Mr. James Wheeler - High School Principal

A Message from the Principal

This week, our High School students had the privilege of hearing from Natalie Bacho, founder of Abby’s Angels Foundation. Natalie shared a powerful and heartfelt message about teen driving safety, born out of personal tragedy. After losing her daughter, Abby, in a fatal car accident in 2012, Natalie and her family created Abby’s Angels to spread awareness and education about safe teen driving.  Her presentation deeply impacted our students, reminding each of us of the importance of making wise and intentional choices behind the wheel.

Congratulations to our Lady Lions Volleyball Team for advancing to the State Final Four! We are incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and perseverance throughout the season. Their dedication and competitive spirit have been an inspiration to our entire Trinity community. Way to go, Lions!

CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FAIR THIS WEEK

NOVEMBER - APPLY TO COLLEGE MONTH

Georgia Apply to College (GAC) is part of the American College Application Campaign, a national initiative of ACT's Center for Equity in Learning to increase the number of students accessing postsecondary education. In support of GAC each year, the Governor has proclaimed November to be Georgia Apply to College Month.

Many schools within Georgia waive their application fees during the month of November. In support of this initiative, the counseling department will be encouraging our seniors to apply to at least one college in the month of November.

INFORMATION ON AP EXAMS

Each spring, every Advanced Placement course culminates in a nationally standardized final exam showing that students have obtained mastery of the course materials. Depending on the score and the specific college that students will attend, students may receive college credit for passing the exam.

Taking an AP course shows a student's desire for rigor and is looked at favorably by college admission’s offices. While colleges want to see rigor in the student’s coursework, the AP exam score is not considered for admission to the college. Additionally, the AP exam score is not included on the TCS transcript and does not factor into their course grade or overall GPA.

The College Board requires us to order AP exams in the fall for all students who are currently enrolled in an AP course. It is our expectation that all students will take the AP exam for each AP course. If there are extenuating circumstances and you will not be able to take the AP Exam in May, please see Mrs. Hutcheson in the Building 5 admin suite by Oct. 28. After this date, exams will be ordered and students will incur a $50 fee per exam which will be charged to their Blackbaud accounts.

The fee for each AP exam is approximately $100. TCS will pay $50 of the AP exam fee, and students will be responsible for paying $50.
Please contact our AP Coordinator Michelle Hutcheson if you have any questions (michelle.hutcheson@tcslions.org).

SAVE THE DATE!: COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP

The counseling department is hosting a college financial aid workshop on Monday, Nov. 17th from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Student Activities Center in Building 1. Ben Meadows from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will be here to discuss the Hope Scholarship, state aid programs and share details about the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This will be an informative meeting for seniors and their parents looking at ways to pay for college and complete all the necessary college financial aid documentation.

2026-2027 FAFSA Released

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been released for the 2026-27 school year. The FAFSA is used to apply for federal, state and college aid, including grants and student loans. It would also apply to students in Georgia looking to receive the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship. In general, it needs to be filled out every year a student is in college in order to receive financial aid.

You can find information about the FAFSA and to apply at StudentAid.gov.

We will be hosting a FAFSA and HOPE Scholarship workshop on Monday, Nov. 17th from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Student Activities Center in Building 1.
