Events & Announcements
At this time most schedule changes have been made and students should be well adjusted to their classes. We are quickly approaching the end of the drop/add period on 9/3/21. The drop/add period is a college-preparatory concept that serves to give students an opportunity to make schedule adjustments as needed. Our ultimate goal at the high school is for students to be in classes that promote their top success. Therefore, if for some reason you believe that your student’s course(s) should be adjusted, please connect with the course teacher and/or the grade level academic counselor.
BLACKBAUD
Blackbaud is a wonderful resource for our TCS population. Teachers are using this as the communication platform for sharing lesson plans, posting assignments, grades, and communicating any adjustments to the lesson plan. This is where you will be able to access gradebook reports for your student(s). Be sure that you have activated your “parent” account in Blackbaud. Then select your student name. This will allow you to access the dashboard which will provide multiple tabs to access the schedule, assignments, conduct, and official notes. If you scroll down on the page, you will see the section for grades listed by course. The total grade will be posted on this screen and by selecting “see more details” for each course you will be able to review the full grade report. Just like anything else, there is a learning curve when it comes to something new, so we are all working to become more adept at the different aspects of this robust program. If students are having difficulties submitting assignments or understanding assignments, lesson plans…, they should email their teachers directly for clarification.

Out sick?
Before we were thrust into thinking outside of the traditional education box due to a Global Pandemic, there was a time that students were just absent due to illness. We understand that there are times that students need to stay home so that they can gain some additional rest, recover from not feeling well, or need to stay home due to a family determined reason. These are situations in which the student should just be absent from school and can communicate with their teachers, review BB, and make up work that has been missed. Be sure to include Morgin Ross on all emails or notes being submitted for excused absences. Her direct email is morgin.ross@tcslions.org
Distance Learning (DL) can be made available for those students/families that have a COVID positive test and have been advised to quarantine. Additionally, students with Documented Medical Needs that warrant DL may benefit from this program offering.
In order to receive advisement regarding COVID, quarantine, and to discuss documented medical needs, please submit inquiries to the TCS Nursing Staff at nurses@tcslions.org
Nursing staff will respond to emails between 7:30am and 3:30pm. In order to not compromise the "Trinity Way", arrangements for DL will require a 24 hour response time. This will allow necessary time to develop the case specific plan for the student and ensure that the teachers are prepared to admit the student in DL.
Chapel
Abraham worshiped under the stars. David praised God in a cave. Lydia, in the absence of a synagogue, celebrated God by the river. Paul and Silas, with violated rights and bleeding backs, sang to their good God behind bars. The thief on the cross, though nailed in place, saw the Supremacy of the One next to him. God’s people worship regardless of circumstances. We worship because no matter what is going on around us, we proclaim the One who reigns over us. The TCS HS moved our worship service this week to the stadium but the God we worship has never moved from the throne. Praise His Name all you people!!!
Lion nation wants to thank Ken Adams, the Senior Minister for the Crossroads Church. He has led a church, influenced a county, and prepped countless people to engage in a discipleship culture. Today, he delivered a memorable and applicable message from 2 Timothy 2:1-7. He challenged us to be motivated like a soldier, disciplined like an athlete, and persevering like a farmer. Thanks, Ken. Blessings on your family and church.
Next week, Jeff Grenell, the founder of “ythology” (‘the study of youth’ and not a typo), will bring his unique brand of skill and experience to our TCS stadium. With 4 decades of youth leadership under his belt, we know that our students will be blessed. Please be in prayer for Jeff and his upcoming message.

HOMECOMING
Homecoming is coming soon! September 13th-17th
There is just something about students seeing their classmates and teachers dress up to participate in Homecoming Spirit Week! This fun tradition just sparks school spirit across the campus. Each day of spirit week has a different theme and this year, the themes are:
Monday - Pajama Day
Tuesday- Decade Day
Wednesday - Character Day
Thursday - City vs Country
Friday - Spirit Day (Homecoming)
*Spirit day themes above were voted upon by Student Council Members*
Here are the guidelines for Spirit Week:
Athletic shorts can be worn but must meet the fingertip rule. There should be no spaghetti straps or tank tops. Any tops that are low cut or have a low v-neck must have a modest camisole underneath so that the neckline is raised and there is not visible cleavage. Leggings may only be worn with a top that meets the length requirement for shorts (Fingertip rule applies).
Holes/rips/tears in jeans should not be above the knee
Mesh/see-thru tops should not be worn unless there is a full coverage top underneath it.
The fingertip rule for shirts, shorts, and skirts applies to every angle - front, back, and side view
Shirts should touch the top of the pants, shorts, skirt, etc - if you lift your arms and we can see your skin, it is too short
Form-fitted/wetsuit style attire is not permitted
Bralettes do not qualify as a modest camisole underneath *wear with extreme caution
Hats may be worn
General Rule:
If you have concerns about your outfit...just pick out something else to wear!
