Annual Food Drive
Our Annual Food drive will take place from March 1st - April 1st. We are encouraging all students from preschool-8th grade to participate. This is a great opportunity to bless our community, while encouraging generosity in our students. Items donated will be given to Trinity Church’s food pantry and then dispersed to those in need. Items may be sent in with your student and given to their classroom/homeroom teacher. We appreciate your willingness to give!
Items needed:
Soup (bean, chicken noodle, vegetable, beef stew), applesauce, peaches, mayonnaise, pancake syrup, cereal, oatmeal, cocoa, coffee, evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla, canned meats (salmon, corned beef, tuna, chicken, etc.), canola oil, vegetable shortening, salad dressing, canned potatoes, instant potatoes, canned fruit, dried beans, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, pasta, stew, rice, juices, ramen noodles, pudding, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers (all sizes), dish soap, sanitary napkins, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste.
Black History Month (Reposted)
February is Black History Month and we are excited to celebrate the many achievements of African American men and women. We are focusing specifically on the words Foundation, Innovation, and Transformation. Teachers will emphasize how each African American leader’s accomplishments were crucial to founding, innovating, and transforming our society.
We are very excited to have children’s author, Jonathan Clark, join us as we celebrate Black History Month. Mr. Clark will be reading his book Finding My Y: The Quest for Purpose. This will be a virtual reading for our 1st-3rd grade students on Friday, February 26th.
(NEW) On Wednesday, February 24 we will celebrate the inventor of the ice cream scoop, Alfred Craelle, as part of our Black History month activities! Our students will learn about Mr. Craelle while indulging in an ice cream cup as a special treat to celebrate!
(NEW) A big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Winston for connecting us to the author, Jonathan Clark and for suggesting our lesson on Alfred Craelle. Our students will enjoy these wonderful opportunities!!
