visual arts
This class provides basic drawing skills and studio production. The students explore the elements and principles of design, realism drawing, color theory, art history, perspective, and symmetry.
applied designs (art for missions)
This course stresses the use of art as a form of missions. The work that is produced will be for the benefit of others and will give students who are creative and love art an opportunity to take an art class without the rigor of a more advanced art course. (No prerequisite)
Honors Studio
Honors Studio is a Pre-AP studio class that offers continual skill development as well as challenges students to grow and learn in their abilities, moving their art towards a means of personal communication in preparation for senior concentration AP Studio course. (Prerequisite: Visual Arts)
AP Studio
This advanced studio class aligns with the College Board for the Advanced Placement Studio Art Drawing Portfolio. Provides experiences using different drawing media and approaches for personal communication with their artwork. Requires submission of original works to be evaluated by the college board in the spring. (Prerequisite: Honors Studio)
PHOTOGRAPHY
This course is designed to introduce students to the basics of digital photography and digital imaging with an emphasis on the aesthetic, technical and critical thinking skills necessary throughout the process. Student work will be project oriented and outcome based. Required work will include the use of digital technology, hardware and software, necessary to do the required projects. Students will also learn basic color theory and the fundamentals of image processing.
