The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

We had a fantastic Read Across America Week! So many parents, older siblings, and faculty joined our classrooms as guest readers. Students looked amazing in their themed dress-down days, and the excitement for reading was contagious. Thank you to everyone who helped make the week so special!

As we move through March, we are onward and upward and excited for all the learning and fun ahead!

SAT10 Standardized Testing (3rd grade Only) 

Our Stanford 10 standardized testing for third graders is coming up in just one week! Please make sure to have your child present on March 16-17. Students will take this norm-referenced test to show growth and mastery of skills and content in comparison to a national standard. There will not be any makeup testing. Please make sure to have your child at school ON TIME to help reduce the disruptions of entering the test late.

Second Grade Service Project: Feb. 23 - March 12

Collection Dates: Feb. 23 - March 12

We accept: Used or broken crayons (any brand, with or without paper)

Please Do Not Send: Twistable crayons, markers, or colored pencils

We would love for your family to join the mission! If you would like to participate, please send crayons in a bag with your child. Collection boxes will be at both campuses!

🎤 Elementary Talent Show Is Back! ( 1st-5th Grade) 🎶

We are excited to announce the return of our Elementary Talent Show for students in 1st-5th grade! This beloved annual event is an evening performance that showcases the many talents of our elementary students and it’s always a highlight of the year.

Important Dates to Know:

  • Thank you to everyone who signed up!

  • Mandatory rehearsal Tuesday, March 17 from 5:30-7:30pm

  • Talent Show is Thursday, March 19 at 6:00pm

Chapel Moments

We had a great time in chapel last week as Mrs. Duncan continued our series called "Listen Up!". Through the story of Joash, the 7 year old king, students learned we must listen to the RIGHT voices in our lives. Joash was wise beyond his years! He chose to listen to Jehoiada the priest, a godly man who led him to honor the Lord as king over Judah. Seeking wise counsel from godly leaders in our lives brings us closer to God!

Power Verse: "Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others." Proverbs 12:15

Whatchagaddaknow: "I Will Listen To The RIGHT Voice!"

Our students love to participate in our elementary clubs. These clubs are designed for 1st-5th grade students and meet after school dismisses. 

Staying Informed and Up-to-date with

Classroom Happenings

To stay informed of what’s happening in your child’s classroom, please login into Blackbaud weekly. You will be able to see information such as weekly classroom announcements, upcoming events, weekly academic focus, grades, attendance, etc. This is the key to staying informed and replaces hardcopy newsletters. I encourage you to login each week. Information will be updated each Sunday at 5pm.

Accessing your child's class information weekly:

  • Login to your Blackbaud account and select your child's name under "Children". 

  • Find your child's homeroom class under the "Progress" tab by scrolling down to where classes are listed.

  • After selecting the homeroom class, you will see the teacher's main class page where you will locate upcoming dates, class reminders and news. 

  • Select the "Topics" tab to see specific information for each individual subject. Within each subject folder, you will see a plan for the week and upcoming projects and test information.

  • The "Topics" pages update each Sunday evening at 5pm and will remain current until the following Sunday evening.

Attendance & Absences

When your child is out, please send absence excuses (including doctor’s notes) to the right email:

Planned absences (family trips, etc.) should be sent in your child’s folder for teacher review and approval.

Prayer Requests

Our Lower School administration team meets every Friday morning to pray over our students and families. If you have a prayer request, we would love to pray for you specifically. We believe in the power of prayer and are committed to supporting our families through this dedicated time of intercession. "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up." I Thessalonians 5:11

How to Submit a Prayer Request:

  1. Fill Out the Form: Provide details about your request in the form below by clicking on the link. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

  2. Submit Confidentially: All submissions are kept confidential and are only shared with our Lower School administration team who will lift your request in prayer.
