A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOr

We are now finishing our fourth week of school, and are already noticing improvement in  each of our Arts areas!  The students came in ready and hungry to learn, and are truly soaking it all up!  From amazing auditions in all of our Theatre groups, to first notes in the Band and Orchestra rooms, to new students coming in and bringing solid gifts, we at Trinity are truly blessed!

As we progress through the school year, the students’ efforts at home are just as important as on campus.  We know that practice at home and individual time invested in their part to play makes a huge difference.  Students come in more confident when they have worked at home, and make much larger strides in their personal development.  And the group as a whole benefits as well, with each person contributing fully to the group effort.  

Parents, please continue to encourage your student to put in the effort.  This encouragement from home is vital as we partner together.  Keep working on memorization of lines and lyrics, practicing those scales over and over, working on vocal technique, studying theory, and so much more.  

Lastly, THANK YOU for your support and encouragement.  We sense this in great measure from you, our parents!  Our families are outstanding, and we are seeing God do great things in the Arts as we continue to partner together!

BAND NIGHT 2023

It’s back - our annual Band Night with the Marching Lions!  This is where we invite alumni, parents and friends to join us as we perform in the stands for the Homecoming Varsity Football game.  This year’s game will take place on Friday, September 22nd vs. North Clayton.  We would love for you to join us as we perform and cheer our team on to victory!  Here are the details:

  • Confirm Please - simply respond to this email so we can have music ready for you

  • Music - we provide you with flip folders, so no memorization is necessary

  • Rehearsal - we have one rehearsal the week of Homecoming.  This year, the rehearsal is on Tuesday, September 19th from 6:45 - 7:45pm in the Band Room

  • Game - the game is on Friday, September 22nd.  Call time is 6:30pm in the HS Auditorium / Multi Purpose Room

  • Attire - simply come in Trinity colors / spirit wear

We can’t wait to see you all again for Band Night!  It’s always a highlight of the year for us.  Feel free to invite others as well.  See you there!!

NEW PRACTICE LOT - MARCHING LIONS

We have exciting news!  Our Marching Lions now have a practice area in the West Student Parking Lot!  We have lined this lot, similar to what many other schools with marching bands do, and our band can now practice their field formations here after school.  This will help this growing program continue to learn and enhance field shows and work on their marching basics.

What does this mean for you?  If you are a student who drives to school, we would ask that during marching season you do not park in the first section of this student lot beyond 4pm.  Normal school day and afternoon carline will not be affected at all, but at 4pm several days each week during marching season the band will utilize this area.  

There are three sections of the student lot, and only one of these sections is lined.  This is the only section we will need available for these 4pm rehearsals - you will notice the purple lines on the pavement of this section.  Thank you so much for your consideration here, and helping our Marching Lions be the very best they can be!

FINE ARTS FESTIVAL 2024 LAUNCH MEETING

Each year we have an annual event we participate in called the Fine Arts Festival, and we would LOVE for you to join us this year!  This is a growing program for our Performing Arts families, and so much fun!  And the ministry and experience of each student is invaluable!  For more information about this festival, please visit https://youth.ag.org/Participate/Fine-Arts.   

Are you ready to participate in Fine Arts Festival 2024? Our Fine Arts Festival Launch will be Monday night, October 2 at 6pm in The Gathering Place. We will be laying out our plans and basic schedules for the 2024 FAF Season! We are also introducing some new groups and leaders at this launch meeting. This meeting is for all students, grades 6-12, who are interested in participating in the upcoming Fine Arts season AND their parents. Please add the 2024 Launch to your calendar. As we continue to grow as performers and technicians, we want to look for ways to continue to learn, try new things, and master techniques. This year, we are offering “morning workouts” where High School students can attend before school to stretch their Theatre muscles.

We will be releasing a calendar monthly, but days will vary based on skills, upcoming events, and more. At times, we will have guest teachers, and students will be able to take advantage of experts in this field!

Workouts are week days from 7:30-8am in Room 502.

To enhance the Performing Arts experience at Trinity Christian School, we offer the opportunity for private instruction, with a growing number of vocal and instrumental options. We have several new offerings this year, including clarinet, voice, and even harp. Our programs offer instruction at various levels to include those who are newly discovering their musical talents, as well as those who have been refining their art for years.  Interested in private instruction?  This is the place for you!

INSTRUMENT REPAIR

We use Big Note Music for on site repair of many of our musical instruments.  If you have an instrument that needs repair as the school year begins, this may be a great option for you.  The process works with you filling out an online form, pre-paying for the repair, and then they come for a scheduled repair session right on our Trinity campus.  Your student wouldn’t be away from their instrument except when it’s on the repair table.  This convenient option has worked for us for a few years now.  Simply fill out the online form and let us know that a repair has been scheduled.

NEW PRACTICE LOT - MARCHING LIONS

After an incredible Spring Semester and amazing Summer Dance Camps we invite your students to join us this Fall for another chance to dance! 

Dance Club is open to Pre-K4 through High School students. We will focus on fundamentals of dance with a focus in multiple styles of dance training. All Preschool through Fifth Grade students will learn Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop. Middle and High School will focus on Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. All students are expected to participate in our end of semester Dance Recital on December 12th - Additional Details COMING SOON!

Each grade level will have class once per week throughout the semester. 

Our Fall Dance Club Schedule is as follows:

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOr

We have just completed another week of classes, and couldn’t be more excited.  The caliber of student in the Arts classroom is outstanding, we can certainly see great things to come!  As things continue to unfold, you may have questions.  Please feel free to reach out to any of our Arts staff and let us know how we can help.  Simply email your Director or send to performingarts@tcslions.org and we’ll make sure to get you the information you need.

We have put together a statement that describes what we hope to accomplish in the Arts department at TCS.  We desire to bear the image of the Creator as we cultivate creativity.  This simple phrase encompasses the heart behind what we do as your Arts staff.  We wish to do everything in the image of Christ first and foremost.  And to teach your students to do the same.  And we recognize that God is our Master Creator.  We want to honor Him for the gift He has given each of us, and train to become better and better in that gift each and every day.  We want to cultivate the creativity inside of each student, and see them blossom and realize their full potential in Christ.

Here’s to a great school year ahead.  We will give you our best.  And will pull the best out of your student as well.  Let’s have a fantastic school year together and create for God’s glory!

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOr

We have just completed another week of classes, and couldn’t be more excited.  The caliber of student in the Arts classroom is outstanding, we can certainly see great things to come!  As things continue to unfold, you may have questions.  Please feel free to reach out to any of our Arts staff and let us know how we can help.  Simply email your Director or send to performingarts@tcslions.org and we’ll make sure to get you the information you need.

We have put together a statement that describes what we hope to accomplish in the Arts department at TCS.  We desire to bear the image of the Creator as we cultivate creativity.  This simple phrase encompasses the heart behind what we do as your Arts staff.  We wish to do everything in the image of Christ first and foremost.  And to teach your students to do the same.  And we recognize that God is our Master Creator.  We want to honor Him for the gift He has given each of us, and train to become better and better in that gift each and every day.  We want to cultivate the creativity inside of each student, and see them blossom and realize their full potential in Christ.

Here’s to a great school year ahead.  We will give you our best.  And will pull the best out of your student as well.  Let’s have a fantastic school year together and create for God’s glory!

ELEMENTARY DRAMA CLUB

Drama Club starts this week!!

Mondays: 3-5pm (1st and 2nd Grade)

Thursdays: 3-5pm (3rd-5th Grade)

MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL THEATER

Congrats to ALL of you who auditioned this week! We are blown away by the talent in our school and we cannot wait to get started with our shows. You will receive an email from Mrs. Litton and Mrs. Perez about what it looks like for callbacks this week!

HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE - EARLY MORNING WORKOUTS

As we continue to grow as performers and technicians, we want to look for ways to continue to learn, try new things, and master techniques. This year, we are offering “morning workouts” where High School students can attend before school to stretch their theatre muscles.

We will be releasing a calendar monthly, but days will vary based on skills, upcoming events, and more. At times, we will have guest teachers, and students will be able to take advantage of experts in this field!

Workouts are week days from 7:30-8am in Room 502.

DANCE CLUB - FALL 2023

Dance Club is back for our Fall Semester! 

After an incredible Spring Semester and amazing Summer Dance Camps we invite your students to join us this Fall for another chance to dance! 

Dance Club is open to Pre-K4 through High School students. We will focus on fundamentals of dance with a focus in multiple styles of dance training. All Preschool through Fifth Grade students will learn Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop. Middle and High School will focus on Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. All students are expected to participate in our end of semester Dance Recital on December 12th - Additional Details COMING SOON!

Dance Classes begin the week of August 21st! Each grade level will have class once per week throughout the semester. 

Our Fall Dance Club Schedule is as follows:

  • Monday / High School / 3:45-5pm

  • Tuesday / 1st-3rd Grade / 3:45-4:45pm

  • Wednesday / Pre-K & Kindergarten / 7:30-8:30am / GO Church Campus

  • Thursday / Middle School / 3:45-5pm

  • Friday / 4th-5th Grade / 3:45-4:45pm

**Scheduling Subject to Change based on enrollment**

Students are required to provide their own shoes. Be sure to sign up early, space is limited and will fill quickly!

To enhance the Performing Arts experience at Trinity Christian School, we offer the opportunity for private instruction, with a growing number of vocal and instrumental options. We have several new offerings this year, including clarinet, voice, and even harp. Our programs offer instruction at various levels to include those who are newly discovering their musical talents, as well as those who have been refining their art for years.  Interested in private instruction?  This is the place for you!

GO WEEK - AUSTRIA

There will be a GO Week parent interest meeting on Monday night, August 21st.  Following this meeting trips will be released and it’s time to sign up!  The goal is all students are signed up by September 6th.  Trips are on a first come, first serve basis once registration opens, so be on the lookout for that.  And we hope to see you on Monday night to get your questions answered.

INSTRUMENT REPAIR

We use Big Note Music for on site repair of many of our musical instruments.  If you have an instrument that needs repair as the school year begins, this may be a great option for you.  The process works with you filling out an online form, pre-paying for the repair, and then they come for a scheduled repair session right on our Trinity campus.  Your student wouldn’t be away from their instrument except when it’s on the repair table.  This convenient option has worked for us for a few years now.  Simply fill out the online form and let us know that a repair has been scheduled.

With so much happening in this growing department, our team wanted to have a time for ALL theatre families to come together and learn how to get involved in theatre at TCS throughout your student’s time here.

We will start with news that pertains to every age group, and then break into specific age groups!

Cost $200

There are only a couple spots left for our Drama Club productions this year. If you are interested in your student getting involved, please contact Lizzie Perez at lizzie.perez@tcslions.org to see if there are any remaining spots available.

Performances will be Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th with our students presenting two acts: Act One: 1st-2nd Grades and Act Two: 3rd-5th Grades, giving both age groups THREE CHANCES to perform their productions.

This sweet tale is all about the race to find the precious treasure, only to realize the best and most lasting treasure is friendship.

MONDAY, Aug 14th - Theatre Interest Meeting for 1st-12th Theatre - 5pm

STUDENT CENTER - Building 1

Join us for a time of fellowship for all theatre families 1st-12th grade.

We will talk through each age group and ways that we can all support and grow together! As we walk from Elementary up to Middle and High School, grades will be dismissed when information is no longer relevant. 

TUESDAY, Aug 15th - MIDDLE SCHOOL AUDITION WORKSHOP - 6-7pm

STUDENT CENTER - Building 1

Middle School students will have a chance to work with Mrs. Litton and team on audition content BEFORE auditions start. Get feedback on your audition AND practice reading from the script, singing, and learning choreography. Attendance is optional, but extremely encouraged for students to feel more comfortable! Sign ups available soon!


WEDNESDAY, Aug 16th - Middle and High School Auditions - 3:30-5:30pm

Students will sign up for a 1.5 hour slot where they will:

-read from a script with other students

-learn a short dance combo

-sing a one minute musical theatre song that represents them (prepared in advance)

GO WEEK - AUSTRIA

We are planning a GO Week trip to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria for GO Week 2024.  This will be Performing Arts and Missions focused, which is why it is listed here in the Performing Arts section.  We are beginning to promote the general details of this trip, as we know many of you will be quite interested.  We will tour Vienna and the life of Mozart, Salzburg where Mozart was born and The Sound of Music was filmed, and also partner with local churches for some missions work.

All Go Week trips will be advertised to students on August 23rd or 24th, and the goal is all students are signed up by September 6th.  Trips are on a first come, first serve basis once registration opens, so be on the lookout for that.

Welcome back TCS Arts families!  We have so many exciting places for your student to plug in, and can’t wait to get started!!  Our Performing Arts community continues to grow and evolve, and we love to continue to build on this from year to year!!!

New to 2023-24 are a few staff members.  We would like to introduce Katie Palmer, who will be helping in our Middle School Band rehearsals and also with the Marching Lions.  We would also like to introduce Jason and Stacie Moore. Jason is the new Executive Pastor for Trinity Church, and he and Stacie will be helping us with High School Chapel worship and student vocals in a variety of ways.   And Stacie will be helping with the administration of the Performing Arts program as a whole.  Welcome Katie, Jason and Stacie!!

We offer electives in the Performing Arts in a variety of areas, starting in the 4th grade. Often families will ask when these electives are offered, and how their student can get involved. They will meet Mondays from 3-5pm and work on building a strong foundation in acting, singing, and dancing. They will work towards learning a variety of songs based on a theme and explore the stage in big and small group numbers (with some solo moments)!

3rd-5th Grade (cap of 35 students)

•Directed by Mrs. Amber Poelman, Assisted by Mrs. Lizzie Perez and supported with Drama Club Team•

They will meet Thursdays from 3-5pm and develop their skills in acting, singing, and dancing as they learn a 30 minute show. As we continue to grow as performers and technicians, we want to look for ways to continue to learn, try new things, and master techniques. This year, we are offering “morning workouts” where High School students can attend before school to stretch their theatre muscles.

We will be releasing a calendar monthly, but days will vary based on skills, upcoming events, and more. At times, we will have guest teachers, and students will be able to take advantage of experts in this field!

Workouts are week days from 7:30-8am in Room 502.

GO WEEK - AUSTRIA

We are planning a GO Week trip to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria for GO Week 2024.  This will be Performing Arts and Missions focused, which is why it is listed here in the Performing Arts section.  We are beginning to promote the general details of this trip, as we know many of you will be quite interested.  We will tour Vienna and the life of Mozart, Salzburg where Mozart was born and The Sound of Music was filmed, and also partner with local churches for some missions work.

At this time all we need is your name to go on our list of those interested.  We do not have the specifics yet, including cost, but as an international trip it will be one of the more expensive GO Week trips.  Full details will go out some time in August with the rest of the GO Week trips, we are simply creating an interest list at this time.

INSTRUMENT REPAIR

We use Big Note Music for on site repair of many of our musical instruments.  If you have an instrument that needs repair as the school year begins, this may be a great option for you.  The process works with you filling out an online form, pre-paying for the repair, and then they come for a scheduled repair session right on our Trinity campus.  Your student wouldn’t be away from their instrument except when it’s on the repair table.  This convenient option has worked for us for a few years now.  Simply fill out the online form and let us know that a repair has been scheduled.

MEET THE STAFF

We want to get to know each of our Arts families throughout the year.  And we would love for you to get to know us as well.  Here is a snapshot of your directors for the 2023-24 school year.

Tim Hurt grew up in Long Island, NY, getting his hands on anything and everything in the Arts he could.  He enjoyed Band, Orchestra, Theatre and Chorus, and decided to pursue a career in music.  He attended the University of Miami, Coral Gables, and has a degree in Music Education with Jazz Emphasis.  Upon graduation, Tim served in full time ministry as a Worship Pastor for 20 years, before joining the Trinity staff to lead the Arts Department and serve in the Band Room.  He is also the Worship Pastor for Trinity Church, combining both church and school as he ministers in the Arts world.  Tim has been the Performing Arts Director at TCS since 2015.  

Tim is passionate about challenging and inspiring students in the Arts and in their faith.  He has been married to Charlotte for 24 years,, and they have three children, Sarah, Samuel and Sophia.  In his free time, he enjoys golf and working in the yard.

Chris Litton serves as the Director of Live Media & School Productions at Trinity Christian School. He teaches Live Media Production, a class that provides instruction and practical application for students to learn the basics of audio production for live music, and also a new elective offering, Film/Broadcast Production. Chris also serves as the Technical Director for the TCS Drama department. He has been at Trinity since the spring of 2021, and has a degree in Broadcasting with a focus on Radio. Chris has been working professionally in the broadcast/audio engineering field since 2013. His credentials include sports broadcasting for the Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network, freelance voice over work, A1 Audio Engineering for live events around Atlanta, and recently was a top 3 candidate of 500 applicants to become the Atlanta Braves Public Address Announcer. Chris loves bringing his experiences to the classroom to pour into the next generation. Chris has been married to his wonderful wife Emily for 11 Years. Emily is also part of the Performing Arts team at TCS. They have a daughter named Ellie who is in Pre-K at TCS.

Emily Litton has dedicated her career to inspiring young minds through Performing Arts. Currently serving as the Early Learning Creative Arts and Middle School Theatre Director at Trinity, Litton has a passion for fostering creativity and self-expression in her students, and instilling a love for the Arts in each of them, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed both on and off the stage.

Litton's love for theatre can be traced back to her childhood, where she was involved in numerous productions and performances. Her extensive experience has given her a unique perspective on the art form, which she brings to her work as a theatre educator.  In 2009, Litton was part of the first graduating class of Trinity Christian School, and she is proud to be a part of the school's legacy.

Sharissa Manwaring has been enjoying music since she started playing the piano at age 3 and violin at age 5.  In college she minored in music and decided to focus on violin as her principal instrument.   She has been involved with music through teaching, performing, and worshiping with her violin most of her adult life.  

Her musical journey with Trinity started with her volunteering in the String Orchestra classes for several years.  In 2020 she started co-teaching the High School Chamber Group, our combined band and orchestra class.  March 2022 she moved into the Orchestra Director role, teaching 4th, 5th and Middle School Strings as well as the High School class.  She loves her job and often says she has the best job in the world because she gets to “make music with amazing kids!”  Her goals are to help students realize music is worth working for, and for them to have fun along the way!

Sharissa is married to Philip, and they have high school age twins, both who enjoy the Arts.  She is also an artist, painting with oils, acrylics, and watercolor, and enjoys traveling overseas, reading, arranging flowers, baking yummy gluten free desserts, and loving on her sweet Russian Blue cat, Lexie.

Bill Melton holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Education degrees from Columbus State University and an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia. He has served as a band director and music educator for the last 38 years, serving 27 of these years as the director of bands at Whitewater Middle School in Fayetteville, Georgia. Bill retired from public school teaching in 2017 and started teaching at Trinity Christian School in September 2020.  He is currently the 5th Grade Band Director. 

Bill’s bands have been selected to perform throughout the southeastern United States and performed for notable individuals such as Chick-Fil-A founder Truett Cathy, and former congressman Newt Gingrich.  He is currently an active private lesson instructor, composer, music evaluation judge and school instrumental band clinician. His students have participated in District Honor Band, Georgia All-State Band, Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony and the Governor’s Honors program.
Bill has been married to Tammy for 37 years. Bill and Tammy have two adult children, Amy, a Doctoral student at the University of Texas, Austin and Amber, an Occupational Therapist in Atlanta, Georgia.

Stacie Moore has been working in church worship & arts ministry for 28 years, alongside her husband Jason. She has served specifically in the area of Middle and High School Fine Arts. She is passionate about investing in students so they may discover, develop and deploy their gifts for Jesus. 

Stacie comes to us at Trinity serving our High School Chapel Worship students, and also assisting with Arts Administration for the department.  Stacie has 4 children, Caleb (20), Chaim (18), Caden (18) and Keira (15). When not serving in ministry, she is on the hunt for the best tacos and salsa.

Katie Palmer is an accomplished trumpet player and has had the opportunity to play with several notable organizations throughout her career. She studied Music Education at Kennesaw State University and performed in wind ensembles at Carnegie Hall and Midwest Band Clinic. She has played with several different brass ensembles for major events such as a Georgia Governor event, major holiday events for churches in the Atlanta area and more. She studied under several principal Atlanta symphony trumpet players throughout her years, and has taught trumpet lessons for over 6 years before taking a break and becoming a full time mom and missionary. 

Katie will be assisting our Middle School Band and also working with our Marching Lions.  Her passion for music and teaching has never left and she looks forward to coming alongside your students to help them love music, dedication and hard work just as much as she does.

Lizzie Perez is honored to serve the Roaring Dramatics and TCS family as our Theatre Director! She has lived and worked in Film/TV and Theatre in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and the Athens area. Throughout her career, she has had the incredible opportunity to create experiences and tell stories in many different mediums. Community Theatre credits include The Addams Family (Director), Mary Poppins (Director), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), Tuck Everlasting (Mae Tuck), The Little Mermaid (Ursula) and more. Professional credits include The Middle (NBC), Nunsense (Crown City Theater), and various background roles. 

Early in her career, she had the privilege of working with WinShape Camps for Communities developing, creating, and producing all elements of experience from large group production, graphic design, and curriculum. Her husband, AB, enjoys helping with her productions and they also lead worship together and are working towards an album. Lizzie is a graduate of Southeastern University (BA Theatre).

Cathy Settle has been teaching in Christian Education since 1995. After college, she began teaching at Grace Christian School in Columbus,Georgia. In 1997, she and her husband Jason decided it was best for her to stay home as they began to have a family. Over the next 15 years, as she and Jason raised their six children, she assisted in many areas of the music departments in the church and school ministries where they served. She served as the church pianist during that time as well as Director of Special Music and Children’s Programs. In 2012, she went back to teaching full time at Pleasant View Christian School in Pleasant View, TN, .where she remained until she came to Trinity in 2017.  She serves here as our Elementary Music Teacher and Upper Elementary and Middle School Chorus Director. Mrs. Settle’s desire is to instill in young hearts and minds a love for Jesus and music that will carry on throughout their lives.

Welcome back TCS Arts families!  We have so many exciting places for your student to plug in, and can’t wait to get started!!  Our Performing Arts community continues to grow and evolve, and we love to continue to build on this from year to year!!!

New to 2023-24 are a few staff members.  We would like to introduce Katie Palmer, who will be helping in our Middle School Band rehearsals and also with the Marching Lions.  We would also like to introduce Jason and Stacie Moore. Jason is the new Executive Pastor for Trinity Church, and he and Stacie will be helping us with High School Chapel worship and student vocals in a variety of ways.   And Stacie will be helping with the administration of the Performing Arts program as a whole.  Welcome Katie, Jason and Stacie!!

MEET THE STAFF

We want to get to know each of our Arts families throughout the year.  And we would love for you to get to know us as well.  Here is a snapshot of your directors for the 2023-24 school year.

Tim Hurt grew up in Long Island, NY, getting his hands on anything and everything in the Arts he could.  He enjoyed Band, Orchestra, Theatre and Chorus, and decided to pursue a career in music.  He attended the University of Miami, Coral Gables, and has a degree in Music Education with Jazz Emphasis.  Upon graduation, Tim served in full time ministry as a Worship Pastor for 20 years, before joining the Trinity staff to lead the Arts Department and serve in the Band Room.  He is also the Worship Pastor for Trinity Church, combining both church and school as he ministers in the Arts world.  Tim has been the Performing Arts Director at TCS since 2015.  

Tim is passionate about challenging and inspiring students in the Arts and in their faith.  He has been married to Charlotte for 24 years,, and they have three children, Sarah, Samuel and Sophia.  In his free time, he enjoys golf and working in the yard.

Chris Litton serves as the Director of Live Media & School Productions at Trinity Christian School. He teaches Live Media Production, a class that provides instruction and practical application for students to learn the basics of audio production for live music, and also a new elective offering, Film/Broadcast Production.. Chris also serves as the Technical Director for the TCS Drama department. He has been at Trinity since the spring of 2021, and has a degree in Broadcasting with a focus on Radio. Chris has been working professionally in the broadcast/audio engineering field since 2013. His credentials include sports broadcasting for the Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network, freelance voice over work, A1 Audio Engineering for live events around Atlanta, and recently was a top 3 candidate of 500 applicants to become the Atlanta Braves Public Address Announcer. Chris loves bringing his experiences to the classroom to pour into the next generation.

Emily Litton has dedicated her career to inspiring young minds through Performing Arts. Currently serving as the Early Learning Creative Arts and Middle School Theatre Director at Trinity, Litton has a passion for fostering creativity and self-expression in her students, and instilling a love for the Arts in each of them, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed both on and off the stage.

Litton's love for theatre can be traced back to her childhood, where she was involved in numerous productions and performances. Her extensive experience has given her a unique perspective on the art form, which she brings to her work as a theatre educator.  In 2009, Litton was part of the first graduating class of Trinity Christian School, and she is proud to be a part of the school's legacy.

Sharissa Manwaring has been enjoying music since she started playing the piano at age 3 and violin at age 5.  In college she minored in music and decided to focus on violin as her principal instrument.   She has been involved with music through teaching, performing, and worshiping with her violin most of her adult life.  

Her musical journey with Trinity started with her volunteering in the String Orchestra classes for several years.  In 2020 she started co-teaching the High School Chamber Group, our combined band and orchestra class.  March 2022 she moved into the Orchestra Director role, teaching 4th, 5th and Middle School Strings as well as the High School class.  She loves her job and often says she has the best job in the world because she gets to “make music with amazing kids!”  Her goals are to help students realize music is worth working for, and for them to have fun along the way!

Sharissa is married to Philip, and they have high school age twins, both who enjoy the Arts.  She is also an artist, painting with oils, acrylics, and watercolor, and enjoys traveling overseas, reading, arranging flowers, baking yummy gluten free desserts, and loving on her sweet Russian Blue cat, Lexie.

Bill Melton holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Education degrees from Columbus State University and an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia. He has served as a band director and music educator for the last 38 years, serving 27 of these years as the director of bands at Whitewater Middle School in Fayetteville, Georgia. Bill retired from public school teaching in 2017 and started teaching at Trinity Christian School in September 2020.  He is currently the 5th Grade Band Director. 

Bill’s bands have been selected to perform throughout the southeastern United States and performed for notable individuals such as Chick-Fil-A founder Truett Cathy, and former congressman Newt Gingrich.  He is currently an active private lesson instructor, composer, music evaluation judge and school instrumental band clinician. His students have participated in District Honor Band, Georgia All-State Band, Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony and the Governor’s Honors program.
Bill has been married to Tammy for 37 years. Bill and Tammy have two adult children, Amy, a Doctoral student at the University of Texas, Austin and Amber, an Occupational Therapist in Atlanta, Georgia.

Stacie Moore has been working in church worship & arts ministry for 28 years, alongside her husband Jason. She has served specifically in the area of Middle and High School Fine Arts. She is passionate about investing in students so they may discover, develop and deploy their gifts for Jesus. 

Stacie comes to us at Trinity serving our High School Chapel Worship students, and also assisting with Arts Administration for the department.  Stacie has 4 children, Caleb (20), Chaim (18), Caden (18) and Keira (15). When not serving in ministry, she is on the hunt for the best tacos and salsa.

Katie Palmer is an accomplished trumpet player and has had the opportunity to play with several notable organizations throughout her career. She studied Music Education at Kennesaw State University and performed in wind ensembles at Carnegie Hall and Midwest Band Clinic. She has played with several different brass ensembles for major events such as a Georgia Governor event, major holiday events for churches in the Atlanta area and more. She studied under several principal Atlanta symphony trumpet players throughout her years, and has taught trumpet lessons for over 6 years before taking a break and becoming a full time mom and missionary. 

Katie will be assisting our Middle School Band and also working with our Marching Lions.  Her passion for music and teaching has never left and she looks forward to coming alongside your students to help them love music, dedication and hard work just as much as she does.

Lizzie Perez is honored to serve the Roaring Dramatics and TCS family as our Theatre Director! She has lived and worked in Film/TV and Theatre in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and the Athens area. Throughout her career, she has had the incredible opportunity to create experiences and tell stories in many different mediums. Community Theatre credits include The Addams Family (Director), Mary Poppins (Director), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), Tuck Everlasting (Mae Tuck), The Little Mermaid (Ursula) and more. Professional credits include The Middle (NBC), Nunsense (Crown City Theater), and various background roles. 

Early in her career, she had the privilege of working with WinShape Camps for Communities developing, creating, and producing all elements of experience from large group production, graphic design, and curriculum. Her husband, AB, enjoys helping with her productions and they also lead worship together and are working towards an album. Lizzie is a graduate of Southeastern University (BA Theatre).

Cathy Settle has been teaching in Christian Education since 1995. After college, she began teaching at Grace Christian School in Columbus,Georgia. In 1997, she and her husband Jason decided it was best for her to stay home as they began to have a family. Over the next 15 years, as she and Jason raised their six children, she assisted in many areas of the music departments in the church and school ministries where they served. She served as the church pianist during that time as well as Director of Special Music and Children’s Programs. In 2012, she went back to teaching full time at Pleasant View Christian School in Pleasant View, TN, .where she remained until she came to Trinity in 2017.  She serves here as our Elementary Music Teacher and Upper Elementary and Middle School Chorus Director. Mrs. Settle’s desire is to instill in young hearts and minds a love for Jesus and music that will carry on throughout their lives.

Welcome back TCS Arts families!  We have so many exciting places for your student to plug in, and can’t wait to get started!!  Our Performing Arts community continues to grow and evolve, and we love to continue to build on this from year to year!!!

New to 2023-24 are a few staff members.  We would like to introduce Katie Palmer, who will be helping in our Middle School Band rehearsals and also with the Marching Lions.  We would also like to introduce Jason and Stacie Moore. Jason is the new Executive Pastor for Trinity Church, and he and Stacie will be helping us with High School Chapel worship and student vocals in a variety of ways.   And Stacie will be helping with the administration of the Performing Arts program as a whole.  Welcome Katie, Jason and Stacie!!

We have several new offerings this year, including clarinet, voice, and even harp. We offer electives in the Performing Arts in a variety of areas, starting in the 4th grade. Often families will ask when these electives are offered, and how their student can get involved. GO WEEK - AUSTRIA

We are planning a GO Week trip to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria for GO Week 2024.  This will be Performing Arts and Missions focused, which is why it is listed here in the Performing Arts section.  We are beginning to promote the general details of this trip, as we know many of you will be quite interested.  We will tour Vienna and the life of Mozart, Salzburg where Mozart was born and The Sound of Music was filmed, and also partner with local churches for some missions work.

Sharissa is married to Philip, and they have high school age twins, both who enjoy the Arts.  She is also an artist, painting with oils, acrylics, and watercolor, and enjoys traveling overseas, reading, arranging flowers, baking yummy gluten free desserts, and loving on her sweet Russian Blue cat, Lexie.

Bill Melton holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Education degrees from Columbus State University and an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia. He has served as a band director and music educator for the last 38 years, serving 27 of these years as the director of bands at Whitewater Middle School in Fayetteville, Georgia. Bill retired from public school teaching in 2017 and started teaching at Trinity Christian School in September 2020.  He is currently the 5th Grade Band Director. 

Bill’s bands have been selected to perform throughout the southeastern United States and performed for notable individuals such as Chick-Fil-A founder Truett Cathy, and former congressman Newt Gingrich.  He is currently an active private lesson instructor, composer, music evaluation judge and school instrumental band clinician. His students have participated in District Honor Band, Georgia All-State Band, Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony and the Governor’s Honors program.
Bill has been married to Tammy for 37 years. Bill and Tammy have two adult children, Amy, a Doctoral student at the University of Texas, Austin and Amber, an Occupational Therapist in Atlanta, Georgia.

Stacie Moore has been working in church worship & arts ministry for 28 years, alongside her husband Jason. She has served specifically in the area of Middle and High School Fine Arts. She is passionate about investing in students so they may discover, develop and deploy their gifts for Jesus. 

Stacie comes to us at Trinity serving our High School Chapel Worship students, and also assisting with Arts Administration for the department.  Stacie has 4 children, Caleb (20), Chaim (18), Caden (18) and Keira (15). When not serving in ministry, she is on the hunt for the best tacos and salsa.

Katie Palmer is an accomplished trumpet player and has had the opportunity to play with several notable organizations throughout her career. She studied Music Education at Kennesaw State University and performed in wind ensembles at Carnegie Hall and Midwest Band Clinic. She has played with several different brass ensembles for major events such as a Georgia Governor event, major holiday events for churches in the Atlanta area and more. She studied under several principal Atlanta symphony trumpet players throughout her years, and has taught trumpet lessons for over 6 years before taking a break and becoming a full time mom and missionary. 

Katie will be assisting our Middle School Band and also working with our Marching Lions.  Her passion for music and teaching has never left and she looks forward to coming alongside your students to help them love music, dedication and hard work just as much as she does.

Lizzie Perez is honored to serve the Roaring Dramatics and TCS family as our Theatre Director! She has lived and worked in Film/TV and Theatre in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and the Athens area. Throughout her career, she has had the incredible opportunity to create experiences and tell stories in many different mediums. Community Theatre credits include The Addams Family (Director), Mary Poppins (Director), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), Tuck Everlasting (Mae Tuck), The Little Mermaid (Ursula) and more. Professional credits include The Middle (NBC), Nunsense (Crown City Theater), and various background roles. 

Early in her career, she had the privilege of working with WinShape Camps for Communities developing, creating, and producing all elements of experience from large group production, graphic design, and curriculum. Her husband, AB, enjoys helping with her productions and they also lead worship together and are working towards an album. Lizzie is a graduate of Southeastern University (BA Theatre).

Cathy Settle has been teaching in Christian Education since 1995. After college, she began teaching at Grace Christian School in Columbus,Georgia. In 1997, she and her husband Jason decided it was best for her to stay home as they began to have a family. Over the next 15 years, as she and Jason raised their six children, she assisted in many areas of the music departments in the church and school ministries where they served. She served as the church pianist during that time as well as Director of Special Music and Children’s Programs. In 2012, she went back to teaching full time at Pleasant View Christian School in Pleasant View, TN, .where she remained until she came to Trinity in 2017.  She serves here as our Elementary Music Teacher and Upper Elementary and Middle School Chorus Director. Mrs. Settle’s desire is to instill in young hearts and minds a love for Jesus and music that will carry on throughout their lives.

ELECTIVES AT TCS

You may have noticed that in choosing Middle School electives for next year, Band, Orchestra and Chorus were slated to be three days per week, and that if students were to choose one of these three electives they did not have room for any others.  We have heard from your students, and have made the adjustment back to two days per week for 2023-24.  This means they WILL be able to have another elective in addition to Band, Orchestra or Chorus.  Mr. Vinson and I have been in close communication about this change, and feel it is best for your students, allowing them the choice of additional electives in addition to Band, Orchestra or Chorus.  

It is now time to make these selections: to indicate you DO wish to take Band, Orchestra or Chorus two days per week AND to select your additional elective.  IF YOUR CHILD IS WANTING TO TAKE BAND, CHORUS, OR ORCHESTRA, please email adam.vinson@tcslions.org directly for an alternate form that will allow your child to take Band, Chorus or Orchestra with an additional elective as well. 

Exciting Announcement - we have created a Music Enrichment elective as a one day addition to Band or Orchestra, taught by both Mr. Hurt and Mrs. Manwaring.  The prerequisite to this elective is that you select Band or Orchestra as your primary elective.  If so, you can choose to add a third day with this Music Enrichment course.  It will involve a variety of fun and challenging aspects of music including theory, small and large ensemble, improvisation, composition, extra performance opportunity, and much more.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOr - APRIL EDITION

The Role of Performance in Music Education

Well, it’s time to start thinking about all of our end-of-year performances.  Whether a theatrical, instrumental or choral event, many of our students are about to take the stage as the school year comes to a close.  Performance anxiety, stage fright, cold feet. Whatever you call it, it’s not just for performers! Whether it’s feeling nervous before a big presentation at work, needing a deep breath before making an important phone call, or feeling apprehensive before a job interview, we spend lots of our time preparing for life’s little “performances,” even if we never actually step foot on a stage.

  • For musicians, on-stage performances are a regular part of life—music is meant to be shared and experienced, not just practiced in private! Yet for many music students, recitals and concerts are seen as a form of punishment instead of a reward for months of hard work and preparation. Why is this?

    Whenever we talk to students about what makes them reluctant to perform, we hear a few of the same concerns: what if I mess up? What if everyone else performs better than me? What if I spent a long time composing a new song, and no one likes it? It doesn’t help that media sources often show performances as a venue only reserved for celebrities, where any mistakes can go viral instantly.

    We believe performing should be a celebration and a way for musicians to share their love of music with each other and the world. It’s why we work hard to create an environment where recitals are safe and supportive places to have fun and learn from other students. It’s also why we work with our communities to look for alternate places to perform, from parades to local neighborhood events. The more opportunities a student has to perform, the more natural it will feel. And over time, those feelings of anxiety will be replaced with excitement and joy, making all the practicing and rehearsing well worth the effort.

    So how can you support a reluctant performer? Here’s a few things to talk about the next time your music student expresses anxiety about an upcoming performance opportunity:

    1. It’s totally normal to mess up. Even successful musicians miss a note or forget the lyrics to a song. There’s no such thing as a “perfect” musician. If you make a mistake, just keep playing or try again. Most of the time, people won’t even notice, and if they do, it’s okay. A mistake is just a chance to try again.

    2. Real life isn’t reality TV. The only judge at your performance is yourself. Try your best, and learn from your performance. After a recital, sit down with your student and talk about the positives—what went well? What part was the most fun? Reframe mistakes as learning opportunities, and ask “what would you do differently next time?”

    3. Ask your student how they want to celebrate their performance. Concerts and recitals are a wonderful opportunity to build new family traditions that can last a lifetime. Are you a family that goes out to ice cream after a concert? Or do you make sure to make their favorite meal before each recital? Whatever you do, teach your student that sharing their music with others is an act to be celebrated!

    4. Lastly, make sure to talk about performances regularly, not just once a year during recital season. Ask students if the music they are learning is something they might like to perform, or brainstorm ways they can rehearse their pieces in a low-stress environment, like an at-home performance for extended family and friends.

    While we believe performing is an integral part of any music training, we also know that learning to perform helps students in ways that extend far beyond the music world. Performances encourage goal setting, increase confidence, and teach communication skills that translate into effective public speaking, negotiation, and problem-solving. It’s always our goal to make more than musicians—we want to be part of the process that helps your student grow into someone who can tackle all of life’s little performances, both on and off the stage.

SOUTHERN STAR MUSIC FESTIVAL

We have just completed our Middle School Band and Orchestra performances at the Southern Star Music Festival at Six Flags.  Friday, April 21st they performed in front of a panel of adjudicators, and received valuable feedback.  The professionalism of this environment was so beneficial as they presented their pieces on the live stage.  Then on Saturday, the 22nd we enjoyed a fun day in the park followed by the Celebration Ceremony in the Six Flags Amphitheater.  This is an annual weekend of fun that our Middle School Band and Orchestra can look forward to.  Well done to all!

The Role of Performance in Music Education

Well, it’s time to start thinking about all of our end-of-year performances.  Whether a theatrical, instrumental or choral event, many of our students are about to take the stage as the school year comes to a close.  Performance anxiety, stage fright, cold feet. Whatever you call it, it’s not just for performers! Whether it’s feeling nervous before a big presentation at work, needing a deep breath before making an important phone call, or feeling apprehensive before a job interview, we spend lots of our time preparing for life’s little “performances,” even if we never actually step foot on a stage.

  • For musicians, on-stage performances are a regular part of life—music is meant to be shared and experienced, not just practiced in private! Yet for many music students, recitals and concerts are seen as a form of punishment instead of a reward for months of hard work and preparation. Why is this?

    Whenever we talk to students about what makes them reluctant to perform, we hear a few of the same concerns: what if I mess up? What if everyone else performs better than me? What if I spent a long time composing a new song, and no one likes it? It doesn’t help that media sources often show performances as a venue only reserved for celebrities, where any mistakes can go viral instantly.

    We believe performing should be a celebration and a way for musicians to share their love of music with each other and the world. It’s why we work hard to create an environment where recitals are safe and supportive places to have fun and learn from other students. It’s also why we work with our communities to look for alternate places to perform, from parades to local neighborhood events. The more opportunities a student has to perform, the more natural it will feel. And over time, those feelings of anxiety will be replaced with excitement and joy, making all the practicing and rehearsing well worth the effort.

    So how can you support a reluctant performer? Here’s a few things to talk about the next time your music student expresses anxiety about an upcoming performance opportunity:

    1. It’s totally normal to mess up. Even successful musicians miss a note or forget the lyrics to a song. There’s no such thing as a “perfect” musician. If you make a mistake, just keep playing or try again. Most of the time, people won’t even notice, and if they do, it’s okay. A mistake is just a chance to try again.

    2. Real life isn’t reality TV. The only judge at your performance is yourself. Try your best, and learn from your performance. After a recital, sit down with your student and talk about the positives—what went well? What part was the most fun? Reframe mistakes as learning opportunities, and ask “what would you do differently next time?”

    3. Ask your student how they want to celebrate their performance. Concerts and recitals are a wonderful opportunity to build new family traditions that can last a lifetime. Are you a family that goes out to ice cream after a concert? Or do you make sure to make their favorite meal before each recital? Whatever you do, teach your student that sharing their music with others is an act to be celebrated!

    4. Lastly, make sure to talk about performances regularly, not just once a year during recital season. Ask students if the music they are learning is something they might like to perform, or brainstorm ways they can rehearse their pieces in a low-stress environment, like an at-home performance for extended family and friends.

    While we believe performing is an integral part of any music training, we also know that learning to perform helps students in ways that extend far beyond the music world. Performances encourage goal setting, increase confidence, and teach communication skills that translate into effective public speaking, negotiation, and problem-solving. It’s always our goal to make more than musicians—we want to be part of the process that helps your student grow into someone who can tackle all of life’s little performances, both on and off the stage.

SOUTHERN STAR MUSIC FESTIVAL

This past weekend our Middle School Band and Orchestra performed at the Southern Star Music Festival at Six Flags.  Friday night they performed in front of a panel of adjudicators, and received valuable feedback as they continue to grow.  The professionalism of this environment was so beneficial as they presented their pieces on the live stage.  Then on Saturday we enjoyed a fun day in the park followed by the Celebration Ceremony in the Six Flags Amphitheater.  This is an annual weekend of fun that our Middle School Band and Orchestra can look forward to.  Well done to all!

HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE

Thespian Troupe 8184 will host our annual Thespian Inductions for their newest members this coming Tuesday, April 25th at 6pm in the Student Center!  Please come out and support these students, this will be a fun and momentous occasion for all!

These new inductees have participated in a series of challenges this past week to promote spirit, involvement, and excitement for the Troupe.  These activities promote an understanding of the responsibility and honor it is to be a Thespian at TCS, and also how much fun this community is!  And now it’s time to induct!

DANCE CLUB

Our Dance Club recital is rapidly approaching.  This new offering for our students has become quickly popular, and we are working toward our very first Trinity Dance performance!  The recital will take place at the Wadsworth Theatre in Downtown Newnan on May 9th at 6pm.  Admission is free - please reach out to Kelsea Krisle at kelsea.krisle@tcslions.org with any questions.

GO WEEK - AUSTRIA

We are planning a GO Week trip to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria for GO Week 2024.  This will be Performing Arts and Missions focused, which is why it is listed here in the Performing Arts section.  We are beginning to promote the general details of this trip, as we know many of you will be quite interested.  We will tour Vienna and the life of Mozart, Salzburg where Mozart was born and The Sound of Music was filmed, and also partner with local churches for some missons work.

At this time all we need is your name to go on our list of those interested.  We do not have the specifics yet, including cost, but as an international trip it will be one of the more expensive GO Week trips.  Full details will go out some time in August with the rest of the GO Week trips, we are simply creating an interest list at this time.

DISTRICT FINE ARTS FESTIVAL

Recently Trinity hosted the District Fine Arts Festival for the Assemblies of God.  Our students had the chance to perform in many different Arts categories including singing, instrumental performance, preaching, puppetry, comedy, physical art, photography and more.  This festival is designed to give students a chance to express their art form in a way that honors the Lord.  They are critiqued on their performance, including their ministry effectiveness, and those who score high enough are invited to the National Fine Arts Festival in early August.  We had 65 students participate this year.  Congratulations to our 18 merit winners, individuals or groups who won their category for the entire state! We also had 43 entries score in the top three in the state. Well done, Trinity!!  And now, on to Columbus, Ohio for the National Festival in a few months.  This is always a highlight for our students.  Make sure to participate next Spring as we host again.  For more information, please email tim.hurt@tcslions.org

It turns out football and music do have a lot in common.  At least for Jason Kelce (NFL - Philadelphia Eagles) and Brandon Facyson (NFL - Indianapolis Colts). Here are two interesting stories of these two individuals and how music enhanced their skill set in all areas of life, and helped them in the professional world of football.  One of these is quite close to home…

Jason Kelce is currently a center for the Philadelphia Eagles.  He took up the baritone saxophone in middle school and high school, and has attributed his musical experiences to his work ethic and practice routines on the field.  “I consider a lot of my growth as a player and as a person happened learning the saxophone: being coached by conductors and teachers, reading sheet music and understanding how to practice by repeating the same thing over and over again and you see how much easier the song becomes,” Kelce said. “If you want to see how very cut-and-dry, how practice can cause you to improve, play an instrument. There’s not going to be anything more cut-and-dry. The first time you play the piano, you’re going to be pretty bad. You’ll get better pretty quick just by practicing. The value of practice and the value in putting in extra time, all of that was taught from music.”

Kelce also had great encouragement from his music and athletic directors.  “(Coach) encouraged guys to play sports and band,” Kelce said of Baker. “I always felt like at Cleveland Heights that there wasn’t this separation between band and athletics. All of my best friends and the guys I hung out with, did both.”

“The band works hard and late hours,” said another of his football coaches. “It’s a heck of a commitment when you have to go to practice after you’re getting out of practice. He balanced his studies and he’s just a well-rounded person. What he did has helped him become the man that he is today. He was passionate about all those things and worked everything out.”

Brandon Facyson is currently a cornerback for the Indianapolis Colts.  Brandon graduated from Northgate High School right here in Newnan, and was heavily involved in the band program under the direction of Alan Armstrong.  Here is Alan’s story…

This past Friday evening, I was helping aim our senior families over to a group picture on "Senior Night" when one of our school secretaries called to me "Alan, when you get a second, someone wants to see you".  I was preoccupied trying to make sure we got a good picture of all our seniors and assumed it was someone who was upset about something when she called to me again "Alan, you really need to come over".  I walked in her direction and then noticed this young man with a huge grin on his face. 

8 years after his graduation from our HS, one of the finest young men I've ever had the pleasure to teach had come back home to visit.  Brandon played sax in my concert band but also played football.  Early in his HS career, the Athletic Director had half jokingly told me one day "you can't have him, he's special"  Apparently Brandon had told one of the coaches he really enjoyed music and they were afraid I would try to convince him to give up football and join the marching band. 

He played in our concert bands for two years while playing football.

He got out of Band class after his sophomore year to get some extra weight training to bulk up a bit.  He did that with my blessing as it had become obvious to everyone that our AD had been right, he WAS special on the football field and I didn't want to hold him back in that area of his life.  For his senior year, he asked if he could come back to our Wind Ensemble because he had missed playing his horn.  He finished his senior year as a highly recruited Div I quality athlete, a sax player in our top ensemble and an honor graduate as well.  He went on to a standout collegiate career where he also prepared for his ultimate goal, being a doctor. 

After finishing his collegiate career he earned a spot with the Los Angeles Chargers and now plays for the Indianapolis Colts.  When we had a chance to catch up Friday night, I found the same incredibly kind, respectful, amazing young man I had met so many years ago.  We caught up for just a minute or two and then I asked if he was still planning to follow through on his long term goal.  He assured me that was still the "long term" plan, but said with a grin "I might play a few more years though...."  We laughed and I encouraged him to play as long as he wanted and his health held out, but I have NO doubt, this young man will go on to finish his working life as a doctor helping others when he hangs up his uniform for the last time. 

Don't ever let ANYONE tell you kids can't perform at a high level and be successful as an athlete, a musician AND a scholar.  No one said it was easy but I've learned over the years to never put MY limits on kids who wanted to push the boundaries of what people thought was possible, even if one of "those people" was me.

I hope one day EVERY teacher gets to teach a kid like Brandon!

DISTRICT FINE ARTS FESTIVAL

Last week Trinity hosted the District Fine Arts Festival for the Assemblies of God.  Our students had the chance to perform in many different Arts categories including singing, instrumental performance, preaching, puppetry, comedy, physical art, photography and more.  This festival is designed to give students a chance to express their art form in a way that honors the Lord.  They are critiqued on their performance, including their ministry effectiveness, and those who score high enough are invited to the National Fine Arts Festival in early August.  We had 65 students participate this year.  Congratulations to our 18 merit winners, individuals or groups who won their category for the entire state! We also had 43 entries score in the top three in the state. Well done, Trinity!!  And now, on to Columbus, Ohio for the National Festival in a few months.  This is always a highlight for our students.  Make sure to participate next Spring as we host again.  For more information, please email tim.hurt@tcslions.org

DISNEY'S THE JUNGLE BOOK Kids

DANCE CLUB

We are currently in rehearsals for all ages of our Dance Club, PreK through 12th grade.  This new offering for our students has become quickly popular, and we are working toward our first Trinity recital!  The recital will take place at the Wadsworth Theatre in Downtown Newnan on May 9th at 6pm.  More information to come - please reach out to Kelsea Krisle at kelsea.krisle@tcslions.org with any questions.
