A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON
We are so blessed and thankful for the re-enrollment numbers we are seeing for next year! At almost 96% retention and with several more families still planning to re-enroll, the LORD has been so gracious to us through this pandemic. I couldn’t help but think about the provision we see from God towards His people in Deuteronomy 29:5 where we are told that the Israelites wandered for 40 years in the wilderness but never had to replace their clothing or their shoes. Think about that! That completely defies logic for clothing and shoes to last that long. It also is hard to believe that in the middle of a pandemic Trinity continues to grow. Praise the LORD for His goodness, protection and provision. All glory goes to Him!
LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL
Coach Roby Ross continued our series on “Wisdom from Proverbs” by speaking to the students from Proverbs 3:1-18 emphasizing the importance of perspective when it comes to godly wisdom vs. leaning on our own understanding.
MARCH MEMORY VERSE: MATTHEW 28:18-20 (ESV)
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
LIONS OF THE WEEK
Congratulations to the following students that were nominated by their teachers for making good choices or setting a good example recently.
6th Grade = Avery Ross
7th Grade = Emma Kate Yeager
8th Grade = Evan Daniels
HABITUDES MOMENT
Ask your child about the new leadership images being introduced in Habitudes this month.
6th Grade:
Pop Quiz - Tests are proving grounds for growth.
Lesson Summary - Leaders experience tests as they mature. These tests range from motive checks, to authority tests, to integrity checks. They reveal the leader’s potential and maturity and are a pathway to progress.
7th & 8th Grades:
Hot Air Balloons - Encouragement brings out other's potential.
Lesson Summary - Hot air balloons rise as the burner is released… but eventually, they begin to fall and need to be refilled. They must continue to be filled in order to go up. People are like this. They must be consistently encouraged in order to reach their highest potential.
FEBRUARY FRENZY DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT
Congratulations to the following teams who won their first round matches in our tournament last week!
Muskrats defeated Cookies-n-Cream
Team Rock defeated The Jellos
Tigger Tigers defeated The Peach
We will continue first round matches this upcoming week!
UPCOMING SPECIAL DAYS/EVENTS
Friday, March 12 - “Mask-a-versary” Day - to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of us going virtual during the 2020 school year, students are invited to wear appropriate pajamas for the day.
Wednesday, March 17 - St. Patrick’s Day or “Green and Jeans” - students may wear jeans with green shirts.
COMMUNITY SERVICE UPDATE
With the challenges presented by COVID this year regarding allowed ways to serve, we are making our 10 hours of community service an “encouraged” assignment vs. a “required” assignment this year. Students who complete their 10 hours of community service will receive a 100 test grade in Bible. Students who are unable to complete the 10 hours of community service will not incur a penalty.
FOOD DRIVE OPPORTUNITY
March 1 - April 1
Our Annual Food Drive will take place from March 1st - April 1st. We are encouraging all students from preschool-8th grade to participate. This is a great opportunity to bless our community, while encouraging generosity in our students. Items donated will be given to Trinity Church’s food pantry and then dispersed to those in need. Items may be sent in with your student and given to their classroom/homeroom teacher. We appreciate your willingness to give!
Items needed:
Soup (bean, chicken noodle, vegetable, beef stew), applesauce, peaches, mayonnaise, pancake syrup, cereal, oatmeal, cocoa, coffee, evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla, canned meats (salmon, corned beef, tuna, chicken, etc.), canola oil, vegetable shortening, salad dressing, canned potatoes, instant potatoes, canned fruit, dried beans, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, pasta, stew, rice, juices, ramen noodles, pudding, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers (all sizes), dish soap, sanitary napkins, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste.
