Need Flexibility with Distance Learning?

We realize that many parents are working during the day or that some students may not have adjusted easily to this new concept of distance learning. I encourage you to contact your child’s teacher. Your child’s teacher can help you navigate and prioritize assignments. They can adjust the workload, if necessary, and be flexible to your families’ individual needs.

Specials Classes

Specials classes are optional. Teachers are creating fun lessons to enhance student learning and to provide fun activities for our students to do. Families can choose to opt out of all of them or just one of them. I encourage you to do whatever works best for your family.

  • Monday: PE (includes activities to cover multiple days)

  • Tuesday: Art

  • Wednesday: STEAM or STEM

  • Thursday: Music

  • Friday: Spanish, Cultural Studies, Creative Drama

Helpful Tips

  • Be sure to read the email from your child's teacher, sent each evening by 7:00 pm, for details regarding the next day's lesson.

  • It is helpful to print the email as a checklist for your child.

  • Young children thrive on a routine. I encourage you to keep a routine as much as possible and to establish and follow the same procedures each day.

  • If you cannot make a scheduled Zoom session, that is okay. Teachers are recording the sessions and your child can view it at a more convenient time.

  • Reach out to your child's teacher for any questions or concerns. They are happy to help in any way.

  • If your child is feeling overwhelmed, allow him/her to take a break. We are offering lots of grace for our youngest learners as they adjust to distance learning.
