A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON
Spring Break is almost here! We are looking forward to a short week as we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ this weekend. I hope each of you has a wonderful Easter service with your local church and enjoys a wonderful break with friends and family.
LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL
Our very own Mr. Frankie, who is so beloved by our student body, spoke to our students on the privilege and responsibility each of us has to live as a light for Jesus!
MARCH MEMORY VERSE: MATTHEW 28:18-20 (ESV)
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
LIONS OF THE WEEK
Congratulations to the following students that were nominated by their teachers for making good choices or setting a good example recently.
6th Grade = Presley Boone
7th Grade = Shelby Dunckel
8th Grade = Lilla Wise
HABITUDES MOMENT
Ask your child about the new leadership images being introduced in Habitudes this month.
6th Grade:
Opportunity Statue - We can spend, invest, or waste each day we have.
Lesson Summary - Leaders manage opportunities. Everyone has 86,400 seconds each day to use or abuse. Opportunity is a statue that has hair in front but is bald in the back—you can’t grab it once it is gone.
7th & 8th Grade:
Pocket Change - Earn credibility through integrity and wisdom.
Lesson Summary - Leaders earn credibility with others by displaying integrity and making wise decisions. This puts emotional change in their pocket and enhances their influence. If leaders fail to do this, they will lose the change in their pocket with people. Leaders are constantly filling or emptying their pockets.

MISSING BAGS AND PERSONAL ITEMS
Recently, we have had an increasing amount of students who have lost personal items. This is largely due to students not storing their items properly in their locker or in the locker room and instead misplacing their book bags and other personal items around campus. Please communicate with your child that it is imperative that they not leave personal items, including book bags, around campus during the school day. All personal items should be kept in their personal locker. Items may also be stored in the locker room during their PE period. Thank you for your help and support regarding this matter.
Note: Sports and athletic equipment may be stored on the staging area inside the gym during the school day for afternoon practices and games.
COMMUNITY SERVICE UPDATE
With the challenges presented by COVID this year regarding allowed ways to serve, we are making our 10 hours of community service an “encouraged” assignment vs. a “required” assignment this year. Students who complete their 10 hours of community service will receive a 100 test grade in Bible. Students who are unable to complete the 10 hours of community service will not incur a penalty.
FOOD DRIVE OPPORTUNITY
now thru April 1
Our Annual Food drive will take place from March 1st - April 1st. We are encouraging all students from preschool-8th grade to participate. This is a great opportunity to bless our community, while encouraging generosity in our students. Items donated will be given to Trinity Church’s food pantry and then dispersed to those in need. Items may be sent in with your student and given to their classroom/homeroom teacher. We appreciate your willingness to give!
Items needed:
Soup (bean, chicken noodle, vegetable, beef stew), applesauce, peaches, mayonnaise, pancake syrup, cereal, oatmeal, cocoa, coffee, evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla, canned meats (salmon, corned beef, tuna, chicken, etc.), canola oil, vegetable shortening, salad dressing, canned potatoes, instant potatoes, canned fruit, dried beans, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, pasta, stew, rice, juices, ramen noodles, pudding, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers (all sizes), dish soap, sanitary napkins, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste.
