BETA School of Distinction Award

By Samantha DePriest

Trinity Christian School High School Beta Club Faculty Advisor Mr. Duane Theobald proudly shared the exciting news that Trinity Christian School had been named a National Beta School of Distinction for the 2025–2026 school year, recognizing the dedication, leadership and service of its Beta Club members. Mr. Theobald shared, “It's been a pleasure to shepherd TCS Beta Club the past few years and get us back in good standing with the National Beta office. Also, thanks to the dedicated members and specifically our student officers do so much good work that makes TCS Beta what it is.”

Mr. Theobald went on to share, “National Beta Club centers around four principles: academic success, good character, leadership, and community service. Since its inception in 1934, Beta Club has led the charge in leadership development and purposeful service within high schools across the country. The TCS Chapter of Beta Club encompasses around 200 sophomores, juniors, and seniors who desire to do meaningful work within and outside of our school community; further, they seek to learn what it means to be a passionate, dedicated and, most importantly, a Christ-like leader.“

Feyi Ajayi, 2025-2026 Beta Club President, leading a meeting.

“The National Beta School of Distinction honor is assigned to Beta Club chapters that are both growing and thriving, and we've definitely seen a good amount of growth in recent years. As we look ahead to the new school year, the desire of my heart is to see TCS Beta Club continue to grow and serve with purpose & conviction. Our students do outstanding work in our campus community, most notably serving at events like Welcome to the Roar, Open Houses, hosting the annual Veterans Day dinner, and home football games. We also regularly partner with local businesses and organizations, allowing us to not just serve but be the hands and feet of Christ to those who may need it the most. It's a great honor to serve in my advisor capacity & witness the transformational work that our high-school student leaders are doing. They inspire so many people around them, myself included.”

National Beta School of Distinction Award is an honor for Beta clubs striving towards academic achievement, exemplary character, demonstrated leadership and service to others. With an ongoing quest to instill these qualities in more students, the National Beta School of Distinction Award is designed to award those schools that show an increase in membership for the current school year.

Beta clubs that increase membership 10% by the deadline will be awarded the National Beta School of Distinction. Growth is evaluated based on student membership from the close of the previous school year to student membership as of the deadline.

TCS Beta Club received a congratulatory letter celebrating the accomplishments of TCS Beta members, a digital badge, press release, and a National Beta School of Distinction banner. Congratulations Lions!

Veterans Celebration Dinner

By Samantha DePriest

A special evening to honor our active and retired military at the Veterans Celebration Dinner hosted by TCS BETA Club was held on Monday, November 13th in the Gathering Place at Trinity Christian School. Student members from the high school BETA Club served all those in attendance with honor, respect, gratitude, and admiration.

BETA students served a delicious meal prepared by SAGE dining on beautifully decorated tables adorned with handmade cards, performed beautiful music both in song and dance, read original poetry written by fellow classmates, and presented each honored guest with a certificate of appreciation and recognition for their service and sacrifice. It was truly a beautiful time of fellowship and remembrance of the sacrifices made for all of our freedoms.

A very special thank you to BETA Club Staff Liaison Mrs. Val Adams and high school principal Mrs. Kimmy Jones for their commitment and support in raising up this next generation of servant leaders who recognize and honor the importance of those brave soldiers who have gone before us to fight for our freedoms. The Bible tells us in John 15:12-13 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” We are forever thankful for all of the veterans who have selflessly laid down their lives for others and sacrificed their time away from family to give us time with ours.
