Thanksgiving Celebrations

We are excited to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with our students on Friday, November 18th. Each grade level celebrates in a variety of different ways. See below for a general description of what your child’s class has planned. Please view your child’s Blackbaud class page for more specific details.

Preschool: It’s one of our favorite times of the year! Our littlest Trinity Lions will be blessing us with a special Thanksgiving themed performance. We ask that your child wear Fall attire. After performing, our preschool students will have a class party in the cafeteria. All events take place at our Go Church campus.

Preschool Performance Times:

  • 9:00am (Mrs. Farr, Mrs. Hickman, Mrs. Calvert)

  • 10:00am (Mrs. Calhoun, Mrs. Zarlenga)

  • 11:00am (Mrs. Byrom, Mrs. Judy, Mrs. Spurgeon)

Kindergarten: Our kindergarten students will celebrate Thanksgiving with a classroom party. Parents are invited to join us. Our precious kindergarteners have prepared a few fun surprises for their parents.  All activities will take place in your child’s classroom.

1st-3rd Grades: We are looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving in our elementary classrooms. Each grade will have fun activities centered around Thanksgiving. Students will also enjoy a Thanksgiving party in their classrooms. These parties will take place throughout the day and will be for the students only.

Last Week In Chapel

Last week in chapel we learned that God is with us in the storms of life. Pastor Kami taught the Bible story of Jesus calming the storm from Mark 4:35-41. In this passage Jesus directed the disciples to get in the boat with Him to cross to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. Jesus quickly fell asleep after a long day of teaching, and the disciples became overwhelmed with fear as a huge storm arose all around them. They woke Jesus saying, “Don’t you care that we are going to drown?!” Jesus rebuked and calmed both the storm and His disciples. From this Gospel account we can learn that storms come - even when we’re following Jesus. Storms don’t scare Jesus. And when storms come, we need to remember that Jesus is in the boat with us.

Our Bible verse was John 14:17b - “...And the peace I give is a gift that the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid."
