EXCITING NEWS!

HS Students.jpg

One of our favorite times of year is when the team sits down to review the senior class transcripts in an effort to determine the class ranking for our graduating class. This year during the review, the top two students in the Class of 2021 shared the exact same CORE GPA!  This means that we had a tie for Valedictorian.

In this case of the tie, we conducted a review of the CORE numerical averages compared in order to select a top student.

Join us in congratulating our Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the graduating class of 2021.

Valedictorian - Matthew Fourman

Salutatorian - Lillie Parker

*CORE: includes English, Math, Science, History and Foreign Language. NOTE: The graduating class of 2021 has 2 Foreign Language courses required as part of the CORE curriculum

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPEL

Screen Shot 2021-01-03 at 12.39.38 AM.png

Ingredients for a perfect chapel: start with a flawless grandfather, mix in a skilled mathematician, and immerse it in powerful “Tennessee-down-home” preaching and you would get our beloved Tony Geasley. Our affable math teacher anchored our final message in our Chapter 11 series by highlighting the necessity of “Waiting Faith” (Heb.11:8-16). Here was a great quote: “If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you be willing to attempt? If you are attempting what God called you to do then you will never fail even though it might require great patience.” I need to lean into that!!!

We waited till the end of our series to hear you Tony and you were worth the wait, thanks! You can check him out here: http://livestream.com/trichurch/chapel.

GRACE Week (2/1-2/5)

GRACE.png

Generally, our Bible Department efforts are organic to our day-to-day operations but occasionally we set aside intentional events for specific purposes. GRACE Week is one of those events. The acronym in the High School stands for Gender, Race, Ability/Disability, Culture, and Economics. During the first school week of February, we are going to address these hot topics in our respective Bible classes as we have done the previous two years. Furthermore, Thursday’s chapel (2/4/21) will be dedicated to one of the core subjects. Although schedule wise our week is unchanged, content wise we have an intentional focus on the importance of extending GRACE to everyone despite our differences.

Here is a parent link if you would like to substantively join our noble efforts: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-u8me45l3U2LfR5tn5h_oOWpEK3I5F6HN4RlpzmIlmA/edit?usp=sharing

Black History Month

What a blessing to have Greg Washington, former team Chaplain for the Milwaukee Bucks and current Youth Pastor at Trinity Fellowship Church in Sharpsburg GA, agree to be our keynote speaker for our Black History chapel on 2/11/21. Greg graduated from Trinity Bible College in North Dakota with majors in both Church Leadership and Biblical Studies. He has served as the Youth Pastor and Executive Pastor at Parklawn Assembly of God in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Greg has been married to Tiffany for 8 years and they both have a passion to bring hope to others. We ask that you pray for him as he prepares to bring God’s word to us.
