular music and games from this fun time period.
Upcoming Dress Down Day
The HS will be participating in the school wide dress down day on Friday, February 10th. All students may wear a shirt or sweatshirt featuring their favorite sports team to celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl Sunday.
