Last Week in Chapel

Last Week in Chapel

We’ve launched a new series called Forgive U, where students are learning about the power and importance of forgiveness. This week, Mrs. Randolph led our lesson, helping students understand that forgiveness is not always easy, but it is God’s plan for His people when they are wronged just as Jesus forgives us.

Our lesson focused on the story of Joseph (Genesis 37–45). Even though Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and faced many hardships, he chose to forgive them, demonstrating God’s love and grace. Through this story, students discovered that forgiveness is an essential part of every Christian’s life.

Power Verse: “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” – Colossians 3:13

We encourage you to continue the conversation at home by discussing times when forgiveness has been difficult and how God gives us the strength to forgive.

Last Week in Chapel

Last Week in Chapel

Last week in Chapel we had a great time as we finished our "Deal With It!" series, learning how to deal with life’s issues not our way or the world’s way, but God’s way. Pastor Kami taught about one of the biggest issues in people’s lives - stress! Life is full of stress, but thankfully Jesus is stronger than any stress we may face. When we are feeling stressed we can come to Jesus. We looked in God’s Word at the story of Jesus’ visit to Mary and Martha’s home. Mary stopped everything to sit and be with Jesus, while Martha busied herself with cooking, cleaning, trying to make things perfect for Jesus. In her stress she missed the point that none of that matters when Jesus is with us. He invites us to come and be with Him.

Whatchagaddaknow: “I will come to God’s presence when I feel stressed out!”

Power Verse: “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest…’” Matthew 11:28

The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

As we step into the fourth quarter of the school year, we are excited for all the wonderful experiences ahead! This final stretch is filled with special events that will create lasting memories for our students and families. From fun celebrations to meaningful learning opportunities, there is so much to look forward to!

While we enjoy these moments, we also remain focused on academics. This quarter is crucial for reinforcing skills, preparing for transitions to the next grade level, and celebrating the progress our students have made. We encourage your continued support at home in reinforcing good study habits, reading together, and staying engaged in your child’s learning. As Colossians 3:23 reminds us, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." We encourage our students to give their best effort in all they do—both in their studies and outside the classroom.

Be on the lookout for event details coming your way soon! We appreciate your partnership and look forward to a fantastic fourth quarter together!

Last Week in Chapel

Last Week in Chapel

It was a fun week in chapel as Mrs. Duncan continued our series called "Deal With It!". In last week's lesson, through the story of Paul's experience as a prisoner, the students learned that God is always there for us when we feel secluded. Loneliness is a common feeling, even for followers of Jesus. It can be easy to let feelings of isolation get the best of us. However, when we recognize God's presence, use our bad for good, and reach out to those around us to share the great news of Jesus, we're given peace and strength instead of discouragement!

Main Focus: God is with us even when we feel alone!

Power Verse: “...For God has said, 'I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.'" -Hebrews 13:5

Whatchagaddaknow: “I Know I Am Never Alone!

The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

What a fantastic week we had celebrating Read Across America Week! It has been a joy to see our students immersed in the fun of reading, with special guest readers visiting classrooms and sharing their love of books.

We were also excited to kick off our Book Vending Machine last week! Throughout the week, we held special drawings, giving students the opportunity to win tokens to use at the book vending machine and select a book of their choice. Congratulations to our winning classes:

  • Third Grade: Ms. George’s class

  • Second Grade: Mrs. Rollins’ class

  • First Grade: Mrs. Rock’s class

To wrap up the week, Friday featured a special drawing where individual students won a chance to receive a token and pick a book from the vending machine. We hope all of our winners enjoyed their book selections!

Thank you to everyone who participated in making this week such a success. We look forward to more reading adventures ahead!

Last Week in Chapel

We had a great time in Chapel this week as we learned that we can turn to God when we go through tough times. When we face hard times, God can help turn our sadness into joy! We studied the story of The Prodigal Son found in Luke 15:11-32. This story is a great reminder that hard times won't last forever and God can turn our sadness into joy!

Main Focus: God can turn our sadness into joy!

Power Verse: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18

Last Week in Chapel

Last Week in Chapel

We had a fantastic time in Chapel this week as we continued our series, Deal With It, learning how to navigate our emotions God's way. Through the story of Gideon in Judges 6, we discovered how to overcome fear. No matter the challenges we face, we don’t have to be afraid—because God is always with us!

Main Focus: We can choose courage over fear!

Power Verse: “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

Whatchagaddaknow: I have NO fear ‘cause God is near!

TCS Dining Update for 1st-3rd Grades

We are  excited to share that soup is returning to our dining options! Recently, soup was temporarily removed as we explored the safest way to serve it. To enhance convenience and safety, SAGE has now introduced individual soup cups with lids, allowing students to carry their soup to their table with ease. As part of this update, there will be one soup option available for 1st–3rd grade students. This week’s selection will be chicken noodle soup, a favorite among our students. The updated menu reflecting this change will be available soon. Students are thrilled to have soup back, and we appreciate your support as we continue to improve our dining experience.

Last Week in Chapel

Last Week in Chapel

It was another great week in chapel as Mrs. Duncan kicked off our new series titled "Deal With It". This series is all about dealing with some of the toughest feelings and situations we may face in life. In our first lesson, students learned that worrying about life's difficulties just doesn't work. Because God so wonderfully cares for the birds and flowers of His creation, we know He cares even more deeply for us! He knows the number of hairs on our head, and His thoughts for us outnumber the grains of sand! We can trust Him with our worry. When we give our anxieties to God, He promises to cover us with His peace!

Main Focus:  "Anytime we feel anxious, we should pray!"

Power Verse: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God." -Philippians 4:6

Whatchagaddaknow: "I Won't Worry, I'll Put My Trust In God"

SAGE Dining Update for 1st-3rd Grades

We are  excited to share that soup is returning to our SAGE Dining options!

We had a great time in Chapel this week as Mrs. Moore taught our last lesson in our series titled, Stewardship. In last week’s lesson, we studied the story of Elijah and the widow found in 1 Kings 17:7-16. From this story, we learned about the importance of sacrifice, putting others' needs above our own, that we need to trust God to provide for us, and that He will bless those that sacrifice for the needs of others. We also discussed how Jesus demonstrated the ultimate example of sacrifice by giving His life to save us from our sins.

Main Focus: “We must be willing to give our all to God!”

Power Verse: “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” Philippians 2:5

Last Week in Chapel

Last week we had a special time in Chapel continuing our series called “Level Up” which focuses on stewardship. Pastor Kami taught about the importance of Obedience in regard to our giving. Through looking at the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4, our students learned that if we truly trust God to take care of us like Abel did, we will give God our first and our best. Cain gave God his leftovers, and sadly, His disobedience led to more bad choices and sin. God asks us to give the tithe - the first 10% of all we have. He asks this, not because He needs our money, but because He knows that by us obeying, we are proclaiming our trust in His ability to take care of us.

Bible verse - “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33

Last Week in Chapel

We had a wonderful time in Chapel as we continued our series, Songs of Christmas. This week, we focused on the song Joy to the World. We reflected on how God brought joy to the world through the gift of His Son and explored the difference between happiness and joy. Despite life's challenges, we can experience true joy in the presence of Jesus. We concluded Chapel with a worship song, singing Goodness of God, where your children beautifully lifted their voices in praise.

Main Focus: Jesus brings joy - no matter the circumstances!

Power Verse: “ ....in your presence there is fullness of joy…” Psalm 16:11

Whatchagaddaknow: I will have joy - no matter what!

Last Week in Chapel

Last week we had a blast as we continued our series called “Songs of Christmas.” Pastor Kami taught about the song “Silent Night” and emphasized that the line “sleep in heavenly peace” is for all of us. We can sleep in peace no matter what is happening in our lives and in our families because Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He sees us and knows what we need. He is Emmanuel - God with us!

Whatchagaddaknow: “I can sleep in heavenly peace!”

Bible Verse: “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” Luke 2:14

SAGE Update for 1st-3rd Grades

We wanted to inform you about a temporary adjustment to our lunch service for students in 1st through 3rd grade. Starting this week, the soup station will be unavailable for a few weeks while SAGE explores alternative options for this offering.

This decision was made because we’ve observed that the soup station can be challenging for our younger students to navigate, especially when pouring. To ensure lunchtime remains a safe and enjoyable experience, we are working with SAGE to assess and improve this setup.

Rest assured, there will still be plenty of delicious and nutritious options available for your child during this time.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to enhance the dining experience for our students.

Last Week in Chapel

It was another great week in chapel as Mrs. Duncan kicked off our Christmas series called "Songs of Christmas". Although there are hundreds of songs written specifically for the Christmas season, those that share the love and joy of Jesus are the truly special ones! Last week's song focus was "Go Tell It On The Mountain". What a great week to collect and pray over our Operation Christmas Child boxes! Students realized that blessing others through sharing Christmas boxes with those in need is the perfect way to tell others that Jesus Christ is our Savior!

Main Focus:  "We must tell others about our Savior!"

Power Verse: "...'Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.'" -Mark 16:15

Last Week in Chapel

Last week we continued our “Famous Last Words” series as Pastor Kami taught our kids what Jesus said is the only way to heaven. There are many religions that teach that there are many ways to get to heaven. Even in the Christian church world, some children may be confused as to exactly what THE WAY to get into heaven is. Our kids learned that Jesus is THE way, THE truth, and THE life. The only way to assure your place in heaven is by putting your trust in Him - PERIOD! Kevin and Riley led us in worship and Chuck Foo helped teach our Power Verse. We left chapel excited about sharing with others how to get to heaven.

Main Focus: “Accepting Jesus is the only way to heaven.”

Power Verse: “…’I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me’” John 14:6

Whatchagaddaknow: “Jesus is the Only Way to Heaven!
