Walking Together | Engaged and Invested

What an encouraging start to the school year! As we continue walking through these first weeks together, I am reminded of our theme for this year: Engagement.

I am excited to share that our High School faculty and staff achieved 100% participation in this year’s Annual Fund! As a leader, it means a great deal to see our team not only invest their time, talents, and hearts into our students, but also choose to invest financially in the mission of Trinity. This matters! It demonstrates that our faculty and staff believe deeply in the mission they serve.

Our families will soon have the opportunity to continue that momentum during our Annual Fund Blitz, September 14–23. I encourage you to prayerfully consider participating as we invest together in what God is doing at Trinity.

And don’t forget…..Fall Pictures are Monday, August 24!

As we continue walking together, may we know God more deeply, make Him known more faithfully, and trust Him to guide every step we take. May the Lord bless you and your family this week.

Progress learning

We will be administering our first Progress Learning Benchmark assessments this week using the schedule below. Benchmarks are given at specific points during the school year to measure students’ current understanding of grade-level standards and skills. Benchmark results help us identify areas of strength, determine where additional support may be needed, and monitor academic growth over time. While these assessments do not count as grades, they provide valuable information that helps teachers guide instruction and helps students continue to grow. Please note that these scores will be entered into the Gradebook for documentation only and will not count towards a students’ grade in the class.

  • Tuesday, 8/25 & Wednesday, 8/26: Math Benchmarks in Algebra 1, Geometry, Honors Geometry, Algebra 2, and Honors Algebra 2

  • Thursday, 8/27 & Friday, 8/28: ELA Benchmarks in Literature & Composition I, Honors Literature & Composition I, Literature & Composition II, and Honors Literature & Composition II

We are two weeks into the school year now, and grades are being entered into Blackbaud regularly. Be sure to check Blackbaud consistently to know where your student stands in each class. Encourage your student to reach out to teachers directly with any questions about grades.

High School randomized drug screeningS

As per TCS policy, we will continue to perform random drug testing on our student population. A third party will be utilized to randomly select students from a roster provided to them by TCS. Parents will be notified if their student is selected prior to conducting the screen. In the event of a non-negative test, students will then be referred for outside testing and verification.

SENIORS

Senior Retreat

We are so excited to announce our class of 2027 Senior Retreat in the Mountains of Andrews, NC!  TCS is partnering with Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters, a gospel-centered Christian camp.  Students will enjoy a spiritual retreat full of time for worship, prayer, meditation, team building, and plenty of outdoor recreation!

The theme is “What is the gospel?” Our Seniors will be pointed to Christ as we seek to understand the person and work of Jesus in salvation.  Further, students will be challenged in their understanding of the role of the gospel in their lives as they continue their walk with Christ.

STEP 1: Parents, go to Blackbaud and pay the registration fee for the Senior Retreat ($150).

COLLEGE PLANNING

Chapel

"Students continued their chapel theme of Gospel Literacy as Pastor Fitzgerald from Dublin, Ireland, preached from Romans 1:16 on the power of the gospel to save. He shared his personal testimony of conversion, explaining how God transformed his life and then sent him into the world with a renewed gospel purpose. The service concluded with a charge from our Head of School, Dr. Mark Anthony, challenging students to consider what it means to be “sent” with the gospel into the various areas of ministry, vocation, relationships, and life where God is leading them."
