Trinity Playgrounds Receive Disinfectant Treatment
Our friends over at Firehouse Pressure Washing, donated their services by disinfecting our school’s playgrounds on Tuesday, March 24.
Michael Dingler and his Firehouse team used an effective sanitizing process to disinfect swings, slides, mini rock-climbing wall, stairs, and other high-contact surface areas.
We would like to thank Mr. Dingler and the team at Firehouse Pressure Washing for their support of TCS in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak. We are grateful for our partners in the community.
Trinity Christian School Receives Campus-wide Professional Sanitizing Service
We take the safety of our students and staff seriously. That’s why we’re grateful for our friends at PENCO Restoration and owner Joey Pendley for donating their professional sanitizing service.
On Tuesday, March 24, they applied a safe botanical disinfectant throughout our facilities, including all high-touch surfaces, classrooms, restrooms, gymnasium, multipurpose rooms, weight room and more.

Trinity Christian School Makes Remote Learning Fun and Engaging
On Thursday, March 19th, Trinity officially kicked off Day One of remote learning in light of the school’s closure due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) global pandemic.
In true TCS fashion, the school decided to incorporate fun and school spirit into virtual learning. The goal is to introduce creative and innovative ways of educating students and keeping them engaged.
We took a moment to hear from our principals on the difference remote learning is making. Here’s what they had to say:
HIGH SCHOOL
“TCS High School has now conquered Day 1 and 2 of remote learning. Different, yes. Lots of planning and recording, of course. Successful, without a doubt!
This is all being done with a spirit of positivity and pressing on towards the goals that stand before us - to impact today’s student for tomorrow’s world.
The remote learning days are being provided through a variety of digital formats and platforms, and our familiarity with Google classroom is making this much easier than we ever could have imagined.
As a result of our technological capabilities, …we are able to educate and provide our students with the quality of instruction that they would receive in the classroom.
It is our sincere hope that we can all return to our schools soon but in the meantime, we will do our best to make lemonade out of lemons! Communication and flexibility are key as we’re all in this together!” - Kimberly Jones, High School Principal
UPPER ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL
“Virtual learning has been a huge success so far for Upper Elementary and Middle School. I’m so proud of our teachers and the hard work they have put in to making this transition to remote learning such a smooth process. We have been able to create meaningful connections between teachers and students through the Zoom platform which is allowing our students to receive the help and support they need while also allowing them to connect with their classmates as well.
Students have been working and submitting assignments diligently and our teachers have found new ways to connect our students with the necessary content, giving me great confidence that our students are receiving all that they need during this time of closure to progress more than adequately in their academics.
I’m so thankful for all of the technology and resources available to us during this time to make continued learning possible. Parents have been so gracious and their outpouring of supportive emails have helped encourage and sustain each of our faculty as they continue to adjust their methods of teaching. Our students have also provided great feedback and seem to be enjoying the new approaches to learning that they are being exposed to as a result. LOWER ELEMENTARY
“Our first two days of remote learning has been a success! I am very pleased with the quality of education our teachers are continuing to provide remotely. Our top priorities in Lower School were to continue to offer a quality education, to strengthen our spiritual focus, and to keep our TCS community connected, all while not overwhelming our parents of young children.
Teachers are utilizing ClassDojo, ClassTag, Loom, Zoom, Google Meet, and other applications to connect with students and their families through videos and live chat. This has been instrumental in maintaining a personal connection and keeping the feeling of community alive! We are continuing to offer Specials classes throughout remote learning to encourage the growth and development of our students in areas such as PE, Art, STEAM, Music, and Creative Drama. We are encouraging participation in PE type activities everyday to promote exercise and wellness during this time of isolation and social distancing.

TCS S.T.E.A.M. Program Teaches 2nd Graders to Program Software Through Gameplay
Technology plays an important role in society, without question. That is why Trinity Christian School’s S.T.E.A.M. Program continues to focus on educating students about the benefits of technology with the use of fun and engaging lessons.
Recently, 2nd grade students began learning the basics of Block Coding use Apple iPads for programing software through the use of gameplay.
Student first started learning about cardinal directions and how to move items. Coding with the use of characters from the game Angry Birds kept students engaged. Students had to develop sequential patterns to move the characters from one side of a puzzle map to the other. To do this, they had to stack code blocks together in a linear sequence. The block-based format of these puzzles helps students learn about sequences and concepts without having to perfect syntax.
Through gameplay, students are able to manipulate code and make the program do exactly what they want it to do. When they make a mistake they can see what their program is capable of doing and see where they need to make changes.

Athlete Braden Burnett Sets Sights on University of North Georgia
Trinity Christian School is proud of Braden Burnett and his decision to sign with University of North Georgia as he plans to further his basketball career. Braden plans to major in Business Administration.

GO Church Atlanta Makes Generous Donation to Support TCS
Trinity Christian School is proud to recognize and thank Pastor JC Worley and the congregation of GO Church for their outstanding gift of $10,000 to the TCS Annual Fund. Thanks to their Kingdom minded contribution, resources will immediately be placed into use for an extraordinary classroom experience that will impact students for generations to come.

At Trinity, the Upper Elementary (4th - 5th) and Lower Elementary (Preschool - 3rd) students, teachers and staff are celebrating “Read Across America Week” March 2 - 6.
Fun classroom activities are planned with an extra emphasis on reading.
We are encouraging our students to dress down “Dr. Seuss” style in honor of the week. Check out the dress-down theme options below.

Senior Pledges to Pursue Clinical Psychology and Football at McPherson College
Senior Brett Dowler is heading to McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. For three years, he played Wide Receiver and Defensive Back at Trinity. Brett is looking to study Clinical Psychology while playing football. TCS is proud of Brett and his continued pursuit of excellence
High School Senior Becomes Certified Nursing Assistant Before Graduating
Senior, Ashlyn J., successfully passed the Certified Nursing Assistant Exam on 1/22/20. She is now a CNA even before graduating from High School!
Ashlyn has a huge jumpstart on her career in nursing by completing this program while only 17. The Trinity Family is very proud of Ashlyn for her dedication and hard work, and for setting the example as a trailblazer. She is leading the way for many more TCS students to pursue their career goals while still in high school.

Senior Sharmari Reed Signs With Kennesaw State University
Sharmari Reed, Trinity Christian School senior, signed a Letter of Intent to attend Kennesaw State University to play college football in 2020. TCS is honored to celebrate with Sharmari as he prepares for success at the collegiate level.
TCS recently hosted a celebration in honor of Sharmari’s decision to sign with KSU. Coaches and teachers, as well as his friends and teammates attended to show their support.
While at Trinity, Sharmari played football and was named to first team All-State and first team All County twice. He also ran track with an appearance in the GISA State Championship. He holds school records in the 50 meter dash (6.26 seconds) and 200 meters (22.58 seconds), while also holding the second-fastest mark in the 100 meters at 11.01 seconds.
Sharmari is a well-rounded student who has his eye on pursuing a career in either Sports Management or Sports Medicine while at KSU.
The Trinity family is proud of Sharmari and his achievements on and off the field, and we look forward to seeing him shine in his future pursuits.

TCS Student Athletes Receive Mike Fitzpatrick "Athlete of the Week" Award
TCS Shotgun Teams Compete in GAPPS State Championship
The Varsity and Middle School Shotgun teams recently competed in the GAPPS Shotgun State Championship in Savannah with both teams receiving runner up honors.
The Varsity Team earned their first team award and was led by Mikie Lachey, Mason Waters, Zed Wingo, Stephen Carter, Tyler Stanford, and team captain Andrew Lamb. Bella Scott received individual 3rd place honors among the Lady competitors for her performance on the trap field. This meet also marked the final competition for Tyler Stanford who has been a standout team member for the past 6 seasons. This was also the first state competition for new team member and state qualifiers: Andrew Cook, Ashleigh Rogers, Augie Valli, Bluther Middleton, Caroline Ohmseider, Mason Sells, and Reese Byars.
The Middle School team also received runner up honors and was led by RJ Coker, Ethan Hay, and Joshua Harper. The squad of Coker, Hay, and Harper posted the highest combined trap scores among all middle schoolers. Individual honors went to Joshua Harper and Ethan Hay who posted identical trap scores of 84. The tie was settled after a dramatic shoot-off between the two Lions that required three rounds of head-to-head competition to settle the tie with Harper winning 2nd and Hay 3rd. Strong performances were also posted by Roland LeBlanc, new team member Jack Mullen, and TJ Timpson. TJ posted an impressive 100+ target improvement over last year’s state meet.
Both the Varsity and Middle School teams will now shift to off-season training to keep the their skills sharp and continue their development. The team continues to recruit new and prospective team members.

Student Athlete Seeks to Further Her Career at Troy University
Varsity Volleyball Student Athlete, Savannah P. recently decided to sign a letter of intent to attend Troy University, in Troy, Alabama next year. Anyone who knows her, knows that Savannah is committed to excellence on and off the court.
Savannah has played varsity volleyball all four years at Trinity, and was recognized as the Mike Fitzpatrick Student of the Week three years in a row (2016, 2017 & 2018). Below are a few more of Savannah’s achievements in sports.

Senior Accepts Softball Scholarship to Appalachian State University
Trinity Christian School senior, Claire C. signed a Letter of Intent to attend Appalachian State University and play softball in Fall 2020. TCS recently hosted a celebration in honor of Claire’s decision to sign with ASU. Coaches and teachers, as well as Claire’s classmates and teammates attended to show their support.
Claire is at the top of her class, with a 4.32 GPA. As a student athlete, she played tennis, was on the track team, made the All-State Softball Team for the Georgia Dugout Club, and was on Trinity’s first All Region Softball Team.
Claire is a well-rounded student, who is also involved in the National Honor Society and BETA Club.
So what do you do when you’re also passionate about advocating women’s rights? You make plans to study Pre-Law and Political Science. That’s what Claire is focused on pursuing along her career path.

Drones Built by TCS High Schoolers Take First Flight
On Friday, November 8th, high school students from Mr. Russell Jones' Introduction to Drones class, launched drones they built for the first time.
In this video, Mr. Russell discusses the achievements of this first flight, and the process that went into preparing for take-off.
During this semester, students learned the practical uses for drones, safety, the future of drones, basic drone operations, and underwent weeks of flight simulator training.

MS Academic Bowl Team Finishes Second Overall in YACS Tournament
We want to congratulate our Middle School Academic Bowl Team as they finished second overall in the tournament held at Young Americans Christian School. The tournament was held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, and our team competed against eight other middle schools. .
Our MS team is just in its second year of existence, and is led by Sarah Scott and Dylan Higgins who are both middle school teachers. We look forward to seeing many more achievements by our students.

Congrats to our 5th and 6th grade football team for winning their conference championship over Landmark Christian 35-6 on Saturday, October 27, 2019.
