Events & Announcements

In the middle of your storm, you aren’t alone. When we lose our way we have a loving shepherd ever present to show us the way. You see the Lord doesn’t just point the way through – He *leads* the way through.  He is with you right now and He *is* The Way through.

NEW PRACTICE LOT - MARCHING LIONS

We have exciting news!  Our Marching Lions now have a practice area in the West Student Parking Lot!  We have lined this lot, similar to what many other schools with marching bands do, and our band can now practice their field formations here after school.  This will help this growing program continue to learn and enhance field shows and work on their marching basics.

What does this mean for you?  If you are a student who drives to school, we would ask that during marching season you do not park in the first section of this student lot beyond 4pm.

Challenges from Chapel

This past Wednesday our high school population had the opportunity to wear red and black in honor of World Sepsis Day, and most importantly we were able to honor Natalya Manhertz, a beloved member of our TCS family, as she continues to rehabilitate following a long battle with sepsis. Our students and staff raised funds to support the Manhertz family, and we were blessed to hear a challenging message from our high school principal Mrs. Kimmy Jones. Mrs. Jones challenged us to trust God in the midst of the storms we face. Rather than fixing our eyes on our circumstances, we must fix our eyes on Jesus and fully depend upon Him no matter what we’re facing. We sang songs of praise and confidence in God together, and we prayed for and continued to stand with Natalya. It was a truly powerful time. Please continue to pray for God to move in chapel as we experience His presence each week!

Tickets will go on sale in September

Dates and Dress and Distinctions - Trinity Christian School holds to a biblical worldview that shapes our conservative understanding of both gender and sexuality. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct genders work together to reflect the image of God. (Gen. 1:26-27) All TCS policies are intended to provide guardrails for students as they learn and grow in their faith and understanding of who they are as image bearers of God. Student clothing, hairstyles, and personal appearance should be a reflection of their commitment to pursue lives built on and shaped by a biblical worldview as well as their commitment to abide by TCS policies. Believing that gender is not a choice but instead biological by nature, students are expected to both dress and present themselves in a manner consistent with their God-created gender. While the Scriptures do not give explicit instructions for one’s apparel or hairstyle, we are instructed in the Scriptures that we should seek to honor Christ in our lives. Our appearance is a very integral part of our daily lives. The dress code is not created just for the purpose of having more rules for the student but is designed to exercise their ability to follow guidelines for acceptable dress in their future workplace. It should also be remembered that a part of our growth is submission to authority.

We believe that God created the human race male and female and that all conduct with the intent to adopt a gender other than one’s birth gender is immoral and therefore sin (Gen. 1:27; Deut. 22:5).

Dress Code Guidelines

While we are not approving dresses this year, you must meet the following guidelines in order to enter the dance.  Attire will be reviewed upon entry and is at the discretion of the HS Leadership Team.

Girls’ Attire Guidelines:

  • No tight form-fitting dresses or skirts. The hemline at the bottom needs to be wide from front to back so that there is a good bit of space between your thighs and your dress.

  • Dresses should be of modest length providing full coverage (about 3 inches above the knee with bicycle shorts underneath)

  • Rompers are acceptable, but they must be fingertip length and non-form fitting.

  • No low necklines. Yet, before you pass on a great dress, consider adding some additional fabric that is not see through or wear a modesty panel. See the cute modesty panels they have on Amazon.

  • Make sure your attire does not have sheer see through material from chest down.

  • Slits should not go higher than 3 inches above the knee.

  • The back of the dress should be raised to not have any view or exposure of the small of the back. Use the natural waistline as the guide

  • Sides of the dress should fully wrap to the back and at a minimum to cross the midline of the side of the body

  • If dresses have lace as a top layer, the underlayer can not be close to  your skin tone because it gives the impression we are seeing your skin. This means that a nude/skin tone underlay is not approved.

  • Two-piece dresses are allowed, but must have no more than two fingers of space in between the top and the skirt, even while hands are raised.

  • GIRLS – pierced jewelry is limited to earrings (no nose piercings).

  • Tattoos of any nature cannot be exposed on campus or at school-related functions.

Guys’ Attire Guidelines:

  • Nice Casual pants free from holes, rips, or tears.

  • Collared button down or polo shirt (Must stay buttoned all night)

  • Ties, bowtie, sport jackets are optional

  • No pierced jewelry is allowed  at school-related functions.

  • Tattoos of any nature cannot be exposed on campus or at school-related functions.

SENIOR FORMAL PORTRAIT MAKEUP

MONDAY, OCTOBER 2nd

Building 1, Student Center

8am - 12pm

FALL PICTURE MAKEUP DAY

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13th

Building 1, Student Center

We ask that students wear a collared shirt, preferably one displaying Trinity’s school colors. The retake picture is what will be used in the yearbook. You will not be given an option to choose which picture you like better.

PSAT Administration

This school year we are adjusting how we administer the PSAT. Our fall administration will be on Monday, Oct. 16th and will be available for the 11th grade class only. The test is optional. Students wishing to take the test must sign up using the form that was distributed to them by the counseling department. There is an $18 charge for the test.

Testing will occur in the morning. Students will arrive by 8:00 with testing set to begin by 8:30. After testing, students will attend any afternoon classes or activities we have planned for that day. It is not a half-day of school. Students not taking the test should follow their normal class schedule for the day.

It is our recommendation that students take the PSAT at least once to practice for their SAT administration. Additionally, the PSAT is linked to the National Merit Scholarship for 11th graders and is a pathway to other scholarships based on the student’s score report.

We will conduct a spring administration for any in 9th or 10th grade who wish to participate this year.

College Financial Aid Workshop

The counseling department is hosting a college financial aid workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 10th at 7:00 pm in the Multipurpose room of the high school building. Ben Meadows from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will be here to discuss the Hope Scholarship, state aid programs and share details about the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aide). This will be an informative event for seniors and their parents looking at ways to pay for college.

Upcoming College Rep Visits

During the course of the school year, the counseling department will host representatives from various colleges and universities who wish to connect with our students. These visits are a great time to gather information about the programs these institutions offer. Visits will be conducted in the high school multipurpose room during our lunch blocks which generally run from 11:20 - 1:40. We encourage students to take advantage of these unique opportunities.

If you are a parent who is interested in connecting with a representative during this time, you are welcome to come. However, we ask that you set an appointment beforehand by calling our front office. This helps us to have  a record of your visit and so that the representatives can plan to meet with you and your child.

Here is a calendar of upcoming opportunities:

  • 9/21 - Mercer University

  • 9/25 - Georgia Southwestern State University

  • 9/28 - GA Army National Guard

  • 10/10 - Georgia College and State University

  • 10/17 - Covenant College
