A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON

I hope each of you is enjoying the summer break and making lasting memories together with your families! We are about halfway through our summer, and we are working hard as we make plans for an exciting 2024-2025 school year. Please be sure to reference the upcoming issues of the Inside the Pride newsletter as you will find more and more information being added each week to help you navigate the start of the new year.

Student schedules are under development currently and will be released later this month. Please be praying for our team as we work to build the best schedule possible for your child for this new school year. If you did not submit your child’s class requests by our deadline or were accepted this summer and did not have the opportunity, please reach out to Kristan Peavy (kristan.peavy@tcslions.org) who oversees our scheduling process.

UPDATE: PE UNIFORMS

We are strongly encouraging our middle school parents to purchase PE uniform items from our school store for this upcoming school year. The items available provide a name plate on the shirts and shorts for student names to be written, which will help eliminate lost items in the locker room. While PE uniforms will not be required, we will be enforcing a more clear dress code for PE this year. Please use this link to familiarize yourself with this year’s dress guidelines. Note: Pajama pants are not acceptable PE attire.

REMINDER: SUMMER READING OPPORTUNITY

There is NO REQUIRED SUMMER READING, but our team has put together a list of suggested books and resources if your child would like to continue reading over the summer. Students who read 3 books from the suggested list will receive an incentive the first week we are back in August. Check out our suggested list here.

REMINDER: SUMMER MATH HELP

Use this document to review information from Ms. Paige Whitaker, our Math Curriculum Coordinator, regarding grade level skills your child may need to work on over the summer to ensure a smooth transition for next year. These suggestions are great for parents looking to reinforce concepts over the summer or for those just looking to keep their child sharp over the break.

REMINDER: COMMUNITY SERVICE FORM - 10 REQUIRED HOURS FOR 2024-2025

Don’t forget, your child can earn community service hours this summer that count towards next year’s requirements. As a reminder, middle school students need 10 hours of service prior to May 5, 2025 to receive full credit. You can access the form for recording hours as well as learn more specific information about the requirements here.

IN PROGRESS: SUPPLY LISTS FOR 2024-2025

We will be finalizing our supply lists in the next couple of weeks as we add any additional items needed by recently hired teachers. In the meantime, feel free to start purchasing the items already added to the list.
