NATIONAL FINE ARTS, ORLANDO

Earlier this month our students participated in a National Fine Arts competition, and the results speak for themselves!  What an incredible and successful week it was, with multiple superior ratings given to our Trinity students!  The most important part was the spiritual impact on our kids.  They were ministered to in so many ways, as they also ministered to others through their performances.

Fine Arts is a competition we host at Trinity on the state level every Spring.  Students who excel in their categories are then invited to compete on the national level, and this year it was in Orlando, FL.  We performed throughout this week, and received several superior ratings including the categories of:

  • Digital Photography Sr. - Jaxton Anthony

  • Songwriting - Hannah Heilman

  • Short Sermon Sr. - Brianna Hernandez

  • Flash Fiction - Rebecca Savoy

  • Mobile Photography - Abby Wozniak

  • Children’s Literature - Tania Anand, Elly Dallas, Kristen Savoy, Rebecca Savoy

  • Traditional Percussion Ensemble - Kylie Beckman, Samuel Hurt, Nick Jonassen, Emma Jonassen, Anna Manwaring, Courtney Richardson, Clint Robertson, Isaiah Ware, Gavin Weidekamp

This is quite an honor.  We are SO PROUD of our students, and hope to increase the numbers involved in the future.  Fine Arts next year will again be hosted on our Trinity campus, and will be April 8-9, 2022.  Mark your calendars!

This edition features our Varsity Drum Corps and some of our High School vocalists on their way to Orlando. We are so proud of all of our Arts students, and love to see them at their full potential!

ORLANDO BOUND...

In March of this year some of our students participated in the state Fine Arts competition, hosted by Trinity Church and through the Assemblies of God.  Several of our students actually won their categories, receiving Merit Awards for their performances.  Included was Addie Moore (rising 10th grader) who won the state category for Female Vocal Solo - quite an accomplishment!  Also, our Varsity Drum Corps won the Traditional Percussion Ensemble category.

Those who qualified were invited to Orlando in early August to participate in the next round, National Fine Arts.  This week-long competition and Youth Conference will host thousands of teenagers from all across the country, and is a wonderful opportunity for our students to compete at a high level.  It is also a wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth through the evening services and fellowship with other youth.  Please pray for us as we travel the first week of August, and help us cheer on our Lions as we perform in our Arts categories for the glory of God!

Middle School Musical

This year we will have a musical dedicated to our Middle School Theatre students. We are so excited to offer this under the direction of Mrs. Emily Litton and other Performing Arts staff. We plan to audition and cast soon after the school year begins, and to perform in November before the Thanksgiving break. Keep an eye out for more details. This is going to be so much fun!!

Tim Hurt - Performing Arts Director

A Note from the Director:

This year has been amazing!  We are in the middle of concert season, and already have seen wonderful performances by our Orchestras and Bands.  Fiddler on the Roof was professional and inspiring.  And this week our Choruses, talent shows, and Treasure Island rounded out the year with success and progress.  My heart is full as I reflect on the year and what God has allowed for our Trinity family to do together.  What a great culmination as we perform and give God the glory!

A special thanks to all of our parents for your support and encouragement.  Thank you for jumping in for a few minutes, or for many hours.  Thank you for your Annual Fund support, and your generosity throughout our programs.  You are truly the best!  We couldn’t have done it without you!

We pray God’s richest blessings on you as you go into the summer and beyond.  Keep playing your instruments, keep singing, keep acting.  Get involved in Arts camps, put on your own talent show or play.  Let’s keep creating, and come next school year ready to achieve new heights together!

An Evening of Classics Concert - WELL DONE

This past Tuesday our High School Chamber Group hosted “An Evening of Classics”.  This concert was well done by all, and showcased our High School students and some of the pieces they have been working on this semester from the Baroque Era.

image2.jpg

Next up will be our May concert, where we will switch to the Modern Era and a different set of composers.  You won’t want to miss this, on Tuesday, May 4th at 7pm.  Their abilities and progress will be sure to amaze you!  See you there!

Fine Arts Competition - March 26 & 27

The Fine Arts competition is a chance for students to showcase their talents in all areas of Fine Arts, including vocal, instrumental, dramatic, physical art, preaching, and a host of other categories. Check out https://www.georgiayouthmin.org/fine-arts for more information. Let’s support our students as they prepare and perform. They are all doing such a great job!

March 16 @ 7pm in The Gathering Place

We have rescheduled our Evening of Classics concert to THIS WEEK Tuesday.  This event will feature our High School Chamber Group, playing music from the Classical era and beyond.  It will be quaint and festive, with a bonfire and refreshments on the patio following the concert.  Free admission.  Masks will be required indoors.  See you there!

Fine Arts Competition - March 26 & 27

Several student groups and individuals will be participating in this year’s Fine Arts competition.  This is put on by the Assemblies of God, which is the fellowship Trinity Church belongs to.  Some of our groups will include the High School Chapel Worship Team, Varsity and Middle School Drum Corps, and several of our students entering individual categories.

High School Musical - May 6-8

Our production dates for Fiddler on the Roof will be Thursday through Saturday, May 6-8.  Ticket links to come soon - be on the lookout for those!
