MARCHING LIONS NEWS

Marching Lions Family Night

Sunday, November 2 @ 6pm

Wow!  What a season!!

Come celebrate with our Marching Lions families as we celebrate all that we have accomplished this 2025 season!

Senior Spotlight!

We would like to take a moment and honor our 2026 Seniors!

ROSANA BOWLING

Rosi has been a Marching Lion for 4 years. Her most memorable moment was when “I broke my rifle…. RIP Rafayel”…. and subsequently witnessed his ascension to the stick graveyard, where he will eternally rest. “Fly high, my son.”

After graduation, Rosi plans to attend Mercer University and study Pharmacology. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:13-14 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.

“I wish to thank my parents for dealing with my antics, Coach Kim for always believing in me, Gracie, Taryn, Brie, and Sophia for being the best guard members ever, and all my equipment for not killing me.... yet.”

ADDISON SCHRIKS

Addison has been a Marching Lion for 2 years. Her most memorable moment was getting to stand on the field and receive awards at the first competition of the season. After graduation, Addison plans to attend college and study biology or political science.

Her favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 4:18 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

“I want to thank my parents for always supporting my dreams and all of the directors for showing up for us each and every day. I also want to thank my fellow band members for their constant support and for always bringing laughter into every practice and game.”

LORELAI SELLECK

Lorelai has been a Marching Lion for 7 years as one of the original members when it was simply a drum corps. Her most memorable moment was planning how to reveal the show theme to everyone with all the other seniors. After graduation, Lorelai plans to attend college and study analytical chemistry and work in forensic toxicology.

Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

“Thank you to Mr. Hurt for always believing in me and for creating this program that made me into who I am.”

HANK WOODY

Hank has been a Marching Lion for 4 years. His most memorable moment was “HEYYY HANK…!” and the rest of the band would follow with “What’s next on the playlist?!”  After graduation, Hank plans to pursue studying STEM in college with biomedical engineering.

His favorite Bible verse is Psalm 27:13-14 “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

“Thank you to:

My mom for pushing me to be my best self.

My dad for inspiring my love of music.

Mr. Hurt and Mrs. Manwaring for encouraging and supporting every desire to create.

Mrs. Palmer, especially for her love and sacrifice for this band.

The Lord for His constant provision for my life!”

SOPHIA HURT

Sophia has been a Marching Lion for 5 years. Her favorite memories are the long bus rides we take as a team. “Whether the conversations are deep or ridiculous, I always have a wonderful time with my bandmates.” After graduation, Sophia plans to go to college to pursue a degree in music composition and creative writing.

Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-8: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”

“I'd like to thank my parents for always showing their patience and support. I am also so thankful for my siblings and friends, who have made these past years so special. Lastly, I'd like to give a big shoutout to Mrs. Palmer for all of her hard work and encouragement over the years!”

AUTUMN MANKUS

Autumn has been a Marching Lion for 5 years. Her most memorable moments are being in her first marching band competition last year at the Super Bowl of Sound. After graduation, Autumn plans to study music performance at Mercer University.

Her favorite bible verse is Psalms 150:3-6:Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with timbrel and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”

“I’d like to thank my family for always supporting me through everything I’ve done in marching band. I’d like to thank Mr. Hurt, Mrs. Palmer, and Coach Kim for always pushing the Marching Lions to go above and beyond. Lastly, I’d like to thank all my friends in the band for making it such an amazing experience for me, especially the winds section. I’m so grateful for all the support and fun memories you’ve given me. I love you guys!”

Sometimes you skip practice and grab ice cream together! This past Monday, we had a blast enjoying ice cream together as we closed out our Marching season together.

Saturday October 25th

The Marching Lions just completed their final competition of the season. Stay tuned for next week Inside the Pride for the results!

INSTRUMENT REPAIR

We use Big Note Music for on site repair of many of our musical instruments.  If you have an instrument that needs repair, this may be a great option for you.  The process works with you filling out an online form, pre-paying for the repair, and then they come for a scheduled repair session right on our Trinity campus.  Your student wouldn’t be away from their instrument except when it’s on the repair table.  This convenient option has worked for us for a few years now.  Simply fill out the online form and let us know that a repair has been scheduled.
