LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL

Mr. Vinson spoke to our students about the meaning of Christmas, specifically how the significance of Christmas extends far beyond the simple story of Jesus being born in Bethlehem. The real meaning is found in the reason behind Jesus coming and what was accomplished through his life. Focusing on the words PEACE, HOPE and JOY, Mr. Vinson used various Scripture passages to help our students see how Jesus’ coming that first Christmas helped bring PEACE between us and God, HOPE for our future, and JOY for our daily lives.

LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL

Coach Settle challenged our students about the need to give thanks to God with an attitude of gratefulness for all He has done for us. Using OT Israel as an example, he reminded us that oftentimes we are tempted to forget God’s goodness and complain, even though God shows His goodness and provision every single day. May we all remember to give thanks for God’s faithfulness this week!

A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON

Psalm 100 reminds us of the great blessings we enjoy as believers and the countless reasons for us to be thankful. Not only do we serve a God who claims us as His own, He has revealed Himself as the source of all goodness who gives an endless supply of love to those who follow Him. May you find time during this Thanksgiving season to make a joyful noise to Him by giving thanks for His ongoing faithfulness to you!

LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL

Pastor JC Worley from GO Church reminded our students that Jesus is the source of true satisfaction in life. Using the acronym “SNICKERS”, Pastor JC helped our kids to see that Jesus provides Salvation, New Life, Intercession, Comfort, Koinonia, Eternity, Rewards, and the Holy Spirit to those who follow Him. While the candy bar is great (and our students got to enjoy one in chapel), Jesus provides true satisfaction to all those who are hungry!

LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL

BJ Cobb, pastor of First Baptist Senoia, spoke to our students on the story of Elijah from I Kings 19. Pastor BJ helped remind our students of the need to listen to God’s voice in the highs (victory at Mt. Carmel) and the lows (running from Queen Jezebel) of our Christian walk. Sometimes God’s voice comes to us through pastors, teachers, parents or friends, but God’s voice is always consistent with His Word. Thank you Pastor BJ for the reminder to listen to God’s voice over all the other noise coming to us today!

Mr. Vinson explained to our students the desire we have at TCS to instill within each of them a biblical worldview. The following truths were emphasized to help the students remember what Christians believe to be true of our world.

  1. God created everything

  2. Man ruined everything

  3. God still controls everything

  4. Jesus fixes everything

LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL

Mr. Vinson reminded our students of the call towards excellence given in I Cor. 10:31 for us to do everything this school for the glory of God. Using the story of Jesus turning water into wine in John 2, Mr. Vinson helped our students see that just as the servants filled their water jars to the brim, we too need to approach every task, including how we eat and drink, with a desire to do it with excellence for God’s glory. Use this lesson to encourage your child even at home to “fill it to the brim” in all they do!

LIONS OF THE WEEK

Starting next week we will be honoring a different student from each grade level for their hard work, exceptional performance or Christ-like example.
